View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dual band time capsule working wirelessly with 3 macs all intel (24 iMac, mbp 13, mb 13) with no issues. I was trying to connect a 17" flat panel G4 to the same wireless network on the time capsule and it fails to see the network.
When I type in the network name and password (WPA) it comes back with "encryption method not supported by the wireless network". Although all the others macs are working on this same network using the same encryption, the old iMac refuses to play nice. Is there something else I've overlooked?
I have a Mac Pro and two different size monitors 19 and 23. The Mac Pro sees both monitors at the same time as expected. I wish to run the two different size monitors so that the menu bar AND the full desktop area appear on each monitor. If I select mirror monitors then the 23 (wide screen) reduces in size to match the 19 monitor (square desktop). What I want to do is to have BOTH monitors show the exact same thing - the Menu Bar and use all of the display area/desktop for each monitor. Other than purchase another new acer 23 monitor is there a way to get both monitors to appear as if they had been connected individually each with menu and all desktop used? How can I make this happen?
Why do I want to do this? I have two different work stations approximately 20 apart but I am using the same Mac Pro for both work stations using wireless mouse and wireless keyboard for the remote work station.
I work on a mac but occasionally I have to work on a PC. Can I connect my PC to my mac so I don't have to use 2 different monitors?

setup: i have a dual 2.26 GHz quad core xeon mac pro with 2 nvidia geforce GT120 graphic cards. i need to connect 2 displays dell 2407 wfp and one LG TV as a third monitor (which also is connected as a video monitor via a blackmagic intensity pro). question: on which port (DVI, mini display) of which graphics card (lower, upper slot) should i connect my 3 displays?

I'm looking to run two extra screens off of my unibody 15" MBP while still using the screen on the notebook itself for intensive video-editing between FCP and the adobe series. I understand the maximum resolution the mini-dvi port can handle is 1920x1200--no problem. Now, does the maximum resolution change at all if I am running two external monitors (one using the mini DVI port and the other using a USB port via VGA/DVI adaptor to USB).
Can the graphics card handle running three screens at once along with FCP,After Effects, and Illustrator? Can the USB port also push 1920x1200? Or does the USB port on the MBP (I understand each adapter can have different capacities) have a different limit? Or is that 1920x1200 limit the maximum a sole mini-DVI cord can push? You might just say, hey buy a 30" ACD and use the usb/mini-dvi ports to run that at an even GREATER resolution. But alas, I cannot afford to do that yet.
I have a MacBook with the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter. I am wondering if it is possible to run dual external monitors.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new here, and have searched, but just needed to get some input. I currently have a Macbook, but want to get a Mac mini for the desk. I would like to run 2 of the inexpensive 24" monitors independently. All I use is iWork, heavy Internet, light movies, and rarely games (would like to try Starcraft 2), but mostly work stuff. Nothing intense.
What would be the earliest Mac mini that could handle this?
I do a lot of editing in Final Cut Pro and I was wondering what is the best way to connect two monitors to my Macbook pro (Intel early 2008 non-unibody). How could I make each monitor it's individual monitor and not just stretch it to two. Ultimately, I would like to work with three monitors, two externals and the LCD monitor thats on the MCP.

I have recently been in the market for sudio monitors for my Mac. I've narrowed it down to the Yamaha HS5. Ideally, I would have to of them. I would like to know how they would connect to my iMac since I've never dealt with studio monitors before. Would I need a quarter-inch jack? Would I need adapters?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a 15in Titanium Powerbook which I've had for about 4 years and can't see any reason to change it. I'm running OSX 10.3.9, 867Mhz processor, 1MB L3 Cache and 1GB SDRAM. I'd like to get an external monitor, at least 20in, maybe a 23in. I have a few questions though.
1) A fellow mac user said my PB might struggle to power the larger monitor due to the older graphics card. Is this true?
2) If yes... are there any upgrades I can do to allow me to buy an external monitor?
3) If its fine, any recommendations on monitor? I can afford the 23in Apple Cinema, but I don't like spending money for no benefit. How are the other options compared to the Apple? IE Dell/Samsung etc.
4) Anything else I should check/know before purchasing?
5) Any recommended UK sites? If I go Apple I'll go to Regents Street, but what about other options.
I've been searching without finding a clear answer, has anyone ever tried to hook two monitors at the same time to a macbook?(late 2008). if so, how?
