I installed vista 64 went ok but now the computer defaults to vista and in windows there is no bootcamp icon to return it to mac, is there something I can install to get this to work, possibly the second Mac system disk would help? Also where do I get the drivers needed for vista. I have a Mac Pro 2.26 8 core.

I have Mac OS X on my SSD and Windows Vista X64 on a seperate drive.
I used Bootcamp to prepare the drive as a single partition for Windows.
All fine and working so far.
However, after installing the Bootcamp tools from my Mac OS X 10.5 DVD I don't get anything in the Start Menu apart from the Apple Update program.
There are several services including the Switch application that is running, but that's it.
As a result my Early-2008 Mac Pro will only boot from the Windows drive, unless I use the Option/Alt key to select the Mac OS X drive.
Anyone got a clue what I might be missing here? I already did the re-install/replace option on the Bootcamp tools. No effect.

I installed Vista into my mac pro without going through bootcamp so i don't have have an mac OS installed but now my question is..
do i just need to load a mac OS cd and boot from that and i would be able to installed over my Vista installation and install the mac OS?
I have installed windows 7 on my mac. Now, I am not able to switch to Mac OS X. I tried to restart my mac book and holing ALT key and I tried to restart in OS X by- right Click on boot camp, I Can not find Mac OS XI find it strange when I open boot Camp Control Panel I can not see Mac OS X in "select the system you want to use to start up your computer".
When I was installing Windows 7- I deleted some partition Disk, is this the causing an issue??
If this is causing an issue is there an alternative or someway where I can log into my MAC OS X back.

I left my Leopard Discs at home and will be away for about a month. I installed Vista but do not have the correct Boot Camp drivers. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the newest drivers. I need the ones from the disc that came with the computer if anyone can put a link or upload them. Tried Boot Camp 2.0 and update from April to 2.1. Does not have the correct display drivers, trackpad, and network drivers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got the latest MBP 13inch with Vista installed on Bootcamp. I've turned the sound all the way up and it's still very low. I've got all the latest boot camp drivers installed, I've tried viewing different videos trying to see if the video was the culprit, but unfortunately it wasn't. I searched around and I've seen others with this issue, but haven't found a fix.
I've watched the same videos in Leopard that I did in Vista and they're a lot louder.
I've had Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit installed on this Mac before, and it had nothing but problems. I couldn't get sound, even though the settings and everything said it was enabled and working, and etc. But, more importantly, games would run bad on it.I got Diablo 2 running (256 color game) on it, but the colors were terribly messed up. I'm wondering if this problem was due to the fact my Windows copy wasn't genuine (it was a copy of Windows that came with my mom's computer), if it was because that version was 64-bit, or if it was from my drivers (because there is a problem with these drivers supporting 256 color on the Mac OS).I've got the AppleIntelGMAX3100 video drivers, and they won't let me run Diablo 2 on my Mac side. On Windows, it'll let me run it, but I'm not sure if they cause the discoloration or not.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows Vista Home Basic through BootCamp on my MacBook Pro. Everything works fine, except for the one thing that there's no sound... At the moment if i start something with sound, you'll see "the green bar jump up and down" But no sound... Tried to search for an audio driver, and installed one, (not sure which one it has to be though) But it didn't help...
Have tried uninstalling the whole lot and reinstalling it again, same thing happened, when i put in the Max OS x for the driver installation i recall it saying removing Realtek Audio or something, so search for that, but didn't help :/
Any ideas to would i could try to do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using the Windows 7 beta and it's incredible. No random Vista slowdowns, User Account Control works just right, and everything worked out of the box. And I love the new task bar. Since it's a new installation (on a better computer, too) it seems even faster than XP and even OS X. So now that many of you have had experience with the beta, do you think the final product will be enough to make you switch back to Windows? And if you've been a Mac user all your life, will you cross to the "dark" side?

Now that i installed windows, i cannot switch back to osx. If i didnt delete or completely remove osx, will someone please tell me how i can get back to osx. When I moved from Windows to MacOS, I tried to find MacOS applications to replace the ones I used on Windows (just like everybody). The more I tried, the more I found out that I should go for apps designed specifically for the MacOS, as they were more streamlined than the ones made for Windows and then converted to the MacOS.
Anyway, I found out some truly useful MacOS apps and which have great functionality. Some of these apps have features which are not shared by any Windows apps (or at least it seems to me).
If I were to go back to Windows (just to make it clear: I'm not), would I be able to replace the MacOS apps I use with Windows apps with the same or similar functionality? I'd like to make this a kind of game in order to find out which MacOS apps are non-replaceable killer apps.r own apps to the list.
I installed Windows on Boot Camp, but the Application Install DVD is blank. To replace the DVD I have to drive 2-3 hours to an apple store or apple will send me one for $17. Is there a way I can get back to the Mac and delete the Boot Camp partition? The tool in control panel is not there because I could not use the Application istall DVD.

I recently bought a 1 TB external HD to put mainly media pics,music,movies etc. onto. I now have my original 200 GB external to use as a back up drive. I would like to use this drive to back up both my mac and my pc. I wolud like to partition this 200 GB drive and manually back up my pc to it, then I would like to be able to have a bootable copy of my Leopard on it while letting time machine do its regular back ups. Can someone please help me configure this. I have a mac book pro intel running Leopard.

It is such an obvious bug and I can't believe Apple hasn't noticed this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am about to install a new (blank) hard drive to my existing 2009 Mac Pro. The Drive will then be used solely for windows (won't be a partition, but a stand alone drive, separate from my other drives which are Raid).
On the apple web site, it says that the OSX software installed will provide drivers etc. Does that mean that I should:
1) connect the drive
2) format the drive under OSX
3) run the bootcamp assist...
I searched for a while trying to find the answer but did not find it. I just installed Vista Business via Bootcamp. I am not able to access the internet or anything. If I read the help stuff right I need to use the OSX install disk to install the drivers. The problem is, I don't have the install disk. Is there any other way to get the drivers? Or am I just missing something easier?

The iPad is backed up to iCloud but not sure if it included the camera pictures. Were those pictures from my camera ever backed up and is it possible to get it back installed into a new computer?
