I'm seeing a Raptor on sale at Best Buy for $160 Model: WD1500AHFDRTL. When I go to Dell online I see two Raptors for sale. One is WD1500AHFDRTL for $286, and the other is WD1500ADFD for $219.00. So what is the difference in models? One has a window into the hard drive, the other doesn't?
View 17 RepliesII discovered a very interesting anomaly with my mid-2009 13". I plugged my ipad in to syncs and charge, and the ipad said, "not charging." some research on the net yielded information that the iPad requires a higher powered USB port, which all late model macbooks have... All except mine apparently.....
So, I tried the other USB port, and low and behold, the ipad started charging. So the question is, is this the design of the MBP, or do I perhaps have a sub-optimal USB port?
After reading through the entire gaming benchmark thread I still have yet to conclude whether the new i7 in hi res is better, worse, or equal to the 2.8 for gaming?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI copied a folder that's 276 GB big and has 432 files in it from one external HDD to another one. It tooks about 2 hours to transfer. Now just to make sure I looked up the folder information (⌘+i) of both folders.
Strange thing is, that the new folder is 7 GB and 4 files short! It didn't give me any errors while transferring and I don't have the time to manually compare every single file.
Is there an application that compares 2 folders and tells me what files are missing/different?

In finder my date created or the date modified (it is the same case for both) is displaying as "Nov. 4, 2008/2009" depending on whether or not it was created this year or last year. Obviously I have not created/modified every file on my computer on this date.

I installed my MAC Office and Fusion among other things in this account. I then joined the MAC to my office Windows domain which created a new user. When I log in as the new user all I see is the default dock; no applications. And all setting were lost; I think I can understand that one. So the question is, how do I get the new user access to the applications installed under the Admin user?

Later, I discovered that the IP's of both my MBP and my old Windows PC conflicted with each other, so I created a wireless network on my Mac in attempt to fix that. All I can get it to do is say "Supported disk not available" Is there something I am not doing right? Or do I have to download some other program to get it to interface with the PC or what. I had set up my iCloud account, but for some reason, it didn't follow through. So, after resetting my mac ID, I set up another iCloud account. But every time I try to access it, and type in my Email addy, it says my email address is already taken that's absurd, since I had already created it! It suggests others,that I don't want to use! What's the deal here with not allowing the Email addy I choose before? I finally put in a number at the end, & it went through.Now I "supposedly" have 2 accounts - But, I'd like to get rid of one of them - the second.The reason is, that ever since I created that second iCloud account, (it shows up on my Email inbox), I still can't access it.
Second, when I tried to access this support group, it automatically has my email address, but it kept saying my Password is wrong, when I've used this password for my mac stuff, since 2006, when I got my first mac. Finally, I put in my "num de plum" & was able to get in to do this one.I am still unable to access it. How & where is it on the computer? The only place I can find anything about iCloud is in Systems Preferences.

Upon adding new songs to my library, iTunes creates a new folder, gives it the same name as the folder "above" and adds the songs I want to add in this new folder. I deleted the whole library. I have a folder "Greatest hits" with about 20 subfolders for each artist. I added the folder "Greatest hits" to the iTunes library, Itunes creates a new folder for every individual artists in the root directory, copies the songs as well but the cover jpg remains in the "old" folder...
What to do?
Folders I created in mail just went south on me. That is I finally got the ability to get all mail again but seem to have lost the folders I created. I had stored some messages in them too. It just makes one curious as to where they went, Anyone know anything about this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI used bootcamp to create a partition for installing Windows.
Everything worked fine and I still see the Windows partition on Mac OS.
But when I used Disk Management on the Windows and split its partition to 2 new partitions (C: and D: on Windows), they didn't show up on the Mac OS. The Mac OS still showed the Windows partition as one (which is created by bootcamp), not two.
I'm using Vista Ultimate with and Mac OS X 10.5.2.
So I accidentally removed the downloads folder from the dock and now I can't put it back in stacks without it appearing in order by name. I've tried organizing the folder by date created and then adding it but as soon as I exit the folder it goes back to organizing by name.

I would like it to show my applications in Stack mode. I have copied another folder and put that on Dock and it appears fine with Stack options. I have no idea why my alias of Applications opens Finder.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI created an 11X17 poster in iWorks8. When I exported it into a pdf file to take to get it printed, it did not export properly. When I try to open it up on my computer it opens fine. When I transfer it to another computer it only transports some of the graphics and text. The Adobe reader on the PC says there is an error and ask the creator to fix it. Only the Mac does not identify a problem when creating the pdf file.
