MacBook Pro :: How To Access Cable That Connects To LCD

The screen on my macboook pro, 13inch, was messing up earlier, flickering and all.
I got trigger happy and decided to take the glass bezel off my MBP (I've done it before) and managed to disconnect the LCD screen from the rest of the MBP.
However now I can't accurately connect the LCD screen back to the cable it's connected to at the base of where the lcd screen would go.
I'm checking out the videos on PowerBook Medic for the macbook Pro and am seeing how they take off all these things such as the SuperDrive, fans, logic board, etc....but rather than taking off every single item am wondering which of these to take out in order to be able to pull out that cable ever so slightly, simply so I'll then be able to connect it to the LCD screen..
I'll keep researching online and also hope for any guidance tonight, seei as id really like to get this issue resolved before the night ends...not forcing me to leave a tangled MBP on my desk overnight.
a Cable that DEF transfers audio over to the tv? Also here is my macbook pro model. Does it do Audio? Build 10FS69. Someone said there is a belkin one, is that right? Also, I just bought one from Monoprice and that f'in cable doesn't work
Just wondering if anyone knows is the original iBook G3 Clamshell A/V cable is interchangable with the iPod A/V cables?As in, can I use an iPod AV cable for my clamshell to output to my television?
Looking for best conversion cable to hook my Mac Book Pro up to our new HDTV - thought someone said I should get a converter that converts Mac 800 firewire output to an HDMI cable hookup.
I receive cable TV at home and I am told that instead of using a TV I can hook my MacBook via a HDMI cable and watch TV that way on my laptop screen. I'd like to do that. Is the information correct? How do I go about it? Can my MacBook do that?
I have 1.5 year old MacBook P ro with 10.6.4 OS. The AirPort disconnects several times in an hour and connects again automatically in around a miutes. This problem started happening a few days ago. When the macbook is disconnected, iPad that I have on the wireless can connect to internet.
I've been having an issue with my wireless for a while now where each time I turn on my Macbook it auto connects to a neighbours wireless rather than my own despite it being set as the default location.
I've tried trashing preferences, rebuilding my wireless configuration etc... but it still connects to my neighbours wireless and not mine.
Also, it's recently decided that each time they turn on or off their wireless it'll temporarily interfere with mine and kick me offline (it doesn't do the same for my girlfriend who is connected through an Acer laptop)
Is there a way to change this?
It's not too much hassle manually changing networks but enough of one that I'm posting this thread!
My computer is connected to the wireless internet, and other devices such as my brother's laptop and my cell phone are connected and working off of the internet fine. However, my computer is not loading webpages, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It just all of a sudden stops and the blue bar won't go any further. I tried running the safari under the guest account and it worked fine.
MBP dropped connection and now all I get is an exclamation point where it used to show full bars. This happened right during a time I was online using Chrome! I tried restarting the MBP, resetting the router (or whatever that is called), removing and addine AirPort under System Prefs but nothing works. I'm using the iPad 2 to access the Internet and write this, so I know it works. My iPhone also connects just fine. Just the MBP that suddenly dropped and cannot connect.
New to a Mac and I just received my new MBP Retina two days ago. I am having a strange issue where right after i turn on the computer it will connect and drop my wifi connection over and over again. If i turn wifi off and back on again it fixes the issue.
I have the latest updates for the MBP so not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software bug. My router is also brand new from Linksys and is working flawlessly once i do the above steps.
Whenever trying to connect to a WPA2 Enterprise WiFi network, I only get an IP address when it is the first time. (Authentication in itself works fine, it is getting an IP address that is the problem.) What I mean is the following:
1. I start up the computer
2. I connect to the network just fine
3. Suppose now I turn Airport off
4. Then I turn Airport on again
5. Now it doesn't work anymore! I still get authenticated (PEAP) fine, but I now get a "self-assigned IP address" and can no longer connect to the Internet.
6. When I restart, the same happens, i.e., "go back to step 1"
It seems as if the computer keeps a wrong cache of something, which is only cleared after restart?
It is not a big deal, would have been worse if I couldn't connect at all, but still quite annoying that I have to restart every time.
Software Update ran yesterday and I installed the AirPort Utility update (version 5.5.2), and now my MBP no longer connects to my home network when the SSID broadcast is disabled. When I enable the broadcast the network shows up in the list of available networks and I can connect to it, then I can disable it again and the MBP stays connected. But if it's disabled to begin with it won't connect.
I never had this problem before the update, and no other devices on the network are having any issues. Has anyone else had this problem yet, or know of a fix?
Late 2008 unibody Macbook Pro running 10.6.5, all software is up-to-date except for the latest update to iTunes.
My late 2011 MBP (lion 10.7.3) used to connect to external displays through a VGA cable. It has stopped doing so since recently and I am trying to find out why, and how to fix it. The only changes I've applied to the system are (1) connect to a Thunderbolt display and (2) installed gfxCardStatus. The MBP and Thunderbolt display work flawlessly together, with network, USB, and firewire connections operating. gfxCardStatus has noticably increased my battery life (so I recommend it) and I'm aware that it needs to be in dynamic or dedicated GPU mode for external displays. The VGA external displays do not work when gfxCardStatus is running in either dynamic or dedicated mode, or when I disable gfxCardStatus completely so that it does not show on the process list.
I have no trouble using WiFi at home. But when I connect my new MacBook Pro to WiFi networks at cafes, airports, and hotels, I can connect and a page or two will load without a problem. But a minute or two later, the WiFi signal appears to be fine but no pages will load and e-mail messages can't be sent or received.
If I turn WiFi off and reconnect to the same network, I can load another page or two and then it quits working. I don't have this problem when connecting to the same networks on my iPhone, so I'm assuming there's a problem with my computer or its settings.

I am haveing and issue conencting. The probelm is when an ethernet connection is working Wifi is not, when Wifi is working ethernet is not. The issue is the netowrk control panel says Im always connected through wifi and ethernet 100% of the time but Safari or Firefox will not load a web page. It is strange because in Terminal I can ping any website. I'v restarted the router, the computer, I have even reloaded the OSX Lion. I have al the most up to date definitions. From a little bit of reasearch I see this is a ongoing issue and it is very frustrating. It is not a netowrk issue all my other devices work perfect when connected to wifi. 3 windows machines ipad iphone etc. Is the network card bad on the late 2011 macbooks?
I was wondering how I could file share, or make the whole Hard Drive (HDD) accessible to another computer. The two other computers I have are a Toshiba Laptop with Ethernet and USB, and a iMac Intel with Firewire, USB, and Ethernet. Putting these to use along with:Three Ethernet Cables Now how do I get the whole HDD visible to the others computers (either/both) and be able to write to it? Also, I do not want to use CDs and have no CDs that came with the computers. I want to put Xubuntu on the eMac and Debian on the iMacs and erase the rest of the Hard Drives. The computers getting this are the iMac G3s and the eMac G4 in my Signature.
I have a G4 in my living room and my old PowerMac 7300 in my bedroom. If I want of use either one to go online I have to disconnect one to connect the other. I cannot connect both at he same time. I use broadband cable from Cable Vision in New York. I was told about a router. Can anyone give me advice on the name of good router and whether on not it will slow down the access speed on the internet?
I have a Mac Pro with an optical line in. I bought a cable and connected it to the Mac Pro, but the receiver(where I want to plug the line in) is old and only received optical. Is there some sort of adapter that would convert the connect that doesn't cost $200? I was able to connect an analog cable from the front of the mac pro's headphone jack into the back of the receiver, but the sound isn't really the greatest.
Quick question - I have a cable line running from my wall to my cable modem, which in turn connects via ethernet cable to an AEBS. The AEBS provides wireless connectivity to four Macs.
Can I split the cable line in my room so that I may watch TV, or would this cut my download/upload bandwidth in half?
Until now I have been connecting to a wifi network that I use at home. It is fairly slow so for large system updates I connect to a wifi dongle. When this wasn't working last week for the new system update, I came onto the forum and was advised to change the DNS settings for the wifi dongle. It all worked. Since the system update however, my existing network will not connect to the internet at all. It appears in the wifi list but won't connect to the internet. Also, when I started to look for a solution I realize that I do not have Airport as a choice in the wifi list in preferences.
I've had my Mac for 3 years and never had a problem with Airport Express. If I did, I would usually turn it off and then on again and it solved the problem. The last two weeks I've been using a wi-fi hotspot near my home until I get a proper internet connection at home. Suddenly, my internet stopped working. The airport recognzies the link and still connects but the internet page says i'm not connected to the internet. I've tried using diagnostics and it says it can't fix my problem. In diagnostics, the first 3-4 lights turn on, but the last two are either yellow or red. I've changed the time to make sure it was correct, I've re-started the computer several times and it still doesn't work. I don't know what it is that is not working. The airport recognizes the signal, yet I get no internet connection. And I haven't downloaded anything recently.
Novice at VPN here, but it looks as if nothing is being encrypted when I'm connected over VPN.
Setup:Client: OSX 10.5.4, connecting to a server: OSX Server 10.5.4 via Apple's built-in VPN system.
Scenario: � I've set up OSX Server on an XSERVE to allow VPN connections. � I've set up the shared secret, and an account for logging in with. � I've set up the client machine with VPN to use that shared secret, along with that username/password account. � I've made sure to check the box "Send all traffic over VPN connection" on the client. Seems kind of silly that it's even an option, what would be the point of VPN otherwise? � Connect: Client connects to server through VPN, no problem! It authenticates and the connection timer starts and everything is grand. We are connected via VPN! � Begin packet sniffer on client machine in the terminal. � Load a web page. � Packet sniffer reveals that everything sent and received is good old plain text - NOT encrypted - just like we were not connected via VPN.
New-out-of-the-box computer. I've tried creating new network connections -- and other configuration - but no internet pages open. The screen message says "You are not connected to the Internet."

I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro, and today I've been unable to connect to the internet via ethernet or wi-fi, unless I'm in safe mode. Then everything seems to work as it should, which makes me believe that this is a software issue rather than a hardware problem. I've tried making a new account with administrator priveleges, but that doesn't solve my issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I can connect to the internet under my normal user account, rather than in safe mode? I should note that I won't be able to get my hands on my repair CD or perform a clean install of OSX because that stuff is at home, and I'm in college. Also, I'm at a university and don't have a router. I just use the campus-wide wi-fi. Finally, my roommate has no problem accessing the internet in our room via ethernet or wi-fi, but I do. iBook G4 shows that the airport has full connectivity (full bars) yet it doesn't connect and states that there is no IP address. The iBook connects using its internal airport to a Netgear Router. There is a PC that runs windows that is connected to the cable modem. For a month or so both computers were able to access the internet simultaneously. All of a sudden the computers are unable to access the internet at the same time. When I attempt to connect at the same time my Mac gives me an error stating that another IP is in use and so I can't connect.
How can I give my iBook an IP address so that both computers can be online at the same time?
I've just received my new Nehalen MacPro. Everything went fine except one thing that its making me crazy. I have a windows share on my office network, to which I can connect just fine with my Macbook. On the MacPro I can connect to a WindowsVista machine (same/user and pass than the MacPro) but cannot connect to fileserver.
Whatever I try, the finder always connects as guest, even after I chose "connect as" as fill with the right username/password. Finder says its connecting and the connects, but as guest and not as my user. Because the guest has no permissions on this share, I see the folders but no files.
My iBook G4 is having network issues. Since waking from sleep, it will connect to my Airport Extreme base station, but I can't access the web, or access the router from Airport Utility.
Things I've tried so far:
*Rebooting
*Resetting the router to factory defaults
*Swapping out the router for a Linksys
*Clearing out network passwords from Keychain
I doubt it's a hardware issue, as everything works in Tiger (booting from an external drive).
i was wondering if there is a device that works as a usb hub, but connects to the computer wirelessly via bluetooth to your mac. i think this would be nice since i will have a station where my macbook pro will go every night when i buy it and i would like to simply open it and have it connect to the monitor, printer, speakers, etc. without plug in in a bunch of cables.
I bought a new iMac. I have a 2009 model.I want to copy files not use migration assistant. Wireless is slow. I don't have a FireWire cable. I connected an Ethernet cable. I can only connect to my old computer as guest. I have to manually add the folders to file sharing and it works but it's a hack
I want to login with my old computer credential. Both computers have accounts with the sae name. If tht is what is breaking it. I dunno
