I recently got a new Macbook Pro, and I am trying to record some gameplay footage of my online adventures in PS3 games to share with friends. I would like to record in preferably HD 720p if possible, but Standard Definition would be acceptable only if I can play the game in HD on my Television while it recorded in SD. My TV does not have any outputs, only input connections for component, composite, and HDMI.
I've done a lot of researching on the internet, and the closest thing I found to what I was looking for was the Hava HD Wireless. [URL] The problem is that it doesn't seem to say anywhere that it will work with a Mac. I was wondering if there is any Mac solution to my problem.

I have just bought my first iMac. Superb - even though I'm only scratching the surface of what it can do at this stage. Is it possible to record stuff from a VCR onto the Mac? I've got some family videos from 20 years ago I need to get on DVD's eventually - but first need to get them transferred onto the Mac. If it possible - how do I do it?

Is there a command line tool I can use to record audio on my intel imac? In Linux, I use the arecord tool and was wondering if there is something similar for the Mac. I do not want to use a GUI tool like Audio Hijack Pro because I already have and use that app. I now prefer to use a command line tool instead.

Is there a cheap way/compatible way to record audio to an external CD burner rather than the internal drive?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Panasonic Viera (2006) digital TV. It has every possible port on the back (and even ports on one side.)The TV is connected to a digital TV tuner/hard disk recorder unit. The tuner also has a ton of ports. What do I need to do in order to send video from the TV to the Mac and record it on the Mac?(Either live TV or video playback from the hard disk recorder.)With my old analog TV, I used the Interview XLR8 USB video capture device with the Interview application or BTV application. (I think even Quicktime could record from the XLR too.)Seems digital TV doesn't work with the XLR8. Is that right? I tried the XLR8 with various combinations of inputs/outputs but can't seem to get any video to appear on the Mac.
I see that HDMI is one way out from Mac out and view on the TV.I also have a VCR and DVD player connected to the TV via a switcher box. With the variety of digital and analog outputs from these devices, seems I should be able to get video from the TV into the Mac.

I have an old Mac, an LC. Back then, USBs were not even around yet nor were CDs for that matter. However, the information on it (max 40 Megabites, not gigs) is very valuable to me and I woul like to know how to transfer it to the iMac with Lion. It does have an s-video port and I remember connecting a modem to it at one time. Most data was transferred using 3.5 inch diskettes back then.

I have a mid-2007 20" iMac, 250 GB hard drive, 4 GB memory, and it runs Lion.I understand I will have to reboot the computer with Snow Leopard, since Lion is non-transferrable, but do I do this after I've deauthorized iTunes and done a 35-pass wipe of the hard drive? Also, do you recommend that I add biogradable peanuts to the inside of the box (I have the original) before shipping it, or are the Apple-provided styrofoam bumpers that fit on each corner sufficient? It's going USPS to a military base overseas.

I backup my photography on a WD My Passport. I have only used PC's with this in the past, I am now trying to back up some more files and it won't let me copy them to the drive. The permissions say that I have read only access on my Mac. I have read some threads, and they all say that I have format the hard drive to change the permissions and that I will not be able to copy over files bigger than 4G. I have RAW files that can get quite large so limiting the size is an option.
