May 2, 2012I'm unable to receive e-mails on my iMac. I can send fine. This has happened 2 other times in the last few months and resolved itself.. It's been 4 days now, and still nothing. I use Charter as my server. Also, I do get the e-mails on my iTouch fine.

May 14, 2012I'm tying to set up a new iMac with various email accounts. All have been set up fine however they will not send emails, only receive them. The settings are 100% the same as the iMac on the next desk and the iMac downstairs, all of which have these email addreses set up on them.
I have tried using differnet ports for the SMTP settings. But no luck.

Mar 14, 2012We had a mac which was on Leopard and saved files to the serverÂ
The file system we use is a Windows 2008 File Server, this has worked fine with leopard for years
However I understand that Leopard splits the files into resource forks - and that Lion has dropped support for these files. That particular mac is now on Lion as we upgraded and encountering LOTS of issuesÂ
I unable to open or edit lots of the files as i believe chunks of the files are missing. E.g an .eps file showed as 740KB on leopard - Viewing from a windows PC it was 730kb for the .eps and 10kb for the ._ resource fork.Â
Now that we are on the LION upgrade, we only see the .eps file and it is only 730kb. Information missing is things such as preview (quark), Font data, type of file, version number. we have hundreds! of images, files etc created with leopard and now upgraded to lion they all have become useless!
Rejoining the resource forks and files together so that they are usable on lion

All of a sudden I can't open QT videos in emails, I get the question mark inside the Q and the message says "additional software is needed...check the QT website". So I have checked, and done a reinstall, and installed add-ons and nothing works. Do I need to reload an older version of QT software to fix this? What version is best?

Mar 24, 2008I've set up "Mail" with a yahoo mail plus account, and it was alright before a week or so. I used to get new emails, send emails, and do everything really well untill last week. for some reason i just don't get any new emails, I don't get any alerts, I can't see them, I can't access them, i don't even have them in my inbox, no matter how many times i click "get mail" or "rebuild Mailbox".
when i accessed my mailbox from the yahoo mail website, I found that i got like 30+ new emails!
there must be a way to solve this problem.
