My Imac loses it's Bluetooth connection when asleep. The only way is to reboot in order to reconnect : magic mouse, keyboard, trackpad This is a real pb, it happens frequently.Â

Since I upgraded to OSX 10.6.4, my wireless Apple keyboard is losing it's connection when the computer goes to sleep. I never had that issue before the upgrade. It will also on occasion lose it's connection while I'm actively using it. Is this a known issue that will eventually be addressed by Apple, or is there something else going on?

I just got a new one because my old one stopped responding to the left button. Now it seems like every time I use the mba (also super cool) I have some kind of problem. Also the mba has frozen a number of times which never (or extremely rarely) happened with my MBPro and G4. I'm wondering if they've introduce a glitch into bluetooth.

I am having since few weeks problem with my iMac loosing connection with my wifi airport extreme, my MacBook pro, iPhone and iPad is staying looked perfect with my wifi..I Mac is loosing connection, no indication anymore on my top window on my desktop. I have a 27 inch, mid 2011 imac. I bought it in March. It has started losing its wireless connection. The other issue is when it does connect it is very slow. I have a netgear modem, I dont think this is the issue cause the IPAD, and wireless laptop connect fine. I've also run a speed test, all wireless devices connect to 10Mbps and LAN devices connect up to 30 Mbps including the iMac when it is wired. Could this be an issue with the airport card? How would I know, how do I check? What should I do?Â

I added an airport express to my network tonight. The network is wep128 secured which did not show up at first on the express. After I added this, I started to be able to play itunes to my stereo and every once in a while it would drop out. I notice, my network was dropping on my computer. I can manually reconnect, but even then it show disconnected by work with itune and my stereo and even works for sending this note. It will drop again soon.
sometime, i need to reenter my wep assword into my laptop and once it actually seemed to erase my passowrd and said the key would be found automatically
I did not setup a bridge, did not setup static ip addresses, my express and my network have the same passord to access them. just trying to think of other deatails.
After all is said and done, and heavy Macbook Air use, there is only one thing still bugging me. Its not the slightly uneven lighting, not the 3 hours charge nor the 3:30 battery life I get constantly, nor the 6200 RPM fan. When I charge to 100% and let it sleep for 12 hours, I lose about 20% of the charge. Yesterday I was at around 25% and when I opened it this evening, 24hrs later, there was nothing left. If I leave the macbook air closed, I think that the battery would reach 0% after 3 days. This is not normal and some kind of leak.

My iMac is set up wireless. Every time it's allowed to go in sleep mode, it loses wireless connectivity. Then, when I wake it up, I must go to System preferences, Network and request it to reconnect to my home wireless network. It always does this successfully, but it's quite annoying that it seems unable to achieve this on it's own. My iPad 2 and kindle can do this, why not my iMac?

I leave my Air on pretty much all the time, and put it to sleep while moving around etc. Sleeping it disconnect the Airport connection - which if very annoying. At a desk I've just been dimming the display all the way off in order to keep my connection.
However, I recently noticed that by setting a "sleep display" hot corner, my network connection is maintained.
I have 2 questions:
1) Is sleep display equivalent (functionally) to simply dimming the display all the way down?
2) Is there a way to either set up a shortcut to sleep the display (other than a hot corner) and/or set it so that only the DISPLAY sleeps after 'x' minutes?
If I want to format my Mac Pro (6 core 3.33 GHz) and I have an Apple wired keyboard and a bluetooth Magic Mouse will the Setup Assistant be "smart" enough to pair the mouse with the computer or will I be stuck with no mouse during the setup process? Do I have to run the entire process with a wired mouse?

I have a 2009 MP and I hate the unreliability of bluetooth in OS X. I constantly get drops of my BT keyboard and/or mouse. The funny thing is they work well in the Windows 7 Boot Camp. 2 there may be 2 culprits: 1) Logitech MX 5500, which is not officially supported on Macs 2) Steermouse. I use Skype a lot, with a Sony Ericson HBH-602 bluetooth headset on my powerbook G4 1.25GHz with built in bluetooth and airport. I also use an isight. Anyways, sometimes the Skype connection dies and the call terminates. About 60% of the time, the bluetooth icon in OSX doesn't 'free up' and it still thinks there's a connection to the bluetooth headset. The BT icon still has the dotted line through it as if there's a connection even after the call has terminated. This might be a Skype bug, but it means I can't use the bluetooth headset again and continue the call again until I restart OS X. Is there any way of doing this without restarting the computer? Sometimes i can talk for 3 hours with no problems, sometimes the call drops after 5 mins, and messes up the bluetooth connection.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup my MacBook to allow internet connections to devices via Bluetooth PAN. In other words, getting a Palm Centro/Motorola Q9h to access the internet via the mac's internet connection over Bluetooth PAN.
I've enabled Internet sharing correctly, checked all the relevant boxes.
When the device connects to the Macbook, the Bluetooth PAN connection shows 'active', but it seems that the Macbook is not assigning an IP address, nor routing the packets.
Has anyone had any success with this?
Setting up the bluetooth so that I can use my mobile phone to access the internet on my mac. I have an LG phone but there isn't an LG option in the dropdown bar, does LG perhaps have another name that's in the list. Also what do I put in the username, password and phone number sections? I have tried to do it but it has failed.

It will randomly lose connection (data will stop transmitting), but it will not disconnect or tell me it stopped working. It looks like it is working fine on the top right menu bar, but data will not send back and forth.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have two iMac's (an old G5 and a newer Intel iMac -- about a year old). On both I have been using Apple's bluetooth keyboards and mouses with no problems. Recently (maybe when I updated to 10.5.8), the mouse behavior has been problematic on both machines. On the Intel iMac, the mouse and computer will lose the connection several times a day. I'll command-tab from application to application and then after a while connectivity returns -- until the next time. The behavior on the G5 iMac has been much more problematic. On that machine, the mouse only occasionally works.
View 15 Replies View RelatedRecently, I've been having an issue where neither my Apple bluetooth Keyboard or Magic Trackpad pair automatically with the iMac at my password login screen. This forces me to hold down the power button and force a restart of the machine. Both accessories have plenty of battery power and pair fine after restarting. In a related problem, sometimes neither accessory will wake the iMac from sleep and I suspect it's because the bluetooth is dropping connection while asleep, thus making it impossible to wake up the iMac. Corrupt bluetooth .plist file? Or, could there be a problem with the iMac's built in bluetooth?
