My mac keeps loosing wireless connection. It's not the router as other computers, iPhone etc have no problems., I keep having to reset the wireless or turn it off and on again to get it to work

Since I upgraded to OSX 10.6.4, my wireless Apple keyboard is losing it's connection when the computer goes to sleep. I never had that issue before the upgrade. It will also on occasion lose it's connection while I'm actively using it. Is this a known issue that will eventually be addressed by Apple, or is there something else going on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing a bt500 bluetake bluetooth mouse I keep losing the connection, and not being able to connect at all. The bt500 is super cool. I just got a new one because my old one stopped responding to the left button. Now it seems like every time I use the mba (also super cool) I have some kind of problem. Also the mba has frozen a number of times which never (or extremely rarely) happened with my MBPro and G4. I'm wondering if they've introduce a glitch into bluetooth.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 macs working off my wireless router. Two out of three are still working fine, but the third (an iMac G5) keeps losing its network connection and either won't find the network or, if it does, will not allow me to rejoin it, even after entering the relevant key/password. It has been in the same location in my house and has worked fine for the last five years. But oddly, if I move the G5 to within a few feet of the router it starts working again (though sometimes seems unable to find the network, although when it does it will let me join it, hassle free).Â
Have spoken to some Apple guys and, following their advice, have gone into SYSTEM PREFERENCES, NETWORK, LOCATION but having got that far a pop-up appears telling me that an application has changed my network settings. Zapping OK, this dialog box just keeps re-appearing and the only way I can get out of this corner is by 'force quit'. Â

My Imac loses it's Bluetooth connection when asleep. The only way is to reboot in order to reconnect : magic mouse, keyboard, trackpad This is a real pb, it happens frequently.Â

I got my Kindle 3 today (yes I bought one over the ipad simply due to the price) and Ive spent some time trying to connect it to my imacs airport wi-fi. I have tried Customer service over at Amazon but sadly, no reply as of yet. It seems that the Kindle wont connect to "enterprise or peer-to-peer networks". So everytime, I enable sharing and my network shows up - it either wont accept the password or it tells me that "Kindle does not currently connect to enterprise or peer-to-peer networks"
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn startup the WiFi connection symbol initially is full and black and then goes grey with in a few seconds. If I click the WiFi symbol the drop down menu shows my WiFi network which I click put in WEP code but then I get a message after a few seconds that the connection has timed out. All other Macs in the house connect to the WiFi fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems that every now and then my wifi will quit working. If I turn airport off and on it fixes it but I never had this problem in leopard.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI added an airport express to my network tonight. The network is wep128 secured which did not show up at first on the express. After I added this, I started to be able to play itunes to my stereo and every once in a while it would drop out. I notice, my network was dropping on my computer. I can manually reconnect, but even then it show disconnected by work with itune and my stereo and even works for sending this note. It will drop again soon.
sometime, i need to reenter my wep assword into my laptop and once it actually seemed to erase my passowrd and said the key would be found automatically
I did not setup a bridge, did not setup static ip addresses, my express and my network have the same passord to access them. just trying to think of other deatails.
My Linksys WRT610N with the latest firmware worked fantastically on multiple Windows 7-based ThinkPad. However, three (3) different iMac's have had the very same problem of dropping the connection and of my having to powercycle both my cable modem and the W610 router for it to work again at all! Once it drops the active connection, that's it. I have tried a few different settings and nothing has made a difference.
Can you maybe help point me in the right direction or should I just ditch it for an AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule? One additional point: It works worst in the 5GHz frequency band, even though there are none in my neighborhood, and if there are, they have their SSID's (network name) hidden. The 2.4GHz band is extremely crowded where I am which makes it difficult to enjoy my WiFi connection.
I have a I mac and an airport. I've been having problems lately(one month) every time I try to connect to the net. it says there is no connection. if I refresh, it works. the reception icon was showing full (4 bars). 3 days ago, no reception, o bars, today, I got it back. i am about 50 feet away, around a corner outer house wall. nothing has changed in terms of new or moved electronic equipment. I even turned off my 5.0 ghz phone.
any thought on how to fix this?
Since installing Lion I lose my wireless internet connection frequently - only from the IMAC, not from the IPAD or Dell. I called support and after quite a lengthy "try this" session, I was told that this was a known problem. I can always get it back but sometimes have to unplug the router.

I have full Wifi signal and I'm using multiple device on my Wifi which are all stable except the iMAC. We had a power failure a couple of weeks ago and since then the iMac just won't stay on the network. I have to turn wifi of and then back on to get it to join and that mitt lat 10 minutes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the last 2 weeks my wifi connection has been playing up. I use Wifi and my iMac connects directly to my router and it works slow if at all as some pages don't load. I can get by but its frustrating using it and this problem is specific to my iMac as every other device using Wifi works fine. These devices, that work fine, include mobile phones and a MacBook Pro.Â
I'm using Chrome and its the same with other browsers. I usually get a "resolving host' message in the taskbar when loading pages. Sometimes pages do not load at all or they are slow to load and at times some elements like images don't appear. My OS X is 10.9.4.Â

I have a 27 inch, mid 2011 imac. I bought it in March. It has started losing its wireless connection. The other issue is when it does connect it is very slow. I have a netgear modem, I dont think this is the issue cause the IPAD, and wireless laptop connect fine. I've also run a speed test, all wireless devices connect to 10Mbps and LAN devices connect up to 30 Mbps including the iMac when it is wired. Could this be an issue with the airport card? How would I know, how do I check? What should I do?Â

I recently switched cable providers to Time Warner. They set up a Ubee cable modem and all devices (IPhone, IPad, AppleTV, etc) are all connecting to the wireless network except my IMac.  I tried renewing my DHCP lease, updating to OS X Maverick but every time I try and connect I get an error message that says "Connection Time Out".Â

I have a Time Capsule wirelessly connected to my iMac. Since I've encountered some problems with backups because of intermittent wifi connection failures, I want to switch to a wired connection with an ethernet cable. I know I could fiddle with the wifi channels etc. but since the TC is just sitting next to my iMac anyway, I could profit from the higher bandwidth of a wired connection as well. Two questions:
1. What exactly do I have to do to make the switch? Are there any new settings I have to apply? Create a new network?
2. Will I still be able to use the wifi connection to get on the internet using my smartphone?

Is there a free app that will transcode a movie without loosing any of the size or quality? I essentially just want to reformat the file from .ogm or .wmv to something more mac friendly.

Just got a new MacBook Pro, and it is having wifi connectivity issues. Every time I fully shut down and restart the computer, it will not connect to my house's wifi. Rebooting the wifi solves the problem. This didn't happen w/ my old macbook, and no one else in the house is having wifi connection problems.

I'm trying to set up a RDC over WiFi. Both laptops are on the same WiFi network. I installed the latest RDC sw on my mac and I'm logged on as an admin on the other laptop which is running Windows XP. From My Computer > Properties > Remote > 'Allow remote assistance etc' is ticked. From the 'Advanced' tab I also ticked 'Allow this computer to be controlled remotely'. I temporarily switched off the Zone Alarm firewall on the Windows laptop. I launched RDC, I type in the IP of the Windows laptop (which is a generic 198.162.x.y) but nothing happens. I even tried to type in the laptop name but nothing happens either. The RDC cannot find the laptop. I checked that all the services starting with the word 'Remote' on the Windows based laptop have been 'Started'.

My question is whether it would be possible that while being on the hotel's WIFI network other guests could actually hack my MBA.
If so what setting should I adjust to prevent this from happening?
I work for a business that sells a lot of computers, Macs specifically. We've got a wi-fi network in our building; however, the network constantly drops out. Despite our pleas to IT, they will not fix the issue. Our demo computers that customers can play with and consider purchasing often lose Internet access because of this. Whenever this happens, I have to manually turn the Airport off and then back on again, which will get it to reconnect. Does anybody know of a way to have the computer automatically do this every so often?
