Have an iMac running SL 10.6.8 and every few minutes my internet connection is interrupted. But airport shows connected to my network. I have to open network preferences and it shows airport connected but ISP and Internet will be yellow or red. Then I have to go to the Diagnostics button and Airport will be green. I then hit continue and wait for my network to show up in the list and then rejoin. Then I have internet for a bit until it happens again. All other computers and devices on this network are fine. Must have a corrupted file on this iMac.

I recently bought a Macbook Pro (my first Mac). I'm having a problem whereby it keeps disconnecting (a few times a day) from the internet. When I click on network preferences -> Assist Me -> Diagnostics... the ISP, Internet & Server lights are red. I click continue under airport, select my network and it then says my internet appears to be working which it does until the next time.

It will randomly lose connection (data will stop transmitting), but it will not disconnect or tell me it stopped working. It looks like it is working fine on the top right menu bar, but data will not send back and forth.

When trying to reconnect, it says there's an error trying to join the network. When it can connect, it's only for a brief period. I bought it a while back and had this problem back then. I stored it away, and only recently dug it out again still having the same problem.

I'm having a problem with internet access at the moment. I've got a Time Capsule which is connected up to a Draytek Vigor 100 ADSL modem. In the past 4 or 5 days the Internet has been stalling to a halt. I've discovered that if I go into the Airport configuration utility and choose 'Renew DHCP Lease' on the Internet page everything starts working again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have windows xp sp3 and while playing my game, the internet keeps disconnecting about every 5 minutes. Then a bubble comes up and says, "Limited or no connectivity" and I have no internet. So I have to disconnect and connect again to get another 5 minutes before it does it again. The modem I have is this: Verizon GT704WG Wireless DSL Modem/Router To narrow the problem down I went to another house with another wireless and it worked without any problem there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on holiday using my mobile phone (Nokia N80) to connect to the Internet over GPRS / EDGE / UMTS. Everything works like a charm, but often the Internet Connect applet drops the connection and just hangs disconnecting.
I'm running OS X 10.4.7 on a 17" Macbook pro, but I have the same result on a iBook G4, same OS X version, and even trying with a different mobile phone (Nokia 6600) and different network service provider.
It happens constantly, whenever I try to watch streaming videos or download anything from the internet it just disconnects itself and then says " The connection was terminated my the remote site." or "the communications device." Whenever I try to change the network settings a window pops up and says my settings have been changed by another application and it stops me from clicking anyything else, i cant even close the window. I connect using an ethernet cable.

I have a month old iMac 21.5" running Lion and a 17" Macbook Pro on SL From out of the box, I have had wifi issues with the iMac that have become worse since installing the wifi update last week. While my Macbook connects and stays connected with no issue, the iMac dropps the connection and looses all Access Points every 30 minutes to an hour. This is becoming a real head ache as I do allot of Facetime / Webnars.Â

I've just bought an Imac 21.5inch, mid 2011 - Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) and the wireless connection keeps stopping either it shows it's connected or it's not connected at all. This happens every 30 mins or so, sometimes after 5 minutes or sometimes I can get away for a few hours. I'm using a Draytek router with 3 Wifi aeriels and in the house I have 2 mac minis, an ipad, iphone, android phone and a couple of other PCs, none of which have this problem. I've tried changing the router from G to N and also checked who else nearby is in the same wifi settings, I'm set to 6 others set to 1 or 12. So wouldn't think there is interference. I've only just bought this machine so wondering if it's a problem with Lion or the iMAC. Â

I have an iMac OS X 10.7.3 (purchased in late 2010) with all updates current. I use AirPort to connect to my Linksys router with a WPA2 password.
Nearly everytime I wake my computer from sleep, my wireless router is disconnected, even when I have set my settings and clicked on the lock to prevent further changes. My router always shows on the list of available connections with full strength, but it is more often than not extremely difficult to get it connected again. It says "Could not join "myRouter". A connection time out occured."Â I usually have to use the assistant and go through the steps, which usually includes re-typing my password four to five times before it agrees that I know my own password (which is fairly simple to type, I can't possibly be entering it incorrectly that many times).
I downloaded and installed an update [URL] that quote: "resolves an issue that may cause an iMac to not automatically connect to a known Wi-Fi network after waking from sleep. It is recommended for all iMac (Late 2009 or newer) users running 10.7.3." Â
I tried setting a new location, and set the DHCP setting under TCP/IP to be manual. I was successful in connecting to the internet that time, and locked the settings to prevent further changes, yet the first time my computer woke from a sleep, the lock was unchecked and the settings were changed back to automatic. And I was disconnected yet again.Â
This has been going on for months, but in the last couple weeks I have found I am now unable to lock the lock to prevent changes, no matter if my Location is set to automatic or one that I have created. Really looking for resolution as this is wasting so much time, I am on and off the computer multiple times a day.Â

I am Running a 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 24" iMac running Mac OS X 10.7.3. I run time machine to backup to an external Seagate 3TB, FreeAgent GoFlex Desk, FireWire Drive. When the Mac goes into sleep mode, the Seagate drive un-mounts. When the Mac wakes up, I get an error that the drive was not properly disconnected and the drive is no longer mounted. The only way I can get the drive to remount, is to remove power from the drive for several seconds and then reconnect it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor specific reasons, I needed to connect my Synology DS211 NAS to my iMac directly via its ethernet port. I discovered that if I share my wireless internet connection (coming from my cable modem/wireless router) from wireless to ethernet, then the NAS would get the IP stuff it needed to show up. did that, voila, NAS is acting like a glorified external hard drive. BUT, when I did that, I lost all internet connectivity on my iMac. Still have full wireless signal. preferences pane says I'm fully connected to my network with an IP address, but safari always fails to pull up any webpages, saying I'm not connected to the internet. As soon as turn off the ethernet PORT, it all starts working again. And to make it even crazier, I discovered that if I leave sharing my wireless internet via my ethernet port ON, but turn off the ethernet port (in pref pane), I can STILL access the NAS just like before. That makes no sense - I'm sharing my internet via a port I have turned off, but it works? Anyway, why would Iose my airport wireless internet connection when the ethernet port is on - configured manually?

It was given to me because the built in CRT came on purple every other start up Now it will not come on at all even though I can still hear the loud noise from the Degauss cable and the Power Supply and I feel the tube still throwing off alot of heat like a CRT does. I can get a picture on an external monitor as a mirror but not as a main monitor. So three questions is it safe to use this way with an external monitor and the built in CRT still attached? and how would I go about disconnecting the Built in CRT?, is there any way to fix this? Currently the HDD is blank as thats the way it was given to me but I was also given the restore DVD of OSX 10.4 from another Mac.
After downloading Yosemite, my computer (macbook pro) keeps disconnecting my home wifi. I had no problems with my wifi before and my roommates have no problems with it still (they do not have macs). This is only happening at home though, when I go anywhere else, my wifi stays connected. I have tried deleting/forgetting my wifi network and reconnecting, restarting my computer, i searched through my settings but I don't know what to do. It disconnects like every two minutes. When it disconnects and i go to reconnect, the wifi is still there and has full bars, my computer just doesn't stay connected to it.

The trouble I am having here is on my 2.4 MacBook Pro, disconnecting from my netgear router about every 10 minutes. I also have a G5 that is on wifi with the same router but never gets disconnected, I do not know what to do, I am getting sick of getting up to reset this connection every 10 minutes there has to be a way to stay connected.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm just upgrade to Snow Leopard and it work great except one problem, when I turn of my second external screen (a TV using HDMI) I get a kernel panic and there is no crash log for it in /Library/Logs/PanicReporter I've done the "usual" resets on PRAM, NVRAM and SMC however this didn't do the trick. I didn't have any of this problem in Leopard, so anyone else have the same problem in Snow Leopard or have any ideas of how to solve it, I would love to hear it. I thought I should mention I using HDMI for images and TOSLINK for audio that goes to my receiver and then to the TV So when turning off the receiver or the TV I will get kernel panic.

I have tried to quickly do a disk utility check on it, but its not on the list. Is there anyway to get a new driver for it or something as i have important documents on there that need to accessed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 2009 Mac Pro ("Cyrus").
Connected to it are via USB and video an Apple Cinema Display.
Connected to the Cinema Display are an apple keyboard and to it an Apple Mighty Mouse.
Sometimes the mouse pointer freezes (or rather is found frozen when I return to the machine and the screen saver was on) and the only way to get it back to work is to disconnect the mouse and reconnect it.
However, every second or so time I do this, the Mac Pro crashes. The screen turns darker and in the middle a multilingual text tells me that I have to restart my Mac.
Does this happen to anybody else?
How can I prevent it and why does Mac OS X crash over a USB event?
My magic mouse is fine, but everytime I wake up the computer the keyboard gets a lost signal. When it finally connects after several attempts the battery meter reads 93%.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 2.3 GHz MBP bought in 2011. It sits on my desk with the power adapter plugged in and I have a large monitor, keyboard and mouse attached. Typically every weekend or at least every other weekend I disconnect everything from the MBP and carry it around for a day or so until the battery is less than half charged. Then I reconnect everything and let it charge up.
1. Is what I do necessary and if so is that frequency of recharging sufficient?
2. Is it advisable to do a shut down before disconnecting everything and again before reconnecting?
3. If letting the battery run down once in a while is advisable, as a mater of convenience could I leave the MBP connected on my desk and just remove the power adapter, so it would still be connected to the monitor, keyboard and mouse just using the battery, and then reconnect the adapter when the battery is low?

My macbook pro, running on osx mavericks, disconnects from wifi for no reason. This happens often, but I can't find a solution. I have tried making a new location and deleting all my networks in the network preferences. I have also uncheck "wake for internet access" in the energy preferences. I have reseted my computer multiple times.
