May 19, 2012How can I delete Apps and iBooks from iTunes so that do not constantly re-sync with iPad or iPhone even though I specifically un-check them NOT to sync? I have to go thru this every time! I don't even want them any longer on iTunes (or iPad) but I can't find a way to remove them from iTunes! Apple used to be so easy and intuitive but now so much is hidden/fixed).

May 28, 2012When I try to do this using itunes sync, I get the message that my iphone will be replaced with macbook ibooks and that is not what I want to do. I want to do the opposite. I tried downloading different things from my Macbook and it does to " downloads" whereby when I do the same thing on my iphone it goes straight to "ibooks" like I want it to.

Aug 22, 2014I have a dot ibooks file created in ibooks Author. I have used Export to put it in a folder on my Mac (Mavericks) and then used Add to Library to put the dot ibooks file into iBooks. It appears in iBooks on the Mac and I can open it and read it. It does not automatically synch with connected ipad. I have tried putting it into a "Collection" and making sure that "Synch Collections" is checked but it still does not automatically synch. What am I doing wrong? How can I get iBooks on Mac to synch with iBooks on iPad?

Jun 28, 2014I just purchased a new MacBook Pro with Mavericks and transferred my files from an earlier laptop with an earlier OP. I had two files of MS Word documents, each file a title ending in "Book". Mavericks apparently automatically converted both file folders to iBooks, and now when I double-click on them the Terminal launches.
How can I get my folders back with their MS Word content?

Intel Mac :: Cannot Boot From Selected External Drive On Intel Core Duo 10.4.3?
May 29, 2012OS X 10.4.3 IMAC Intel Core Duo. I backed up my HD on an external drive so I could upgrade to Snow Leopard. I wanted to test that I could boot from the external drive and selected it as my start up drive. When I did a restart I got the Apple and the turning gear and then suddenly a black screen with this on it:
"May 28 22:23:11 Launched:com.apple.nibindd:respawning too quickly throttling, exited system abnormally bad system call too many failures in succession I have no name!"
I tried several dozen times with no luck. I think when I made the copy of my HD on the external HD I may have neglected to make it "bootable" (moving too quickly). My internal CDROM is busted so I use an external CDROM. I can't boot from it at all with the proper start up buttons pushed. It keeps trying to boot from the external drive. If I turn the external drive off and try to boot from the external CD I just get the grey file with the ? in the middle of it.
I tried using another external HD I have with OS 10.4 on it, but it won't recognize it either with fan, alt, shift, delete pressed at start up. My internal drive (a Seagate 2 tarabite drive) works great, but how do I reset it as the start up drive when I'm stuck with this black screen. One more thing, when I try to reset PRAM I don't get a second gong.
