Intel Mac :: Clean Install Of Lion - Moved To ICloud Generated Error
Jun 27, 2012One of an ongoing series of issues moving to Lion (whatta workout!). This one involves Mail and iCloud. Porting my MobilMe to iCloud has been problematic - I' ve been asked to do it three or four times, with each time being succesful when viewing through Safari. But now I've realized that the iCloud mail is not being picked up by Mail on my iMac (2009). I go to System Preferences to see if I can do something about it, but iCloud isn't there - just MobileMe.
So I click on MobileMe and (again) it asks me to move everything to iCloud. I do this and some error is generated (can't get it to replicate & don't recall what it was), and I can't sign in - it doesn't recognize my login, although I'm still currently in iCloud via Safari - clear as mud? Yikes. Bottom line: Mail can't get at iCloud mail to download, and sign-in seems broken. In 25 years on a Mac, I've never come across this level of Windows-like challenges.

I now have no calendar on my ipad and only one child's calender (out of three childrens +2 other calendars) shows up on my macbook and entries are changed to wrong days. I have everything on my iphone but do not want to plug it in for fear of losing all data (I do have a back up on an external HD) How do I get all the correct data from my iphone calendar to the ipad and macbook? Mar 28, 2012I have MobileMe installed on my iMac 27. When I try to switch over to iCloud I get an iCloud window that that has a button that says "Move to iCloud". When I select the button I'm asked to reenter my passward as though I attempting to use the "Find My iPhone" application. At the bottom of that window I get a button that says "Open icloud.com". When I select that button I'm asked to enter by iCloud ID and password. I enter that information and it puts me in to the "Find My IPhone" application. When I use the the back arrow I get to a window that has Mail, Contact, Calendar, and Find My iPhone icons. It appears that everything is setup, but when I exit I have to go through the same process everytime as though it didn't move anything to to the Cloud. When I select iPhoto and Apperture to turn on PhotoStreaming the system tells me I have to log in to iCloud in system preferences to do this. I see no way to turn on PhotoStreaming on my iMac.

May 7, 2012If the mail application is close, iCloud mail goes offline, although my other email accounts in the mail app do NOT go offline. When I open the mail app, there is a symbol next to the iCloud account (but not next to the others) that looks like a circle with a horizontal zig-zag. When I click on that symbol I get the following message: "This account (iCloud) appears to be offline due to a network problem." If I click the button in the dialogue box that says, "Take all accounts online,", then my iCloud mail comes in right away. However, all my other mail accounts already are delivered. It is not a network or connection problem.

Jun 30, 2012When I open address book on my mac, all of my contacts are on iCloud. When I change a photo for one of my contacts and add an effect to it, the effect lasts for about three seconds and goes back to the original. I'm assuming that a sync with iCloud is occurring and the image modifications are lost since when I turn my wifi off, the effects remain. However, when I turn my wifi back on, the effects disappear and I am left with the orginal. I tried running the app in 32-bit mode with no such luck.
