I made the mistake of choosing the "new" 3-column format in Mail when I upgrade to Lion. I'm guessing that most people love this, but I ain't one of them. My question: How do I get back to the old familiar list all emails at the top with email content views at the bottom?

The first thing I do after importing my media is I sync the secondary audio with the video clips.Â
The audio clips are usually named Zoom... or Tascam... and the video is typically named MVI... or something else.Â
Going back and forth between the correct take of the audio and the correct take of the video requires that I scroll up and down the list. It would be great if you could split the view into two separate lists and that way you could easily see both while syncing.Â
In iTunes, if I go to List View with the Browser, it shows a different number of albums than it does if I go to Grid View.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there (or will there ever be) any way to change the white default color of finder windows in column and list views? Or is there a 3rd party app? You can change them in icon view but that's the only view I never use. My eyes get so tired staring at white all day. If I could make all my windows dark grey I could work longer, better, happier. Would also love to make the Mail app dark.

Transferred data from PC to iMac. Emails going back to 2008 that I want to remove from Gmail 'All Mail'. Have tried merely delete, establishing a folder for 'old emails' then removing them to trash and emptying trash, and creating a filter to clear old messages from Gmail Inbox. Nothing works - they keep coming back. Help, I do not need them on my computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Snow Leopard I an issue with finder, when I open up any drive and then click say a folder/directory starting with the letter A, then click on a sub-folder, finder jumps to the very bottom of the top level folder/directory list. This forces me each time to then scroll back to the top where I was working.
It easier to see than describe the fault/feature, so hope this makes sense.
One of my email accounts (a MS exchange account) suddently went offline and hasn't come back online for days! I have the exclamation point in the triangle next to the ghosted name of my account. I've tried multiple times to go back online w/o success Connection doctor was not helpful
-I can still connect directly to the MS exchange account on the internet
-My other accounts (e.g. gmail) still go online

I've been a OSX Mail user since the beginning, but I am stumped as to how and why all of my messages now (as of a few days ago) have "recipient list not shown: ;" appearing in the Cc Address Field area once I send them.
It happens even if I get rid of the "Cc Address Field" option in my message being sent.
I did not adjust any of the settings prior to this happening, except maybe download an update for Mail. Not sure...

The odd thing is that on my iPhone, the emails are fine. I did recently get the new 27" iMac and restored from Time Machine however this is happening with new emails as well, not just old ones that were already on the computer. It's also only happening to some emails, not all.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently switched from using Outlook 2007 on Fusion on my MacBook Pro to the native apps in OSX, to try to move away from having to run Windows on my machine. I decided against using Entourage as I have experienced a lot of problems with crashing and slow speeds with my Exchange server email. I'm really happy using Mail/Address Book/iCal now I have tweaked it all a bit. I've visited the Hawkwings site to download a bunch of useful Mail plug ins, and have converted to 3 pane viewing.
I would dearly love for the emails to be grouped by date, as they are in Outlook, to avoid the unbroken list of emails that I currently have. I have experimented with Smart mailboxes and rules to colour the emails so I can differentiate between received dates, but find these arrangements either impractical or fussy to look at. I receive so many emails all day, I'd really like to have an easy-view layout. The ONLY thing I miss from Outlook. Is there a plug in or similar that would create this for me?
I had a class of 25 students email me from their mobile phones all using the same subject. Now I'd like to create a mailing list / group so that I can easly contact all of them if need be. I tried creating a new group and dragging all of the emails into it to no avail. I also tried right clicking and checking the menus to see if there were any options which there weren't.Â
I'd be open to using automator or something similar if it worked.Â
When replying an Mail, I cant see the original email any more, just a white page as with a new mail.Instead, I have to forward the email and copy all the addresses if I want to have the originals and it's so uncomfortable.
Everything has been working brilliantly until last week.

I normally export any email I wish to save as a PDF, for some reason a tax receipt I've just received, when exported as PDF, displays only as the sender's details, i.e. name, address, date sent etc.
I've tried saving as RTF and converting but when it converts to PDF it moves the formatting around so figures aren't in one column anymore.

Why am I recently unable to use my mouse to scroll email topics or content? I can only use the up and down arrows keys to scroll. I am able to use my mouse to scroll through internet searches. It only seems to have affected my email messages.

it's not really a long story, i have a macbook i got in feb. 2007 i paid 1299 for it, (not like it matters, but it's kinda why im annoyed lol) Well, i was carrying it today, and realized that the plastic by the vent i guess? it's on the bottom of the case near the back edge. so anyway, it is cracking, but not from outside it. it just runs straight across. Will apple help me even though I have no applecare? This seems like a manufacturer's defect to me, but i was hoping macrumors' collective knowledge would have a scenario or someone has been through this before. I'm getting pics ASAP!
View 6 Replies View RelatedA friend recently downloaded 500 messages from her ISP to Mac Mail (4.4) The inbox says she has 500 messages but she can only see around 150 / 200. How can she see that complete list ? I'm trying to convince her to remove those messages off her ISP's server.
I have managed to install virtualbox on my mba 11.6 with win 7 as the guest.
1. The only way I can move from win 7 back to osx is to hold esc and drag the cursor down through the bottom of the win 7 window. Is this how its supposed to work?
2. I have set up a shared folder on osx and set it up on virtualbox but cannot mount it as instructed through the command menu.
3. Virtualbox doesn't recognise my pen drive but osx does.
4. Would it be advantageous to use win 7 lite as I only have 160 hd?
Excuse my asking seemingly simple tasks but I'm struggling with it, and cannot put anything on win 7 until I master it.

Every time I change from list view to column view, it changes it back after I close the window.
Is there any way I can make it stay in column view?
How do you get back a purchase once is removed from the list (by clicking on the X)?  I have done so for FCX and I am a bit worried that I will have to pay again in case I wanted to install on a new machine.And in fact to prove the isse I have done so do for a couple of (paid) games which I did remove from my machine.Instead of a download I get the full price....but I paid.Â
