Just bought the 24 LED Cinema Display to use with my new uMBP. The display looks great, but sometimes it's pretty tough to read things on it because the resolution is so high. Is there any way to change the font size for things like Safari, Entourage, Word, etc. JUST on the LED and not on the MBP as well?

I have now had a nice 27" 2560x1440 pixel Job for about 3 1/2 weeks, but I can't stop it using a base system font which renders letters on screen at about 1.5mm high. One of your threads gives this answer: click on the backround, go to view, view options and set the font size.Yes it does set the font size used in the screen icons, but the font used in the window it opened remains resolutely minute.To compose an email, I must set the font to 24 pt, but then forget to reset it before sending the email. The zoom function does not seem to be available in composer.

iweb '06 -- How do I change the font size on the little top tabs I have created? I can't find how to do this, if someone can be exact I know how to change type on all the body copy, but not the tabs.
I did this before, but just can't figure out how to do it again.
I was about to order an iMac when I noticed that the font size of screen menus and application menus barely visible. When asked they said it cannot be changed at the Apple store that is ridiculous. Even in Windows XP or I have done that 10+ years ago or more, in windows environment.

I drag the right hand corner down and it goes full size BUT as soon as I change a page within that application it goes back to almost max (just above the dock. Its as if the dock is pushing the page higher. When I click on the minimise and then click to open it opens again at almost full size just above the dock. When I click on the green resize maximise button it goes back to where it was and stays there.

I have a root account enabled on my system which i was logged into to use this hint, i'm sure some of the more terminal thrifty users can chime in on how to do this through the terminal.
In the finder navigate to applications folder and right click on itunes and select Show Package Contents. Once Contents is open the path is Contents/Resources/English.lproj/TextStyles.plist. Right click on TextStyles.plist and open with Property List Editor.app. in Property List Editor.app locate 9003 and click the arrow next to it.
You will see 3 lines of settings on the FONT row i changed the font to LucidaGrange-Bold. on the SIZE line i changed 13 to 18. then save the file
I now have iTunes with a bold and larger font just the way i like it. Im a musician and use itunes to make my bands set lists I just take a screen capture of the list and print in preview.
Is there a way to increase the system font size and change font type on my Macbook?

Scrolling, i.e. 2-finger, on the trackpad often, but randomly, results in font size changes (e.g. in Safari, mail, etc.); in word and powerpoint it often changes a word or paragraph to subscript or superscript. This also happens often with cursor movement on the trackpad, i.e. single finger sweeps. It appears that trackpad usage is randomly triggering command+ or command-.

I'm trying to increase the font size of my mac, but I can't find it anywhere. I should be really simple to do so I'm probably missing something. On windows you just right click the desktop > appearance and bang. How can I do it on the mac? Oh and I don't want to increase the font of safari or finder, i already know how to do that, what I'm looking for is a way to make all fonts bigger (including menus)... just like you do on windows, make all fonts 1.2 times bigger.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got the latest 13" Macbook Air and hooked it up to my Apple 24 inch LED Cinema Display. It works great but I've noticed that the resolution is not the same as when I had my 2008 Unibody Macbook attached to it. Everything is bigger (i.e. lower resolution) when the MBA is connected. I went into Display Preferences and changed it to the highest resolution but it didn't change. It's not that big a deal, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone had any suggestions on how to get better resolution on the cinema display. Or is it not possible with the new MBA connected?

While the subsequent page contains a link to the conventional line, could this reflect a consolidation of all Cinema Displays to the LED variety is coming sooner than later?

I am actually trying to decide if to get the old 30" cinema display or not.I'm a graphic designer and my fear is that apple will never make a matte display...Here in Italy it's still sold in the apple store. I have the unibody macbook pro, and so I've been reading through reviews now for a week ... my biggest concern is the dual-link dvi adapter... I still see posts (August or September 2010) with people experiencing issues, even with the firmware 1.3!I wanted to ask you people if I should go for it or dig the 27 inch even though it's glossy... I have a few people in the office (also graphic designers) working on iMacs and got used to the glossy.
View 11 Replies View RelatedNormally, the Finder window will display a folder's size in the Size column. However, I have one folder which shows as "Zero KB" in the Size column. When I open the General Info window, the Size reads as "Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes) for 0 items."
In order to get the folder size I have to go into the folder, select all folders, then with either the Summary Info or Inspector window, it'll show the folder size ("185.32 GB on disk").
Why is this occurring in only this folder? Is it because it's a large folder?
I'm running Snow Lep 10.6.2. The folder is on an external drive in FAT32 format.
I see that when I open either one of my browsers, I switch between Firefox and Safari, the font is very small and I have to use CMD and the plus (+) key to increase the font.
How do I permanently keep it at a bigger default font?
I just got a new MacBook Pro 15" and am still trying to get used to the one piece trackpad. (My old MacBook had a separate button). The main irritation is that, depending on how I move my fingers, I inadvertantly change the size of the webpage and font. I'm not even sure what I am doing to cause this, but is there a way to "lock" the trackpad so this does not happen?
