Intel Mac :: Can't Burn Any Of Movies As The Program
Apr 28, 2012
I have transfered my movies to my new iMac and am using Toast to burn movies as I previously did on my macbook. It won't load ANY movies, saying that they are missing the XVID codec.
I just downloaded a free trial of Aimersoft Dvd Creator. It seems simple to use to burn avi to dvd. However it seems like you can only use a DVD5 or DVD9 blank discs.
Are those the discs I need anyways to burn movies or is this program seem to be very limited on what disc to use?
Is there a way to burn DVD with homemade movies to distribute to relatives and friends? I didn't find applications nor third part programs working on it.

Sorry if its been covered but I went through 4 pages and didn't see this asked. This morning I looked at the new movie section and saw most come in around 1.3gb or so, which seems too small to burn to dvd with any amount of quality.
So are these movie downloads strictly for ipods? If so, I just can't see spending $10-13 to do this.
just wondering if DVD-R is the most universal, most compatible DVD format that I should be using to burn all of my videos. I don't need to re-write anything, just need to write the DVD once and be able to play it on the most amount of DVD players from now until 40 years from now.
I am wondering if there is a legal way to burn movies purchased from iTunes onto DVD's. I have some movies that I would also like to watch on my TV without having to hook my computer or ipod up to it.
I just recently got my mac. Its been s struggle but I love it! Few problems though. Firstly, how do I put movies from my computer onto a dvd? Make up a dvd that can play in a dvd player. Its a blu ray player, im not sure if that makes a diff, think I just have to check what types of files it plays and change them accordingly. So how do i burn a movie onto a dvd?
Other question, Im having a problem with my wireless internet. My macbook works fine everywhere else and nobody else i live with have any problems. Just my computer in my house. The internets REALLY slow. I rang NTL and they said its your computer, so rang apple and they did some tests and said its your network so I rang NTL again and they gave me a number for netgear, the people who make the router. They were NO help, you can't call them from a mobile phone and I dont have a housephone. Is there anything I can do?
I bought a movie Bolt, for my son on itunes. I am trying to write this movie to a DVD as we are going on holiday and I want to take it with me. When I go to uDVD it tells met to first go to iMovie, share, media browser. However, when I do that, the options media browser is not available to choose. Last night I was able to write the movie to the DVD by opening iDVD, choosing file, burn to DVD from movie. However, it burned the DVD with sound but no picture. Obvsiouly it is encoded or something but I cannot figure out how to get this right!
We are gonig tomorrow and I need to do this tonight! I am not very computer literate!
how to make my idvd burn dual layerd movies? I've done everything the same as I always have and it still won't do it. Do I need to buy something other than Sony discs? I'm at my whits end.
i am trying to burn a move in avi format to put on a dvd using iDVD but this it what it says "Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window".
I was wondering if there is a Movies/TV Shows Cover Art/Tagging Mac program similar to Tuneup for music? I already have the movies in my iTunes library but they don't have the proper tags or cover art. Its even more important for episodes, I don't want to have to go through every one and edit everything. Please let me know if there is a program to do the abovementioned just like tuneup.
I know itunes does it even Disco can do it, if any body can work it out? I'm looking for a good writing program thats easy to use and tags my cd tracks. Its for djing with cdj's that read the records track names on the units display...
I was trying to sum that title up as best as I could. I'm looking for an audio program that will allow me to take one long audio track, separate it by markers (or something), and export/burn to CD (each marker would represent an individual track). The Wavelab program has this feature, but Wavelab is PC based so I can't use it =( Anyone know of anything?
I'm trying to burn some DVDs. I first burned in Finder and found out the hard way that that makes terrible quality data disc DVDs. Then I tried on iDVD, and at first it said it would only take 3 hours to burn a 1 1/2 hour movie on Professional Quality, so I was happy. But as it was encoding, it jumped to 16+ hours! So I tried again with only high quality, and it still said 8 hours, and now after 10 hours is still encoding. So, I need something else that's faster. I also need something relatively easy to learn/use. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about kind of, but I really don't and I just barely figured iDVD out. I still want it to convert into DVD quality discs (and good quality - I just got a new HDTV and would even like to try burning HD or Blu-ray discs). And I need it to be free.
So, my needs are:
#1 - FAST #2 - FREE #3 - GOOD QUALITY CONVERSIONS #4 - EASY TO LEARN/USE
New to iMac, just trying to do something I could do on the PC without any trouble. Can't seem to get the burn folder to burn to a new CD-R. Can't seem to get the iMac to recogmize that there is a CD in the drive.
Have tried more than one CD. It does eject, but stalled out on the transfer.
I miss my PC. this has taken an hour for something that should be--well--easy.
I have a 21.5in iMAC (mid 2010) and I keep trying to burn a disc with photos on it. It appears to be burning normally at first then during the second half of the burn (the verification bit) it starts making clunky noises and then ejects the CD. I've tried several new blank discs and several different makes as well, and it spits them all out. It says 'error code 0x80020063' I can read CDs fine.
