Intel Mac :: Accidentally Inserted An Sd Card Into The Cdrom Drive - How To Pull It Back
Mar 19, 2012
i have an imac and have accidentally inserted an sd card into the cdrom drive located on the side of the screen, one above the other. how can i get it out as it seems to have disappeared?
The CD slot is so close to the memory card slot, and I usually find them by feel as they are on the far side of the computer. I have to actualy stand up to peer around the side of my screen. While trrying to retrieve the card, I heard something drop, presumably it has droped inside somewhere.
I accidentally moved MS office 2011 to trash and cannot get it back... "put back" option is not in bold. Have read many threads to drag it to desktop, applications etc but am afraid to do this. should I just re-install the program as I have the disk? but my main concern: if I reinstall, will I lose existing files of Word, Excel, PP? I see them now converted to I-Works, will they remain? BTW - I have not backed up on time machine in over 2 months!
I installed a CDROM application on Leopard 10.6.8 which worked fine. I now try to install the same software on Lion 10.7.2 and it does not allow me to open the application. The content is fine, I think the issue lies with the installer?
I deleted all my movies instead of an old word document and now I need a way to pull them from the trash. I stopped using my comp. the second I realized I did it so they should still be intact. But I haven't been able to find free program that lets you pull things from the trash. I have seen some, Data Recovery X 2, but it costs 100$. I have no more money after getting my new mbp, I realy need some free software for this.
I have a mid-2010 iMac. Recently, it has failed to mount DVDs, either video or data, on a reliable basis. I have been able to work around it by restarting my iMac, but that doesn't always work.
Info: iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), mid-2010 model
Anyway, I was thinking about upgrading the airport card in my powerbook to extreme, so I pulled out the battery and flipped the latch to find that the plastic tab to pull it out is missing. I sense a pain to get it out now, I haven't tried, though. Any tips on how to get the card out of its compartment without bending the aluminum etc? Also, there is a tiny nip in the little cable that plugs into the back of the card, I can't tell how bad it is, the WiFi works but doesn't that cable connect the card to the antennas on the top of the LCD on the system or worse.. to the logic board?
Relatively new to Mac. Accidentally deleted Preview from my Macbook Pro. Sorta a bummer in terms of viewing PDFs and other image files. Have searched Apple.com but haven't been able to find a place to download the program and reinstall.
is there anyway of getting it back? is it in the Mac OS X install DVD? if it is, will it format my hard drive, my apps or anything? im kinda scared to pop it in...
I just accidentally removed my SD card from my USB reader when I was zeroing out data from it. I've inserted it in again and have now zeroed out the data about 4 times in the MS-DOS format, now whenever I try to insert it into a camera or printer it will say it's not useable despite being able to use it on my Mac. Any ideas? I'd rather not have to go buy another SD card.
I accidentally hid the Safari toolbar and now I can't get it back. The toolbar NOT the menu bar. The toolbar with the navigation buttons and address and good search bars. I can't find any way to unhide the toolbar. This is for Safari on Windows in case that's not clear. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the toolbar was still hidden. How do I get the toolbar back? Safari is useless without it.
I somehow managed to do something really silly, I don't know how exactly I did it, but I had moved my desktop to the trash. So now it's sitting there in the trash. I don't dare do anything until I get some proper advice. Can I just drag it back to my home folder and clear the trash?
I didn't realize that deleting the shortcut for Photo Booth (while trying to clear my desktop) would delete the application. Does anyone know how or if I can get it back?
I have an old iBook G4 that powers on, but then the screen just flashes on and off in grey then goes completely black. I would like to pull all the documents, pictures, and other files off the hard drive but I don't know if this is even an option.Â
I have accidentally moved my whole music library to trash is there a way of moving it all back to iTunes, so far i seem to have to individually pull out each track from trash?
I got this message every time I boot into Snow Leopard. It's the Boot Camp drive (not partition). I don't really need it in SL, but how to hide this warning?
I have an external firewire drive and I made an iso of Tiger (from Original CD). I used Disk Utility to make what I think to be a bootable firewire drive.I selected the ISO as the source and the External as the Destination. When I hook up the external to the ibook and hold down the options key I have a gray screen with a refresh and and right pointing arrow.
I have an iMac now powered by OS X Lion. But the problem is that when I try to insert a disk the superdrive accepts it but it doesn't show in the desktop. And after 30 seconds the disk is automatically ejected. I have tried restarting the PC a lot of time. The problem persists with all cds and dvds.
When I insert my thumb drive (usb) iphoto launches. It doesn't offer to import, just gets in my way! I'm sure there are a few photos on the drive, but the bulk of what's on there is other data types, text, pdf, a bunch of stuff. So can I make iphoto stop launching?
