View 2 RepliesI've been experiencing this for over a month now. Basically, occasionally when logging into a website (i.e. google, designers.mx, amazon, etc. -- really doesn't matter what site it seems), Lion will entirely freeze up for seconds to up to minutes. More specifically it occurs when tabbing from the username to the password field. This will happen both in Chrome and Firefox. I had thought it was related to maybe firefox add-ons (i.e. I have 1password, but i've disabled them and have had it still happen. I do use firebug, but wouldn't think it was related to this issue..I've already verified there are no issues in the keychain access as well.I can sometimes unfreeze momentarily it by pressing the power button briefly.

When I fill in forms online etc, as soon as I start typing my name, address & contact details automatically appear. This is very useful apart from an old email address appears instead of my new one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Intel imac with a 2 TB SATA drive used for media  and a 251 GB drive used for applications etc . Trouble is when assessing storage on "About This Mac" it looks like 141GB of the flash drive is full of movies . Can I find a way to see what those movies are in order to safely delete duplicates or move them onto the SATA hard drive. I use apple tv to get media content from itunes but do not really know how itunes or where itunes stores the files . I'm assuming its from the SATA disk as Ihave 1.5 TB of files on there all available in i tunes
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe hard drive on my iMac is filling to capacity at an extremely accelerated rate. In order to have functionality, I had to delete some unnecessary files and used WhatSize to try and determine the culprit. When backing up my hard drive yesterday, Mail was showing to be 91G. The hard drive filled up again a few minutes later so I copied iTunes to an external drive for safe keeping freeing up 85G.
By this morning that was gone as well so I copied contents of Pictures over to external hard drive freeing up 189G. Mail is now up to 244G on my 500G hard drive. I rebooted at that point to see if that would stop the growth and it has currently, but it may start again. WhatSize says there are no duplicates. I am receiving and sending the same amount of mail that I usually do on a daily basis, so that is not the problem.

All of a sudden when I open Safari, it opens to the full screen and the tool bar on top doesn't show unless i click somewhere around the google search box. Then it appears and I can click on diagonal arrows that shrink it to about a quarter of the size vertically. Then I can click out of it by clicking on the red x on the left hand corner.

[uRL] Only 40GB and 80GB though but it's great to see that m-SATA is being adopted by such big company. Maybe m-SATA is the future? No need to waste space with casings and stuff when a stick like that does the job too. Those should fit in MBA but there is no place for the screws.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a late 2010 27in iMac and it has shut down randomly by itself 4 times in the last month or so, including twice in the last couple of days. I have 16G of RAM and am only using up to 8G ever. Just to be clear, it shuts down and does not restart automatically. I never have the screen brightness higher than half so I don't believe I am overheating it? I really want to know why this keeps happening.

I have an i mac (quad core) running on Mac os x 10.7.3. I am finding increasingly that despite me closing all programmes properly the mac doesnt shut down. I find it goes to the grey screen and the mac spiral appears, I have to push the power button to shut the machine down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter around 10 to 15 minutes of using Safari, no matter what website I'm on, it will suddenly close on me. A message will pop up saying something along the lines of - Safari unexpectedly closed - and will have the options to report, reopen or close. I know it would be useful for me to tell you exactly what it said, but by the time I opened up a new Safari and logged in, I've forgotten what it said, it did however mention "Steinberg" something.

My iMac is shutting down whenever I try to open an app. Everything was going fine, then I tried to open Skype and was forced to shut down the computer using the power button (there was no error message, just this message to shut down using the power button). I restarted it and deleted Skype thinking there was something wrong with the app. Then I tried opening Firefox and it asked me to shut down again. And it does it whenever I try to oPen any app.

Brought my iMac to store because it kept shutting down and rebooting on its own. Been 12 days and still haven't heard back from them and when I call I get the run around of the computer repair being "in progress". What to do next?

For the past two nights, my iMac has randomly completely shut down. I set it to sleep before going to bed. When I woke up, it was shut down. And the weird thing is that it was shut down, and when it started up, no applications or anything were open. Generally, I'll shut down and it keeps everything open and running, then when I turn it back on, everything is where it was. I don't know if I lost documents or anything... or everything. I've never seen this before since getting Lion.Â
I checked my energy saver schedule... I had it set to SLEEP at midnight. But it is never set to shut down or start up. And even if it was, why are all the apps closing when it shuts down?Â

I have a MacBook which has recently been shutting down when it feels like :/ this all started a week or two ago (well not the shut downs but other issues that I'll get too), basically the fan I think has been knocked as it is bumping the top or something as the whirring is getting loud and it sounds like every now and again it hits something
Also CPU usage seems to be averaging out at 20% for Safari and 100% for HD Video where as it used to be very small amount for Safari and 30 - 40% for HD.
My iMac keeps shutting down in after about an hour in sleep mode. I have to press the power button to turn back on. Energy saver settings are still default settings. I'm running osx 10.7.4.Â

Lately my iMac monitor keeps shutting off every couple of minutes. It seems like its in sleep mode but if i move the mouse or press a button on the key board it doesn't go back on. I have to press the power button 2 times to get it to turn back on. When the monitor turns on everything is still there right before it shut off.

my Dad has to fill out some forms and they are available online in PDF format. He can edit them in Safari, but once we save the forms we are unable to edit them. The weird thing is when I first save it I could edit it, but once I saved it again it wouldn't let me change anything. This is very strange, I've tried Preview and Adobe Reader.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAm I the only one, or does the SSD fill up faster than a standard HD? Right now I of course keep my iTunes library on an external drive, and soon I will do the same for my iPhoto library as well. That said, it seems that I loose space faster than I would expect, is that how these drives behave? All I can say is thank goodness I got the 256 GB model!
View 11 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the latest tax forms from the IRS in pdf form, and filled out all my tax information using preview. When I finished, I saved the form, but all the data I entered was lost. Can you not fill out pdf forms in preview? I did find a workaround. I filled in some data, then "printed" to a pdf file, and that saved all the entered data. Any insight into this issue?
