All of a sudden when I open Safari, it opens to the full screen and the tool bar on top doesn't show unless i click somewhere around the google search box. Then it appears and I can click on diagonal arrows that shrink it to about a quarter of the size vertically. Then I can click out of it by clicking on the red x on the left hand corner.

I have a MacBook Pro, operating system Maverick 10.9.3 and cannot print a Pages template form in color on my HP 8600 printer. The border of the document is in color, but prints grey. Is there a glitch between Pages and Maverick, Pages and the printer or what?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may sound silly but when I start my computer, my usual sign in screen has shrunk so that it only covers the top left hand side of the screen, whereas before it covered the whole screen.I put my imac to sleep as usual without altering anything, so why has it changed.Â
Also I have folders on my desktop screen and they seem to be further 'up' the screen, but I cannot move them back again. Before, I had a little hand to grab them and could move them about, now if I try to ' grab ' them I have a strange little expanding box that gets bigger as I move it, but doesn't seem to do anything, what is this, and why am I getting it?

I have no idea what happened but somehow the function of some of the keys on the top row on my Macbook Pro keyboard changed. For instance the dashboard key does nothing while the F12 key now shows the dashboard, F11 shows the desktop while F9 does what F3 did before etc.
I'm certain no fluids were spilt on the keys.
After I restarted and tried to change them back to the default function in the system preferences window, nothing happened.
How can I restore the defaults?

I was plugging along on the internet when I decided to try the spoken commands for the first time. When I opened System Preferences and clicked on the microphone, at that instant my screen flickered and changed in both quality and what appears to be contrast and tint. I tried in vain to correct this by way of the controls for the Display in Sys. Prefs. but to no avail. I would like to know if I have a video problem or a memory problem.

I run safari and am browsing then notice the screen at that moment slides a little to the right with a replica behind it then slides back like a flicker. I can't reproduce it. I am unable to open Pages because it says "pages is being updated." But it doesn't finish updating and I can't seem to force quit and re-open the pages. The same message keeps appearing.

I keep having pages suddenly minimize when I didn't tell it too. This happens most frequently in Safari but also with Excel, Word and anything else I have open. Also, when I'm scrolling down a page, suddenly the page behind it will show up. It isn't because I accidentally scrolled over there. Maybe these little glitches need to be handled by the Genius Bar at an Apple Store. I'd like to avoid that, if possible.

When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I inadvertently changed the Library name of an FCP X file in the Finder Window and now FCP X won't open. I immediately changed it back to the original name, and FCP X still won't open. The FCP X logo comes up, and then the app seems to freeze and not open.Â

i had the macbook Core 2 Duo for About 8 months and it was working great.
yesterday i left a file download in firefox for 5 hours then went back to check on it , it was working FINE, Then i got Back after 2 minutes and the screen is suddenly white and not showing anything i shut down the laptop and restarted , there was a chime and just white screen...i connected the laptop to an external monitor AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING on the external screen but the laptop screen is white!
lately, my mba has been behaving a little weirdly. its screen would suddenly become a little dimmer when the brightness in the room has not changed a bit. after a long while(15 min?), it'll turn brighter again by itself, and again without any change in the lighting of the room. the change is not big but obviously. any idea? can it be some software? or setting? or a defective light sensor?
