I've had multiple kernel panics since I updated to 10.7.4. I visited the Genius Bar yesterday and follwed their advice to do a reinstall of Lion. It reinstalled 10.7.4 and I've continued to have kernel panics. From looking through discussions, it appears to be an unresolved issue with 10.7.4 and the concensus is to roll back to 10.7.3. Can someone walk me through the process of doing so?
I do back up to a Time Machine/Capsule, which I actually suspect as being part of the problem...it doesn't seem to be working well since I updated to 10.7.4. However, it reports a back up from yesterday which would be before the reinstall but would still be 10.7.4. The strange thing is that is reports "none" for oldest backup and appears to do nothing when I click on 'enter time machine'.

I'm going to install the 10.5.8 update as it looks like it will fix a couple of issues I would have had with 10.5.7 that prevented me installing it, which is why I'm still on 10.5.6. In case it doesn't work and I do experience the issues, I want to be able to rewind back to where I was, 10.5.6. Is it as simple as picking the TM backup prior to the install and clicking 'restore' - should that manage system files as well? I'll also do a CCC backup to an external disk.

Using firmware version 1.7, everything was just fine. How does one roll back to an earlier firmware version? Does it have to be done by an Apple Tech?
Just wondering if it is possible to roll back from os x 10.9.4 to 10.9.3?

Here recently when I've been watching videos on YouTube, The Video will load to a certain point then after that it stops and when the video gets to that point it just pauses and stops. To be able to watch farther into the video I have to keep refreshing my computer every time this happens and sometimes it loads farther, and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried to reset Safari, Deleting cookies, Deleting history, but nothing worked?

I get this message "The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “______” can’t be found." every time I try and connect. I've never had this problem before updating. I'm currently running the latest firmware for my server, and have restarted both the server and my iMac.

I have recently purchased a refurbished macbook (2010). I don't have any software but I need to restore my macbook back to factory settings. I watched a couple videos on how to but there are steps they do that I can't . Like when you shut off your macbook and turn it back on holding the "options" button well I don't have that choice of "recovery hd" There is only 1 icon on my screen when pushing the options button and the only choice I have is the"macintosh hd".There aren't two choices like all the videos show ,the videos show "macintosh hd" and "recovery hd".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI changed the username, passwords, background, settings, name of the harddrive and all that, but left her music and photos on for the time being. Then I turned it off for the night. I remember something popping off before it turned off, and I think it was just saying changes had been made or something like that. And I THOUGHT I had pressed okay to save those changes....it was late. But I turn it on this morning and it's practically gone back to basics. EVERYTHING is gone...no music, no photos. The settings and background are factory status. iTunes, iPhoto, and iChat are responding like I'd never used them. The only thing that stayed was my user name, the photo, and the name of the hard drive. I've looked through the computer and havent found anything. I couldnt have restored it, could I?

I change my Energy Saver settings (Mavericks), but the changes do not remain. Once the display goes to sleep, the settings change back to other values (which aren't the same as the default settings). This happens even though I have the settings locked. Could some other utility be changing the settings? My Macbook Pro was imaged through my work - might they have set something up that can revert settings?
I've already tried trashing the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist file and restarting - that didn't solve the problem.

What happened to the title bar roll-up/minimize feature in OS9? Right-clicking or double clicking the title bar in OS9 would result in the window rolling up, showing only the title bar. It's great for reducing screen clutter while still keeping the windows on the desktop (not hidden into the dock).
It's no longer in OS X 10.5. I loved that, so much that I even installed a MS Windows version of the same feature. Is there a program or hack to achieve this in Leopard?
