I recently added photos to my Facebook account and noticed that it autofilled my copyright info that I remember entering when I set up my new iMac. However, I realized that there's a typo. Where can I find where this information is saved so I can change it? I checked my address book and the copyright information is not there. I'm new to OSX Lion so I'm at a loss with this feature

I transferred all my information from my old computer to time machine and now onto my new great iMac. I have user names that I want to delete. How do I do this? Also, is there a way to transfer photos from iphoto in another users name into my user name?

1). When I set up my iMac and Macbook Pro for the first time, it asked me for my name, address, city, zip, phone, etc.... well my address and phone has changed. How do I edit so the updated info displays into forms automatically? And can I turn off the automatic insertion of information when filling forms?
2). My Macbook Pro 2.8 came with leopard obviously. I have an iMac 2.8 that did not come with Leopard and wish to install Leopard. Can I use the OS dvd that came with my Macbook Pro to install Leopard or should I buy the $29 upgrade dvd? And can I do this without erasing all my program application files?
I'm trying to edit my address on the account and keep getting a temporarily unavailable note. Everything is up to date on software.
View 3 Replies View Relatedfile permissions - how to edit a user account that is creating files with permissions that are not wanted anymore. i understand how to reset permissions on files or folders, but i do not understand how to reset the permissions a user is "creating". ie, each time this user creates a file, the file needs to be manually edited for its permissions. so i need to edit the user's settings, but i can't find where to do that. this is a home office setup. we have two users with admin privileges. our imac is acting as a server of sorts - it holds common files that need to be edited by both users. the other user is typically working on shared files from a macbook over wifi.Â

we have a macbook pro running Leopard. My wife and I have separate user accounts on the single laptop and keep the music in one central Public folder (both or our iTunes are pointed to this public folder). For some reason, my wife is unable to make any changes to song info (album art, change genre, etc.). However, she can play the music, update her Nano, import music, etc. The only thing she can't do is make changes to the song info. This isn't an issue with my account because I am the primary user account on the computer. We are both set up as Admin and I have assigned Read/Write privileges to all files. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? Tech support/program specialist has no idea.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm going to be upgrading to a Mac Mini within the next couple of months (from a knackered Windows PC), mainly to use as a media centre, and i am going to be backing up alot of my DVD's to use and play on the Mini itself. I have downloaded the Windows version of Handbrake this morning just to see how good it is and to get a feel for it properly before i start using it on a regular basis on my new Mac Mini.However, when trying to rip a DVD, i get a message saying "File not Found" and then a message about the copyright or something? This happens after scanning the DVD (Snatch, to be specific) and it won't let me rip the DVD.. it's as if it either doesn't recognise it or is being blocked by the copyright on the DVD.

However, when I exported it to a .mp4 and uploaded it to YouTube to share on my site, I got the "copyright" warning and the audio is disabled. So anyone know what the copyright limits are as far as slideshows are concerned? What's the point of allowing us to use it if we can't share it? I also noticed that the quality is degraded due to compression... would it be better just to make my own slideshow in iMovie and share that instead (quality-wise)? Or is there a better way to share the slideshow?

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday when I turned on my iMac, it went to the login screen and then something odd happened. I saw a second account on the login list that i never made. It is called "Other: and has an icon with lines and spheres (like a networking icon). Also when I click on it, it asks for a name and password.I logged into account and went straight to System Preferences ->Accounts and there is no "Other" in the list of accounts there on the left.just my account. Is this a virus or have I been hacked? Or is this is bug?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I purchased my iMac a few years ago, I created one user account and just started using my computer. I am trying to implement a few Safe Computing practices by creating a new Admin user account and changing my original user account to a Standard user. Â
For some reason, I cannot change either of the accounts to a standard user after I type in the password. I've logged in as both and tried to change the other user profile to a standard user, but the checkbox is greyed out on both of the Admin User accounts.  Â
I can create a new standard user, but I have everyting set the way I like it on my current Admin user account. It would be much easier to have a new Admin User account and "Downgrade" my original Admin account to a standard user account. Â
why the option to change from an Admin user to a standard user would be "Greyed Out"? The support articles walk me through, what should be a few simple steps, but I can not change the settings because the checkbox is greyed out. Â

Text edit crashes every time I open it. By crash I mean stops responding when I add text and/or try to save the content. It "stops responding" EVERY TIME I try to use it.

Had a storm with a power flux and mac went down. Started it back the next day. Ran a first aid on the hard drive system first (all icons on desk top worked fine, showed all software installed, all documents, etc.) Everything checked out.
I have an Iomega external hard drive attached to use as back up. When I ran the first aid on that the system froze. I turned the computer off, waited and then rebooted. Everything came on again, but this time, my screen saver was the original one, not the one I use, all the added icons from the desk top bar were missing, back to the original ones loaded at time of purchase, all my documents are missing, as in everything except for my pictures on the hard drive, all the info stored on my desk top, everything GONE. NO sign of where anything went. The system seems to work fine as far as that goes, but there is none of the materials from the past 5 years of use. Can't even find my emails from Apple, nothing. That's all gone as well. Called up Apple support but because the warranty is no longer in effect, will have to pay for service. Am ready to do that if this fails.

This is a weird one, just started this week. I'm on OS 10.9.5.Â
Whenever I click on the EDIT tab in the toolbar in *multiple* applications: InDesign, Photoshop, MS Word, iTunes, Chrome, the application crashes. Firefox doesn't seem to be effected.Â
The only activity immediately preceding the issue were 2 software updates to MEMORY CLEAN app which I've since deleted and to Pro Video Formats which I don't *think* I can un-install.Â

I have been working on a project in iMovie for a few days, and it has been working perfectly. Today, I opened up my project and I could not play the project (the red line would move, but no picture would show up in the upper right hand corner box) and ALL of the options in the "share" tab were gray and unable to click them. Many options in the "edit" and "file" tabs were unable to be clicked as well.
Another project i completed months ago is working perfectly. The clips in the events play/show up on the window in the upper right hand corner
