Intel Mac :: Flash Player Not Working After Recent Software Update?

May 27, 2012

I have a MAC OSX 10.5.8, after the recent software update my flash player no longer works.I have read that there is a problem with security for the version of flash that I was using and this is the reason it was disabled. However, I have tried to download the most recent version from the Adobe website, but nothing happens and a message says I already have flash installed on my computer.

I have a version of flash in my HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins, and there is also one in HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins (Disabled) which I have tried to move but it only lets you copy it and it seems unable to be moved back to HD>>Library>>Plug-ins I have also tried to download the "No Script" addon for Firefox so that I can at least have flash working in Firefox, but that doesn't seem to be downloading either. I cannot now watch videos, listen to my favourite radio stations or even upload pics to ebay to create ebay listings. This problem ruining my internet enjoyment and I just hope that it can be fixed again. How dare Apple just do this without any warning or giving any info on how to easily fix this problem once flash has been disabled.

OS X :: Software Update Not Working With 10.5?

Nov 7, 2008

I bought an install disk for Leopard 10.5.1, installed it on a clean drive, and had it copy apps, files, Users, and settings from a 10.4.? volume. It went mostly ok, though it installed older versions of Safari and iTunes. I downloaded updated versions from [URL]

But when I fire off the Software Update option, it never finds any updates, even though Leopard is up to 10.5.5. It tells me it has nothing new at this time. What can I do?

Software :: Osx 10.4.11 Update Not Working?

Mar 1, 2009

I just installed OS X 10.4 and when I do the software update option, the 10.4.11 update downloads, but at the end it says that it could work because something about it could be tampered with? The 10.4 install disc is legit (black disc with silver x)

Why won't it let me update to 10.4.11? Also, my itunes won't work, it says it needs 10.4.9 or higher to work. It work with 10.3.9 which is older.

MacBook Pro :: Webcam Not Working After OS X Update

Jan 8, 2011

My iSight on my MBP used to work fine on all apps as well as video chat sites, but it recently started working only occasionally on Omegle/Chatroulette. On my end, I could see myself, but others said they couldn't see me, and their cams were just black boxes like they weren't loading. It was the same way on both Firefox and Safari, so it couldn't be a browser issue. I thought it may have been an issue that came with the newest OS X update (the one with the Mac app store from just the other day), so I reinstalled OS X from the disk that came in the box. Now chat sites don't even recognize it and I get the "webcam required" message as though I don't even have one. But, Skype and iChat can use it just fine. I even reset the SMC by holding down left shift, control, option, and power with the computer off, but nothing changed. I am running the latest Flash (ver. 10.1.102.64) according to [URL].

OS X Mavericks :: Mail Not Working After 10.9.4 Update

Jul 1, 2014

Having mail issues after the 10.9.4 update this week? Neither my iCloud or Cox email account is able to send or receive email after this update.  The small exclamation mark appears to the right of each account, both for incoming and sent email...as well as the Junk email.  The error says something about not being able to connect to Port 993.

I tried disabling SSL in both accounts (which automatically changes Mail to a different port) but saw no change. I know email works on both of these accounts as I'm able to access them on my iDevices, so it has to be something specific to my iMac.

I would like to update my Aperture version so that its compatible with OSX but am unable to do so. OS X :: Keyboard / Trackpad Not Working After Software Update

Dec 25, 2010

My macbook pro's (late 2008) keyboard and trackpad stopped working about a month ago. I've been trying to get it working again, but to no avail. It initially stopped working when I updated my software. It got stuck on the startup screen after restarting from the install, so I had to hard shut down and restart. When I turned it back on my keyboard and trackpad didn't work.

I restarted again and it worked. Since then it's been going in and out and now it's finally stopped working all together. Since I'm pretty sure it's a software issue I wanted to reformat my computer. Problem is that I can't hold down the option key to boot it from my install disk! And I had to type all this from my usb mouse, and type each key on the keyboard viewer.

I waited for 10 minutes, then manually restarted the Mac. It came up, but then when I went to open Mail, I got an error that it couldn't open. I then clicked on ok, and tried to open another app, and it wouldn't open. I tried with several apps with the same result. I downloaded the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.2.dmg and ran it with no problems, and the Apps will still not open?

MacBook Pro :: Keyboard Not Working Properly After 10.6.4 Update

Jun 23, 2010

I updated to 10.6.4 the other day on my mbp 17" 2.93 mid 2009 model the other day. Since, my computer has developed two problems. first and most annoying, the keyboard doesn't work properly anymore. Shift keys don't work, then they do work. One side doesn't then the other side does. option and command do the same thing. Is this a documented problem? I searched and saw it was prior to 10.6.4, but I never had any problems until this update. Also, when I shut my computer, instead of going to sleep now. It goes crazy, fans jack up to full speed and it gets super hot. Doesn't sleep at all. Funny enough before the update, when i closed the lid the computer would go to sleep and wouldn't wake up.
