im creating a new setup for my desk and i wanted to get a black wireless/bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my mac. reason i want black is the monitor and speakers are black so i thought it would go nice.

View 24 Replies View RelatedSo my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
The story behind it - I used it a bit at home, connected to the AC adapter, then closed it and put it in a laptop bag (quite tight on both sides - like a sleeve [you have to slide the computer out - it doesn't open]).
Then it was in the bag for 10-15minutes, I took it out, opened it up and this came up! (while it was like this, I could see the black mouse pointer and move it about just fine)
I did a hard restart, and then everything was fine.
I'm planning to make my Mighty Mouse black. the right procedure to use with spray paint, and what specific kind of paint to buy (glossy, primer, etc.)?

A bizarre thing: when I wake my Cube from sleep, the mouse pointer seems to have converted itself into a black 1" square. As soon as I click in a program it changes back to an arrow.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a refurbished 24 inch imac from the noticed when the computer is idle (black screen), my wired mouse does not work. When I pull the cable out of the usb port on the imac, the computer screen comes on and then I reinsert the cable back into the usb port in the computer to use the wired mouse (wired mouse works fine after I reinsert the cable back into the usb port).Could this problem be associated with the wired mouse or with the usb ports on the imac?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not have a mousepad with my magic mouse, because everyone I have tried just doesn't track very well at all. My wood desk seems to be perfect so I have been using that. However after a day of use I have all this black residue junk on my desk that I have to get out the spray cleaner and clean it up, which requires a lot of scrubbing. Has anyone else seen this? It seems like the black rubber pads are rubbing off on my desk....if anyone has had this problem what did you do to fix it? New Magic Mouse?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2008, 24-inch iMac. This problem started after I installed an OS X Mavericks update (and has continued). Basically, after the screen is asleep for a while, if you come back and move the mouse / tap the keyboard, the desktop never reappears. The screen stays black but the mouse cursor shows up and you can drag it around. I've seen some similar issues that said they could get the app switcher, but that never happens for me. Just mouse cursor and black screen, no matter how long you try to wait it out or tap buttons. The only solution is a cold restart, although I think in the past I was able to fix by turning off energy saver settings for putting the display to sleep. It doesn't happen every time, I'd say it happens over 50% of the time. The problem actually kicked in with one particular App Store update of Mavericks. I believe it was 10.9.3 if I recall correctly.

I have the Moshi Palmguard/Trackpad cover on my Black MacBook and would like to now protect the keyboard as well. I don't want those shiny marks to start showing up on my space bar. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook Pro from December 2007. Currently, when I push the power button to start it up, it makes the initial sound (although sometimes this initial sound is abbreviated, like it's cut off mid sound) but it never sounds the follow-up majestic-type chime. Also, the screen remains black, and the keyboard is unresponsive (The Caps doesn't light up, for instance). The light on the front comes on faintly, but does not blink as in sleep mode. And the fan comes on as well, again faintly, not as in overdrive.
And I'm assuming this next part is coincidental but I'll relay it anyway: The first hiccup with this was yesterday when, in sleep mode, I pushed the front release button to open the MCP and then immediately afterward accidentally closed it again. Upon opening it for the second time the screen remained black. I manually shut it down holding the power button. After two or three times of turning it on and off manually, the majestic chime thing finally sounded and it booted properly. It worked fine then throughout the rest of the day when I would come back to it until last night when it failed again.
I just got a new classic MBP 2.5 and I have one problem.
When in System preferences and and try to open "Keyboard and Mouse", it just says; Loading Keyboard and Mouse. Then nothing happens and System Preferences freezes and i have to quit and re-open it to use it.
Everything else in there works fine.

I searched for an answer but I am quite unsure how to do this. Basically I plan to get a 24" external monitor to mainly use with my MacBook Pro. Also I would like to get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. But I would also like to use all of them with my PC if/when I decide to use it. I have used KVM Switches before but never with bluetooth. Does anyone know a good solution for this? Should I just get a wired mouse and keyboard?

After i installed it it killed all my keyboard and mouse devices and now i can't connect anything and to move back to Mac OSX, I tried to connect many other keyboard and mouses and nothing worked. I've been wondering if there is anyway to move back to Mac OSX And to fix my devices on the Windows by pressing anything in the keyboard while restart or so.

My 2009 MBP would have problems shutting down or restarting. On a shutdown, it would appear to off, black screen and no lights, but if you tried pressing the power button nothing happened. I had to hold the power button to turn it completely, then press it again to startup.Restarts had the same behaviour, it would get to a black screen and I would have to hold the power button and then press it again to startup.I ended up taking this MBP back for another problem, and they replaced it with a 2011 MBP (since I had recurring logic board that failed a few times).Anyway, I swapped the SSD from my old mac into the new one, and I have the exact same behaviour!!Seems to be some corrupt settings or something. So I booted from a Mac installation disc, wiped my hard drive and reinstalled the OS, then I restored from Time Machine, and unticked the option to restore settings.I want to also add, that my backlit keyboard isn't working either.I tried resetting the SMC, but the power light on my charger didn't cycle orange/green, so I'm not sure if it worked. I tried multiple time, following Apple instructions.I also reset the PRAM, which did work.

I just bought a macbook pro, and I installed bootcamp and had everything running perfectly. I installed the drivers, and then I let windows 7 update while I went to sleep, when I woke up the macbook was turned off, then I tried to turn it on, and it sounded like it was about to boot up, but the screen is blank there is no cursor, it looks like it's not even on, and I think the keyboard is unresponsive because when I press caplocks it doesn't light up.

I don't really like the Apple keyboard and the mighty mouse is pretty bad. I am currently using a slim Kensington keyboard, which I must say is a very good keyboard. My mouse is a logitech G9 gaming mouse which I really love.
Question is will I be able to use both of them on my Mac Mini by just plugging it in to the USB ports on the back of the Mini? I really want to keep them, they are both black and I like to match my desktop. If I can't use them, is there a way to program them to work with my Mini? If there is a way to program them, how do I do it?
I'm thinking of acquiring a new iMac (the model offered this week). I would like to retain my USB PC mouse and keyboard.
