I am in love with the 30" cinema display, but according to technical support today, my setup is not compatible (supposedly, but the person on the phone didn't sound to sure). I have a mini DVI, but the 30" requires a dual DVI. I think the 23" display requires DVI, which I can attain with an adapter. Does anyone have suggestions for what I can use with my computer? May 3, 2010I am on my new 27" iMac last night when all of a sudden the display froze and pix-elated for a second and then went black and a few seconds turned back on with an error message at the bottom right screen saying my display adapter had stopped . . . . .
I was in Windows 7 64bit Professional at the time. I also noticed that Apple is wanting download a newer version of Boot Camp which I will download tonight!
I went to the ATI website and found a new driver dated 4-2010 and downloaded it. All seems well but was wondering if anyone has had the same issue?

As a cheep axx i looked on eBay for best deals... and happen to stumble upon an old G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) Dual 500MHz tower. I understand that is a old model, but the budget constrains gave me a no better choice... $300-400. For the first Apple it is a start.To make it up i got her a 23" Cinema Display.My dilemma as you see is the old vs new technology. I have not yet received the merchandise, but as i read I'm up for a surprise.
1. Do i need a power adapter for the display?
2. Do i need a ADC converter (or something like it)?
3. What (cheep) Graphic card will be a plausible fit to avoid conversions?
4. Will that card work with my motherboard (if there is one inside lol)

Apr 22, 2009I got the Aluminum MacBook late 2008 version and as most should know that the macbook comes with a Mini-Display Port. Today i went to buy a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter because all my monitors at home have the DVI slot. I hooked it up and everything works fine as it should be. But next week i have a presentation to do in University and apparently my uni only have the VGA slot available, so therefore i want to know if it would work by hooking up my macbook with the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter, then use a DVI-D to VGA adapter and finally a VGA cable to the Projector for the presentation?

It's worked in the past with linksys routers that had no security. When I set up the airport, I set security by default, but I want to remove it from the guest account. I just can't find the way to configure the guest account.

Sep 27, 2010I am actually trying to decide if to get the old 30" cinema display or not.I'm a graphic designer and my fear is that apple will never make a matte display...Here in Italy it's still sold in the apple store. I have the unibody macbook pro, and so I've been reading through reviews now for a week ... my biggest concern is the dual-link dvi adapter... I still see posts (August or September 2010) with people experiencing issues, even with the firmware 1.3!I wanted to ask you people if I should go for it or dig the 27 inch even though it's glossy... I have a few people in the office (also graphic designers) working on iMacs and got used to the glossy.

Is the connection cable from the back of the LED display much shorter than the 30-inch ACD, so much so that the Mac Pro needs to be positioned on one's desk next to the display rather than somewhere underneath the desk? How long exactly does this cable measure?
