Hardware :: Finding Apple A Multitouch Physical Keyboard?

(First of all for the people who will not read the thread, but just post away) I DO NOT MEAN LIKE THE iPad, BUT USING GESTURES ON A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD Okay, would you buy a keyboard where the keys are coated in the Apple Trackpads' glass and have touch sensors built-in. It would allow you to do things like swipe three fingers in the same row to start a new paragraph and automatically indent, Finger swipe up for select all, some undo commands, and a lot of other typing related gestures.

I'm bad at Photoshop. I really wish for the 3 user customizable keys, personally I would use the top two buttons for previous/next Space, and the bottom key to switch to my iTunes. And the trackpad to the right could be used for customizable multitouch gestures, so you can move around spaces easily, scroll with 2 fingers if you have a desktop and not a laptop, etc. I think it's very important that Apple includes multitouch for desktop users and not just laptop people.

I'm wondering if the Rev. A MacBook Air's have the new features using the multitouch trackpads (like four-finger expose and all that)? I remember reading somewhere that the rev. A MBA's have the same technology driving their trackpads as the new MB's/MBP's.

Imagine a keyboard with several of those multitouch displays instead of keys. They could be mappable via software for instant language switching, act as widgets, and give you multitouch gestures (recognizing the number of fingers that touch the keys and how they move). If Apple could keep this keyboard under $300 and release an SDK, I would be in line on day one to buy ti for my Mac. What else would you want from this keyboard, or do you think that this display is for something else entirely? I know that there is a keyboard close to this that uses non-touchscreen oled's, but I have forgot the name of it.

i got a kensington bluetooth usb 2.0 adaptor since my mac pro desktop does not have boothtooth...
when i reboot or lose power to the computer, i lose the connectivity of the keyboard when i turn on the computer back on...i cannot find any downloads or help from kensington nor apple..

Apple has broken its decade-long chain of terrible mouse designs with the new multitouch, wireless Magic Mouse, although its multitouch features are somewhat limited in functionality. If previous versions of Apple's Bluetooth wireless mice and the sticky trackball of the Mighty Mouse have left you skeptical of the company's ability to design a desirable mouse, you may be in for a surprise with the new Magic Mouse. There's no real magic; just a highly accurate laser optical mouse paired with a hard plastic, multitouch surface that supports smooth document scrolling, right clicking, screen zoom, and two finger swipes. Given that Apple has pioneered practical applications of multitouch technologies in consumer products, you might have high hopes for the new mouse's multitouch surface. While scrolling up and down and left and right is smooth and satisfying, the surface of the mouse isn't big enough to act like a trackpad, so don't expect it to act like one.
Unlike Apple's multitouch trackpads, there's no provisions for touching to click (which makes little sense on a mouse), or for fancy gestures like four finger expose. You'd be hard pressed to even get four fingers in contact with the mouse's surface at once. Instead of trying to make a mouse with a conventional trackpad surface, Apple has delivered a usable Mighty Mouse that primarily uses touch sensitivity in place of a scroll ball. Touch to scroll This part works very well; there's no small ball to target, so you can freely move your fingers anywhere on the surface to scroll within documents. You can even scroll by touch without the mouse making any contact on a surface. There's also an option for scrolling with momentum, which provides a little scrolling inertia when you flick, similar to the iPhone. Scrolling within documents or menus (such as the slides list in Keynote) seems appropriately accelerated at the default speed setting. However, trying to scroll within Cover Flow requires subtle finger action, because the touch surface is tremendously sensitive (and Cover Flow exaggerates this sensitivity). Your first attempt to scroll in iTunes will likely whip you through a couple hundred albums. With some practice and patience, you'll be able to scroll album by album with finger motions that seem almost imperceptible......

Can someone explain to me why Apple has refused to make a wireless version of their full size keyboard with the numeric keypad? Their wired version is great, but I can't stand wires. When my full size white Apple keyboard went to the sandbox in the sky last year, I dropped $120 for a brand new one I found online (high price to the fact Apple didn't make them anymore then), and now that one has just taken a dump -- I spilt literally three drops of water on it and the space bar stopped working completely.
Now I'm stuck with Apple's micro wireless keyboard until they come out with the full size wireless one - if ever.

I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. Volume up...volume down...

I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were regarding these two keyboards. I know I can't get the Wireless Pro new anymore, however I can get it used for $20 from someone I know.
The new aluminum one however, I can get for about $40 used or just buy a new one for $70. I'm looking to buy a used one so it's pretty much the Wireless Pro for $20 vs the Wireless Aluminum for $40.
This will be going towards a set-up with my MBP which will be on an mstand, with an external monitor. I've already gotten the Magic Mouse so I'm trying to find a nice Bluetooth keyboard to compliment it.

I just bought a black MacBook. I've searched the forums but all the threads I've found on this topic seem to be dead ends.
I'm already planning on getting a Moshi palmrest to keep the top of the bottom case from getting all oily and shiny.
I'm also thinking of getting a Radtech Screensaverz to keep the keyboard from imprinting onto the screen and to wipe down the screen and case.
I would like something to keep my keyboard clean as well.
Right now, I'm looking at the iSkin and zCover:

I noticed on the iSkin site that they say the pre-printed covers (which is what I think I'd like) do not fit the MacBook revision that came out in November, though.

I own an eMac (my first one) and overall, I'm extremely pleased with the machine. However, the fancy-appearing keyboard leaves much to be desired, and I'm looking for a new one. The Matias tactile pro keyboard looks promising, as does the Kensington, but I would be interested in everyone's opinion as to which keyboard has the best "feel." I'm not interested in bells and whistles, just basic utility and keyboard keys striking quality for long sessions on my word processor.

I bought my Macbook in February 2008, right after the revision (system profile says Model Identifier: Macbook 4,1) and I have the 2 finger multitouch scroll, but I had been reading that SL would enable all of the multitouch gestures for Macbooks that already supported at least the 2 finger gesture. Did this end up being a rumor that was proven wrong, or did something go south in my install? I just did the upgrade, but had been thinking about wiping everything out and doing a clean install.

Camino is my favorite browser, but its one big problem is that is uses up way too much of my memory. Is there any way to make it use more virtual memory and less physical - i.e., a memory quota? What would be the repercussions of doing this be?

I'm planning to upgrade my 17" MPB soon (trying to hold on for Arrandale, but we'll see how the old one holds up). Not that it will make much difference in my decision, but does anyone know if the 8GB RAM limit in the current MBPs is due to the fact that the largest currently-available DIMMs that will fit in the MBP are 4GB each; or if it's due to a limitation in the way the computer/chipset addresses the memory? In other words, once someone develops an 8GB DIMM that will fit in the MBP's slots, will it be possible to upgrade to 12 or 16GB of RAM?

I've seen a few threads regarding changing apple keyboards to the 'dvorak' stup. I looked into it a little bit, and was thinking about trying it out just for fun. I type about 70-80 words per minute with the qwerty setup.
What are the main advantages of dvorak, and how long does it take most people to learn? Would it be worth me mastering, even though I am pretty fast on a regular keyboard?

I use my laptop on a stand and when typing (only small tasks, i.e. a bit of facebook) I find it a normal to reach up and uncomfortably hit the keys. Is there software that would allow me to type say, with my mouse by hitting on screen letters/numbers. I googled for this but couldn't find anything. Does such software exist?

Some Googling and some searches here have led me to a bunch of discontinued products from Adesso, and a bunch of crappy keyboards that state they're only compatible with Windows/Vista. I need to find something that has a built-in touchpad that's Mac compatible like the DiNovo edge touchpad is, but with a plug-in USB option rather than Bluetooth.

i'm looking for a tiny software that would let me associate a keyboard shortcut to a mouse button.
I used to do that in Windows with AutoHotKey and all I find on Mac OS X are complex applications.
To be more specific i just want to generate a Apple+T shortcut to open up a new tab when pressing the fourth button of my Microsoft Arc mouse.

I am getting a new IMac with a new aluminum keyboard and it looks perfect. When i start using it I realize that my shortcut key does not work anymore. My shortcut key consists of F1 - F12 is now assigned to the Mac OS function, I don't find a way to them off.
