Hardware :: Fidning Wireless Keyboard With Built-in Touchpad For OS X?
Nov 29, 2007I'm installing OS X on my Apple TV (because I got sick of the regular ATV OS being stupid about network mounts), so I thought I'd take advantage of having a real OS on there and toss a keyboard in the living room in case we want to browse the web or something. I don't want a mouse laying around, just a slim wireless (RF) keyboard with a built-in touchpad. Anyone have any recommendations?

Oct 19, 2009Some Googling and some searches here have led me to a bunch of discontinued products from Adesso, and a bunch of crappy keyboards that state they're only compatible with Windows/Vista. I need to find something that has a built-in touchpad that's Mac compatible like the DiNovo edge touchpad is, but with a plug-in USB option rather than Bluetooth.

Nov 3, 2009Can someone explain to me why Apple has refused to make a wireless version of their full size keyboard with the numeric keypad? Their wired version is great, but I can't stand wires. When my full size white Apple keyboard went to the sandbox in the sky last year, I dropped $120 for a brand new one I found online (high price to the fact Apple didn't make them anymore then), and now that one has just taken a dump -- I spilt literally three drops of water on it and the space bar stopped working completely.
Now I'm stuck with Apple's micro wireless keyboard until they come out with the full size wireless one - if ever.
OS X :: Keyboard And Touchpad Failure?
Oct 21, 2009I have been a Mac convert for the last 18 months and am the proud owner of a Macbook 4.1 Dual Core, 2.4GHz using MAC OSX v 10.5.8. For no apparent reason, neither the Keyboard or the Touchpad respond and I end up using a Mighty Mouse and Wireless Keyboard which work perfectly ok. To make matters worse, this issue comes and go's without warning. I can go two months with everything ok, then suddenly it all stops working and then suddenly it's all ok again. It is almost as if there is a way of disabling these functions which I have inadvertently done. I have re-loaded the operating system which has not achieved anything.

Nov 9, 2009My wife's macbook air (rev. A) just developed this weird problem. She is putting MBA into sleep mode on battery, and the next time when MBA wakes up from sleep mode, the trackpad and keyboard does not work at all. She restarted the MBA and nothing has changed. Luckily the logitech bluetooth mouse and the usb port is still working. We are running OSX leopard dual boot with Vista ultimate 32 bits using bootcamp. But because the "option" key is not working, we don't know how to boot into windows. It is only 8 month old and we have bought the three year apple care. However, she is in China now, I am not sure if the warranty service there is as good.
What do your guys think the problem might be and what should I do about it? She don't have a superdrive with her and if we want to re-install OS, we don't want to lose the windows partition.

Jan 17, 2010Well I finally got an adapter to attach my Macbook to my TV. Although now I need a keyboard so I don't have to get up to type (In my defense It is really a hassle to walk across the room to hit pause). I wanted to get one with a built in mouse so it isn't a hassle.
I was looking at many but only found some that worked with Windows. So I am asking if anyone here has one and do you recommend it? And I want to stay away from the joysticks and lean towards a touchpad or trackball.

Aug 19, 2010I was just wondering what all of your thoughts were regarding these two keyboards. I know I can't get the Wireless Pro new anymore, however I can get it used for $20 from someone I know.
The new aluminum one however, I can get for about $40 used or just buy a new one for $70. I'm looking to buy a used one so it's pretty much the Wireless Pro for $20 vs the Wireless Aluminum for $40.
This will be going towards a set-up with my MBP which will be on an mstand, with an external monitor. I've already gotten the Magic Mouse so I'm trying to find a nice Bluetooth keyboard to compliment it.

Feb 15, 2008Now that I have my air I'm looking around for storage. I thought it would be nifty if there was a wireless NAS solutions that I could just carry around in my laptop pack and have the Air find it automatically with out the need for using the USB port. It doesn't look like there are any that are battery powered (yet), and some of them are far to clunky to be a portable option. Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

I got my parents' place setup with an AEBS, and I was wondering if there's some major reason I shouldn't go with one. Mar 13, 2010I have a macbook that is not wireless n enabled. i know i could take apart the macbook and install a new airport card that is and that would work (and probably will one day soon) for the time being would a usb adapter work the same?
Also airport seems to drop its connection pretty frequently and doesn't like to work more than a few feet away from the docking station. I'm hoping it's because the airport card is old. Would an adapter fix this as well?
Hardware :: How To Use Wireless Keyboard With An IMac
Mar 17, 2010I've been using the wireless keyboard to the new iMad for a couple of weeks now and I don't seem to be acclimating to it very well. When held next to a full size keyboard, it is the same size; however, it doesn't seem to be when I'm typing. I keep missing keys or striking the wrong keys.
The short stroke of the keys is disconcerting.
I miss the number pad and the home, end, and other keys under the (old) F13, F14, and F15 keys. The lack of numbering of the Function keys is also a pain. Having to use the fn with other keys is a pain too.
I can't seem to get used to the size and position of the arrow keys. I miss having a specific delete key. Having to use the fn with backspace is irritating.
Why do I continue to use it? Novelty, I guess. Anyway, what I'd like to know is if any of you guys started out the same way and eventually actually like it better than the old style keyboard?
Should I continue trying or just say fuggit and buy a wired keyboard.? You needn't answer that. That's a rhetorical question.
I realize that a laptop has the same idiosyncrasies and everyone gets used to them.
I DO like the new mouse, but I still prefer the 8 button Logitech. If the new mouse only had a back button, I'd find it more to my liking.
