Jul 18, 2010I am running mac os X version 10.5.8 and I find that mail will download not all my mail and will not send from any of my mailboxes.
I have set up mail with my googlemail account my mobileme account and my yahoo accounts. all are set up as stp and I have set them up according to all the online help lines. I have had mail set up for many months now, and have been trying to fix this problem for a long time now off and on.
One thing that I have tried is changing the outgoing port number from the default to 587, but still no joy.

Mar 16, 2012I have a mobileme account with a further 3 names added using mail only. Because of legacy I cannot move to OS Lion at the moment. Can we still use our mac.com/me.com email addresses after June without signing up to icloud. If one or more of the email only account holders update to Lion and icloud, can they transfer their emai accounts without the main account holder doing so. If we all have other apple devices ie iphone and ipads, and sign up to icloud, can we then use our mobile me mail addresses also on our OS Leopard macs.

It was working before when i had the same settings on my earlier pop server as the outgoing server but now this is not allowing me 2 add the other 2 accounts for outgoing. Nov 19, 2010I have several accounts operating through Apple Mail (three, to be specific). This morning, my new messages stopped downloading. There isn't any problem connecting to the internet, and Mail seems to think that it is appropriately communicating with the server, but my various inboxes have a dozen new messages that haven't downloaded.

Apr 19, 2012I'm using Mail 3.6 on OS 10.5.8. I have three email accounts I manage through Mail. My main email account has stopped receiving emails. I can still send but not receive. My other two email accounts both send and receive just fine.
Mail had prompted me to import messages after a restart right before this account stopped receiving mails. All of the emails (from all three accounts) imported successfully and I'm sure what prompted Mail having to reimport emails in the first place. This main email account had grown quite large, around 46,000 messages and I've since got that number down to 28,000.

1. making sure that the outgoing mail server are using default ports(25,465,587)
2. clicking mailbox -> synchronize all accounts
3. clicking mailbox -> take all accounts offline, then mailbox -> take all accounts online

Jun 2, 2014I went to send a message from my apple mail (gmail account) and it won't send. Says smtp.gmail.com is offline. I didn't change any settings but when I went in to check them, they were all gone. I added back smtp.gmail.com under description and my complete email address under server name. I then went to advanced settings and made sure the Use default ports (25, 465, 587) was checked and also Use Secure Sockets Layer was checked. I chose Password for authentication and added my complete email address for user name with my password. It still says I'm offline and won't sent a message.

I want my iPhone SMSs to be sent and received through my computer because sometimes it is difficult to run an SMS chat with tiny keyboard of iPhone instead better doing it with my computer keyboard. I opened my computer's Messages/ Preferences/Accounts, tried a lot to configure my phone number and build the bridge to send and receive SMSs from my computer instead of iPhone, but unfortunately couldn't find the proper steps to do it.

Mar 10, 2009Hey I just picked up the new AEBS and so far I'm liking it. I have istat menus installed and have the network activity showing and since connecting to my AEBS, I am constantly sending 0.1k/sec and receiving 0.3k/sec. Anyone happen to know why? It's happening on my laptop and iMac so I'm sure it's supposed to happen but the OCD in me has to know why lol. Seems like the AEBS keeps sending out data to my modem too because the ethernet light on my modem never stops now.

Aug 24, 2014My mail program has stopped receiving mail from the server, Cincinnati Bell, zoomtown. I have had numerous weird sent items that come back as undeliverable to people not in my contacts. When i try to log in it tells me that my password is incorrect. I tried to check on webmail and CB is saying they have locked my account for suspicous activity and i should remove the " virus" and they will reopen my account. I thought that macs did not get viruses.

Dec 10, 2008ichat seems to not be receiving my messages, when I write and hit enter I can only see the ichat bubble (attachment below), my friend can see my message but when he sends a message back I still see the same bubble, doesn't even look like he's sent a message.

I'm using a MacBook Pro and running Mac OS X 10.5.6
I set up macmail and used it successfully for 2-3 days. All of a sudden I stopped receiving some of my emails. I didn't realize it for 2 days, since I was still receiving some emails. My husband mentioned sending me one I hadn't received, which is when I realized the problem. I checked my old machine which is still running Windows and Outlook and the messages were all there. I've looked through some forums, but can't find anyone with the same situation. It seems everyone is either receiving all or none.
I can't find a commonality between the messages I'm not receiving. I've tried Connection Doctor which reports everything is normal.
