I'm just curious as to how many people use mice in their left hand. I was looking at some old macintosh pictures and a lot of them have the mouse on the 'other' side. I'm left handed, yet I have grown up with right handed mice and it feels awkward to use a mouse in my left hand now. Does anyone out there use mice in their left hand, or has everyone conformed to a right handed world?

I've had my mac for about three years now and everything was working fine. After I installed lion, I notice that this started to happen. I don't lose any of my information though when it does that. It just goes into a sleep mode I guess? Anyways, is this a feature from the lion update? Something standard?

Aperture shows no adjustments from the left-hand panel, not WB, not exposure, contrast, color, nada. I can crop, rotate, clone, straighten, take out the red-eye, but that's it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just dragging some items around the desktop into some folders in the Finder and I guess something got messed up. When I was finished moving things around, a small square icon appeared in the left hand corner of the screen that cannot be dragged to another location or deleted. Whenever I click, it a small screen pops up momentarily, saying that it's going to open a file (I deleted the file) and nothing happens. After I deleted the file, the small square box just contains a picture of a question mark. I'm trying to get rid of it, but I don't know how to.

I've had this iMac about a year now, and i have had this problem for a while but thought i'de leave it for abit and see if it heals its self. As sometimes the line is more visible than other times and sometimes it's not even there!
I have 2 pictures which i snapped with my iPhone, so i will link you too them.
The line is not majorly visible, but it is just annoying considering i payed �1000 for this iMac.

Having now added a GMail IMAP account to Mail, I find that it's folders come at the bottom of the window, with 'Mailboxes', 'Trash', 'Reminders', 'On My MAc', RSS above the GMail Top level mailbox and therfore the subsequent cascaded mailboxes...

I'm trying to use iphoto but when I put my cursor over a photo it has a small flag in the upper left hand corner and a downward arrow in the lower right corner.I've used it lots but it just started doing this. My events pull up just not a single photo.

I have only recently started noticing this, it is mostly visible on the white screen at boot up but just faintly noticed it now against my background.
It is a fading black line going down the left hand side of the screen, it starts at the top kind of fades in the middle then comes out again.
I honestly have no idea what this is, i will try catch a picture on my phone soon and post it up.

UPDATE: Sometimes the line is clear, sometimes it is faint and even sometimes it isn't even there!

View 12 Replies View Related my mouse arrow cursor changes at will - it becomes an ibeam or a hand (like the one used when pointing to a link) and then will switch back to an arrow. I use a Logitech wireless mouse with plugged in USB receiver. I turn the mouse off whenever I stop work. I changed the batteries on the Logitech mouse yesterday and it had no effect. I tried using the Magic Mouse (which I love, but which has problems of its own - it eats batteries for breakfast and it's not consistently recognized when I wake up the iMac and I have to resort to the Logitech mouse to get going so I rarely use it) to see if it did the same thing and it does. I am still running 10.6.6 and haven't added any software or done anything strange. I did update Firefox to 9.0.1 a while back, but things were fine a long time after I did that.

I just noticed this why my computer was booting up today because its only visible against a white background, but there is some grey textures in the lower right hand corner of my display that resemble the strands of a carpet, in that they are fine lines that do not go straight up, but curve. The other thing it kind of looks like is frost. Anyways, anyone know what this is and if I can do anything about it?

Anyone in this similar predictcament before? did you learn to use it with your left hand or something?
i have a wireless mighty mouse for 9 months and today i had a serious problem. I had the casual problem with the trackball but i used to rub it on a clean peace of paper and it was fixed. When i done this today it won't right or left click. All it does is open the dashboard which this is the middle button. When i set off the middle button it can left click but not right. What the heck is going on? What should i do? Can it be fixed or do i need to go on an Apple Store and get a new one? God i hate this mouse. By rubbing it on a paper, the trackball is now scratched. Will this affect my warranty?

Thats a little far back for a left click so I'm doing it when I don't want to. Btw, I made the left button my primary button coming from a windows PC background. After using it last night and playing around with the features, I noticed the scroll ball wouldn't scroll to the left for the most part. Occasionally, if i pushed on the ball, it sometimes would move a bit, but not at the level of ease it scrolled right or up/down. Today, I returned it and got a replacement. I am experiencing the same problem, only with scrolling left. I have read about scrolling issues after use, but not right out of the box.

I have a friend that has a Blackbook CD 2ghz. Anyways, he told me that after he applied some updates (10.4.11) his macbook trackpad stop registering clicks. At the beginning we thought it was the click button, but after we connected a mouse to his MB, we figured out it may be a software problem because his mac is not even registering left clicks, only right clicks with a mouse. I already tried smc reset and pram reset with no avail. Also we tried to make a new account but same problem happens. I think the only way to fix this problem is to do an archive and install, but he does not have his recuperation cd's.

When I leave my computer for 10+ minutes, when I come back and use the mouse it erases the screen that I am mousing over. The only way I have been able to fix is to reboot the computer. Macbook Pro. OSX Lion. This happens both for my external logitech mouse and the built-in mousepad motion.
