Hardware :: Razer Imperator Mouse - Control Panel Doesn't Work?
Sep 9, 2010
I just got a Razer Imperator mouse and downloaded the version 1.0 drivers for it from Razer. The control panel has settings for sensitivity, acceleration, polling rate and the lighting (scroll wheel and logo), but none of them work.
I can change any setting I like, but when I close and reopen the control panel, they are reset to default. The mouse is working but the sensitivity/tracking speed isn't quite right, but nothing I do seems to affect it.
Also when I restart my computer, I'm told I have either no mouse plugged in or have a keyboard plugged in that is not recognised. Unplugging and re-plugged the mouse fixes that.
Is anyone else using this mouse? Does the control panel work for you, or do you use some other control panel/driver/extension?
I have a macpro with OSX on one drive and windows 7 on a partition of another drive. Both systems work fine and I boot into windows by holding the option key down. What is odd is if I go to the system preferences startup disk my windows install does not show up. I did move my windows partition a while ago to a new drive. I used bootcamp to create the partition and winclone to move the data. It's not a big deal not having the option in the preference pain but would be nice. If I am in windows and go to the bootcamp control panel both OS X and Windows are there.
I just upgraded from Tiger to Leopard. When I had the old Tiger software installed, I was able to zoom in and out on my screen by holding down the Control key while scrolling with my mouse.
But since I installed Leopard (not Snow Leopard, since I am using a G5 Tower PowerPC), this key combination no longer works.
This former screen zoom feature is important to me because I am a graphic designer with a neurological condition (tremors in my hands) that makes selecting fine points in graphic applications difficult unless I zoom in.
Note: using the normal graphics apps magnifying glass feature does not help me, because the select points still stay small, but using the old screen zoom method made the points larger and easier for me to select.
I am in the market for a new mouse for my Mac. Starcraft 2 is just around the corner and my old mouse just isn't making the cut anymore. I have narrowed down my choices to two mice. Apples new Magic Mouse or The Razer Death Adder I am a classic mac fanboy and really want to play with the new magic mouse, but I have had my eye on the deathadder for quite some time. I know as far as performance the Deathadder has better tracking, but I cant seem to make up my mind on this one. They are pretty close in price, so I need some advice/help deciding. What do you guys/gals think about this one? I am also open to suggestions on other mice.
It has been a week since I started to research a new gaming mouse for my MBP. After going through more reviews than I can remember, I boiled it up to the following 2: Razer Orochi and Logitech Performance Mouse MX.
Orochi keeps my precious USB ports free (Bluetooth) has a coolest design and better DPI, although the "sleep in 2sec + jerking" issue seems to be really annoying when gaming. The Performance Mouse MX has zero lag/jerking issues, great ergonomics and works on glass! The downside is the USB port sacrifice required by the 2.4GHZ receptor.
Before throwing the coin on this, I would like to know if anyone has MBP hands-on experience with these fellows.
Control-click has stopped working for me in Safari 5's content area.
It works fine when clicking on Safari's toolbars and it also works fine in every other app including Finder.
A complete reinstall of Safari 5 didn't solve the problem.
I tried deleting every preference file and cache file I could find but that didn't help. And fixing various permissions and other things in Onyx had no effect.
I don't know if that's the right way to say it, but on my current 2.8 15" my razer Carcharias mic doesn't work. Nor does my other older logitech POS mic.
I have two computers (Mac and PC) connected to a cable modem via Belkin router. Both can connect to the Internet.
My Power Mac G5 2Ghz has two internal hard drives. My primary boot drive has Leopard 10.5.6 and the secondary has Tiger 10.4.11.
I had the built in Firewall set for "Allow only Essential Services" then I changed it back to "Allow all incoming connections" before I installed Netbarrier X5. My access to the internet and router/control panel was fine.
Then suddenly my G5 (Leopard) was no longer able to log into the router/control panel only the PC (Windows XP). Tried Safari and Firefox and both come back with the error message "Safari can't connect to server."
When I boot the G5 into "Safe Mode" it is the same thing, can connect to the internet but have no access to the router control panel. So it can't be Netbarrier.
But If I my G5 reboot with my second drive that has Tiger. My access to the router's control panel is restored.
I am new to Mac and need some help. I just installed norton antivirus for my mac and the software accidentally created duplicate icons in the top right control panel. I am wanting to delete one of these but haven't been successful. I already tried the command and drag off but they don't move, they are stuck there. Any remedies to this? How can I get them off the top right control panel?
I just reinstalled SL, and I cannot get spaces to work with mouse buttons. The mouse does work, and spaces works with keyboard keys. I really want it on my mouse though (mouse button #5).
it is NOT an apple mighty, it's a microsoft X5 gaming mouse.
I just got a Magic Mouse. It works perfectly in OS X, but when I boot into Windows XP, it doesn't work at all. I read that the Bluetooth Update 1.0 is for the new iMacs only. But I read that others got the mouse working, just without the scrolling.
I have installed Far Cry on bootcamp (Windows 7), I run Far Cry, it works perfectly except the mouse doesn't work in game, only works when your on the menu.. Keyboard works fine though
I just got my new Magic Mouse and don't get the multitouch to work. Only a "real" click and moving the mouse is working right now. I don't know what I do wrong, I use 10.6.2, but to be totally sure, I even tried to install the Magic Mouse software update. Doesn't work. No mouse multitouch settings in the preferences.
Since the trackpad was not working, we have to use a USB mouse to navigate. After a few minutes, the mouse left and right button doesn't work. I can move the pointer around the screen and use the keyboard.

With Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro-13" (mid 2012) I could wake my sleeping Mac by just pushing the mouse or sliding my finger on the trackpad - this is connected to an external monitor mouse is a Logitech wireless (via USB connector to the sensor).I did NOT have to push the spacebar or click the mouse to wake the Mac BUT WITH LION I DO-- I cannot simply slide the mouse a bit this doesn't cause my MBP to wake.Is this something new with LION or do I have to set something to permit easier waking?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8), Also a Mac SE running 6.0.4 - not upgrading that!
After upgrading from OS X 10.5.8 to 10.6(and 10.6.1) my control panel Security does not open but crashes. With the upgrade to 10.6.1 the control panel now says "loading Security (32 bit" but will not open the Security control panel. All other control panels icons work on my duel 2.93 Mac Pro.
I have no idea how this came to be, but my dock no longer has the system settings / control panel icon, and I have no way to access any of my system settings now. Using Snow Leopard. Has anyne seen this happen before and does anyone know how I can undo this?
I am running Mac 10.5.6 and I have installed VMware Fusion so that i can try and run Windows XP since i have some useful applications. However, when it boots i cannot get the mouse or keyboard to work which means that i cannot do anything on the virtualisation.
I have a mighty mouse and the ball scrolls down but dont scroll up. I have tried the plain sheet of paper and rolling the ball on it until it cleans itself but its only worked for a while, now nothing seems to be working
I got a Magic Mouse for Christmas this morning and set up with my Macbook Pro. The setup went quickly and well. I was able to move the cursor around my screen with the Magic Mouse.
However, the click buttons don't work. I have tried left and right clicking and nothing happens.
Is there a problem with my mouse or did I miss something in the setup?
I got Mac Mini and i installed Windows 7 on it with Boot Camp, After i installed drivers and everything. Everything worked includes the Magic Mouse. After i did a restart my Magic Mouse didn't work anymore. I tried turning the Mouse off and on and it still doesn't work.
Occasionally after waking from sleep, there's no response when I try to use the left button on the mouse, or the equivalent on the trackpad. Everything else seems normal. The cursor moves OK, and the right button actions do still work.

I have a 24inch LCD ACD display connected to my Mac Pro. This display all used to work OK, but now, read on. I had to send this 24inch LCD ACD display away to have the panel replaced. Since it has returned when I look in About This Mac/Displays it shows that I have an iMac connected as the display and now the brightness cannot be controlled. If the 24inch LED ACD is connected to my Macbook it all works as it should
I just paid to upgrade QuickTime and received a registration code. Tho problem is there is no way to find the QuickTime control panel via the Windows 7 Home Premium control panel. How to I ovrcome this?Â
I have just connected my Canon Pixma MG5270 to my iMac running OSX 10.7.3 via WiFi. Printing works great, and scanning from the desktop "Canon MP Navigator EX - MG 5200 series" V 4.0.3 application works like a dream. When I try to scan via the operations panel on the printer/scanner the following comes up - Set the PC to start scanning". This worked fine when connected directly via USB cable. I have searched the web and believe I have the correct settings, particuliarly in MP Navigator:Â
1. Main Menu -> One-click -> Start scanning by clicking the button (checked)
2. Main Menu -> One-click -> Preferences -> General -> Compress scanned images when transferring (checked) -> Change -> Network Device List (selected Canon MG 5200 series_xxxxxxxxx) -> Scan-from-Operation-Panel Settings -> Network Device List (selected Canon MG5200 series_xxxxxxx)Â I have restarted the iMac and printer and always with the same result.Â
I went ahead and disassembled my wireless mighty mouse, unscrewed the scroll ball from the lid of the mouse and found a ton of lint and cr@p that has been living in here for quite some time. cleaned it all up, put it together, now all of the little rollers spin freely, great.
I go to put everything together, including the 2 ribbon cables, mouse snaps together, fire it up, mouse works fine, i can click, side buttons work, but the scroll does not work at all now. left to right use to be fine, it was just up and down. now nothing works.
any idea what could have gone wrong? did i forget something?
it feels like someone else is controlling my mouse. This just started happening. My trackpad doesn't work or works sporadically. While typing the pointer is scrolling all over my screen.
