Front Row :: Reading Only Certain Files From Movies Folder?
Feb 3, 2012
I have an external hard drive connected to my Time Capsule that is loaded with a bunch of VIDEO_TS folders of all my DVDs, and I have that drive aliased in my "Movies" folder on my MacBook Pro, so when I open Front Row, it points to my external HDD, and everything is hunky-dory. But I also have other files in this HDD (a bunch of JPG files) that are also being seen by Front Row. For reasons that are too boring to get into, I don't want to separate the files into different locations, I would like to keep them together. But my goal is to be able to somehow block Front Row from seeing these JPG files and just display the list of my DVDs instead. Is there any way to tell my alias to block out the JPGs, or some way to hide the JPGs from that particular alias, or something along those lines?Â
I am using plex, and I want to know where the FrontRow Movies and TV Shows images are. They are not in FrontRow's package contents. If anyone knows where these images are, or where to find them online.
I use Front Row most days to watch TV shows and movies. But some of my TV shows seem to be in the Movies section? And in the TV section some of the shows say Various. But in iTunes they are all perfectly categorized. How can this be fixed?
I'm getting this message when reading a PM, never saw this before. To view this page, you need to log in to area "Protected_Folder" your password would be sent in the clear.
Safari 5.1.4 running under Lion (10.7.3) and the previous Safari version on Snow Leopard alyway tries to open a pdf file using the Quicktime plugin. This results is a mostly unreadable document. The previous versions didn't do that. If I go to Library/Internet Plugins and remove Quicktime plugin.plugin Safari works as before.
Does making an Alias of my movie files to point to Front Row doubles the files and take up more space in the HD? I don't understand what Alias really is.
I have numerous books in iTunes, some PDF files and others ePub files. When I double click on a PDF file book in iTunes, Preview on my MBP will open up allowing me to read it. However, when clicking an ePub file nothing happens. Nothing opens. And of course I'd like for something to open up allowing me to read it on my Mac.
I bring up this thread cause I remember not too long ago Pages allowed for ePub conversion, figuring at the very least Pages could/would open up. Anyone have any recommendations for my wanted outcome of wanting an ePub file from iTunes to open up on my Mac?
I need to convert mpg files to flv and 3gp. I can to the .mpg to .flv with iMovie, but problem is, iMovie doesn't read all my mpg files. Are there any free applications that do this? If not, what's a good one for a reasonable price?
My friends HDD corrupted its self, so i've got it plugged into my computer and can see all the files through Ubuntu.
Now, when i say Files, i mean i can see all the folders and some files.
All the Folders are there, but like in windows an account has been made and a password put on it, so i can't copy these folders across to my computer because i can't read them so to speak.
I can get all the passwords if need be, but i don't get a password prompt or anything?
I upgraded to Lion and sadly, Front Row is not supported. I somehow found the Front Row app in my systems folder and moved it to my Applications folder. Front Row now shows up in my applications folder, as well as Launchpad. However, when I go into Front Row, it does not recognize any of my media from iTunes. I tried out this website: [URL]..blog/frontrowenablerforlion to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make Front Row work in OS X Lion.Â
Can anyone tell me if there is a command line tool to read values out of plist files? I'm trying to write a script to automate installing the Balthisar Ghostscript Network Printer package, and I want it to check the version of the LPR module before replacing it. I wanted to do something cleaner than just parsing it's Info.plist file in perl.
Everytime i try to open my 'Movies' folder within my finder, finder crashes and restarts. I can still find the files and open them by spotlight searching. Im running a Macbook Pro with with 10.7.4? Â
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I've recently made the move from a PC to a Mac, and so far, everything gone very smoothly. I got iWork with my Mac, and there is one problem that's bugging me; every time I open a word (docx) document in pages, it asks me if I want to keep the changes or discard them, and that is for when I am just reading them. When I edit them, and I go to save it, it keeps bringing up the save as box instead of overwriting the present docx file.
I've already installed any missing fonts I have in my documents. So, to summarize, my two main problems are: If I read a docx file, Pages acts like I made changes to it, despite the fact that I did not. If I edit a docx file, Pages keeps bringing up the save as dialog box when I try to save, instead of overwriting the original docx file. The same thing happens with Numbers and Keynote. I just need a temporary fix 'til I can get a hold of Office 2011.
Since the MBA has no internal DVD drive, I would like to pre load some DVD's on the MBA hard drive before I go on the road. I was thinking of using mac the ripper to rip my personal DVD. Is there a way in Front Row to import video_ts files without using an optical disk? As far as memory serves this wasn't possible with Tiger. If this is impossible what is an other way to store DVD's on my hard drive and watch them in front row?
When i transferred all my Music and Movies from my PC, i put them into the specified Music and Movie folders, but when i used itunes to open all of them, iTunes makes a copy of all of them and put then into it's own folder.
Any news of Front Row in Lion? Apple is selling the mac mini without any new interface? Apple really needs to offer us something over front row which I don't think has been updated since 2007. So Apple how about it?
(1) How can i have get-info on a folder display the number of files *in* the folder?I do not like having to count them by hand.
(2), how can i get new folders (and other files) to be placed at the bottom of a drive's window rather than off to the right at the top of the window..?
I have hundreds of files on this drive, arranged essentially in a tall column 3 or 4 files wide. I DON'T want new folders (or files that i copy or save to the drive) being placed all the way up at the top, out of view to the right because then i have to drag them all the way down to the bottom. Follow? Yet, this is what OSX is doing (usually).
Info: PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), G4; G5; Dual-Core iMac.
I use handbrake to rip movies to TV files (.m4v). Is there a way to reverse this process? Say I don't have the DVD anymore, just the .m4v file, and want it to be able to play in any DVD player. Does anyone know a way to convert the .m4v back into video_ts/audio_ts files?
