Final Cut / DVD Studio :: Play FBI Duplication Warning Only Once
Sep 27, 2010In DVD Studio Pro, how do I have the "FBI Duplication Warning" play only upon disc insertion, but then to not play when I have viewers go to the "Main Menu" wherever they are on the disc? Each time "Menu" button is selected, it first plays the FBI Warning. I realize its because I have that "FBI Warning" as first play, but since I went into the inspector I selected "Main Menu" for the Remote Control Buttons. I thought that would take care of it.

Final Cut Pro X :: Copying Files Between Libraries / Drives?
Dec 11, 2014I have two drives open. I've created different Libraries, one for each drive. I want to move a 'project' or a 'clip' from one Library/drive to another. I drag and drop. Will the project/clip moving from one Library/drive to another bring in the relevant original media? (And I believe I have to recreate any Proxy files, is that right?) And will the original media (copied) now be found in the importing Library? Or in the folders I've set up for THAT Library. I've been trying to keep my media in separate folders so my Libraries open fast.Â
That would be a related question perhaps? I'm trying to keep my Libraries small, so they open and close fast; and can be backed up on another 'small' drive; and my assumption has been that if I put my original media, project backups etc., assigned to designated folders (NOT in the Library file) that this will be the case - faster working with the Libraries, smaller Library files I can back up on other drives.

Final Cut Pro X :: Phantom Libraries - Unable To Delete
Jun 2, 2014So, I did some archving (simply dragging old libraries and projects over to a different storage drive.)Â
However, some of the libraries STILL appeared in my browser. ...but WITHOUT the purple library symbol. And... no contents appear when you click the arrow... AND... I can't delete them? (They do NOT show up on the HD, thus I can't delete them in the finder, either.)Â What gives?Â

Final Cut Pro X :: Upgraded To 10.1.3 - Loads Libraries Then Crashes
Aug 28, 2014I upgraded to FCPX 10.1.3 with no issues. Libraries loaded and all was well. I drag and dropped a video on the timeline and FCPX stalled, then crashed. Now, when I attempt to open it up it loads the libraries, sits for a few minutes and then crashes.Â
I have repaired permissions.
Trashed FCPX preferences.
Ran a maintenance program (Onyx)Â
I have a Time Machine backup that I accessed and brought 10.1.2 back into my apps folder (so now I have both). When opening 10.1.2 it asks to import my libraries. If I do this will I lose data or will it ruined my libraries. My only backup of the FCPX libraries is an online backup (backblaze) and will take years to restore. Â
2 Questions:Â
1. How do I troubleshoot my issue with 10.1.3?
2. Can I downgrade (already on my system) to 10.1.2 and when I import libraries that have been imported to 10.1.3 into 10.1.2 will Iose data?Â

Nov 30, 2014I recently purchased an external hard drive to store my Final Cut Pro projects, and what I would like to happen is that I see projects stored on my computer when the drive is not plugged in I would like to see the projects stored on my computer. If this is not possible I would at least like to be able to see the project stored on my drive and edit them Final Cut Pro. I only see the projects on my computer in Final Cut Pro even when the hard drive is plugged in and it has projects on it. I basically want to store my Final Cut Pro projects and be able to edit them on my external drive. (final cut pro 10.1.3 latest build of Yosemite)

Aug 30, 2010I'm fairly new to Macs, just got an iMac. So I'm working on getting everything transferred over and set up. I got my iTunes library working and I can sync my iPhone 4 and my iPod Nano 5g just fine. When I hook up my iPod its icon appears on the Desktop and I can explore it with Finder and copy/delete any videos that I've shot with it. The iPod also shows up on the left side of the Finder window in the Devices area. Now when I connect my iPhone it does NOT show up here and it seems like I must sync any photos or videos I have on my iPhone into iPhoto or Aperture. I would think it should show up in the Devices list and on the Desktop too but it doesn't. This seems funky to me but it does sync with iTunes fine. Is this normal? I just don't know if this is how it's supposed to be since I'm a Mac newbie. Is there a way to explore the iPhone through Finder to manage and copy the files?

Nov 18, 2007I've been a Mac users for a good long time, but only recently have I gone back to using it as my primary computer again. Now, after the wonderful homecoming, the sorting on the Finder is really becoming unacceptable. Why can't it list the folders first and then list the Files? I really need to get this working to effectively target things I need to do. Has someone worked out a solution for this yet? Has Apple? You have a folder of files from A-Z numbering in the thousands, and only 4 folders inside of it that are scattered throughout the thousands of files alphabetically. How do I get ALL folders to simply list alphabetically at the top, before the Finder lists all the files? This doesn't seem like rocket-science, but I'm running out of keywords to search on, and I'm not having much luck. There's gotta be a Finder enhancer or system tweak somewhere, right?

Jun 14, 2012iPod Touch connected via USB and does not appear in the iTunes list. In fact 'Device' is not listed at all. I know the USB port works so it isn't this or the cable. I would like to synch my daughters iPod with her music (which we have done many, many times in the past without issue) but the device does not appear and I cannot find a way for it to be 'found'.

OS X :: Why Bunch Of Login Items Listed
Apr 23, 2009I just noticed (I never really looked before) a bunch of login items listed that mostly I don't know their purpose. The logitech control center for my bluetooth mouse is there. That makes sense as to connect my mouse at startup. But I have something called 'Airport Base Station Agent' and iTunesHelper' and a couple of other do-dads for a couple of other small apps (Rogue Amoeba Schedule Help, for ex.) that I have no idea why they should be 'starting' when I log in, nor are they something I even notice when I login in. Are they some kind of background process goings on I don't know of? If I toss this stuff, would it hurt anything? For example, is that Airport agent thing an important background utility that's needed for my computer to connect to its wireless on startup or what?

Feb 18, 2012How do I find the place where cookies are listed? I found it once but can't locate anywhere. I tried under Safari Preferences>Private but cannot find Private.
I find somethings that says Cookies under Security but that does not list any unusual listings. There MUST be somewhere I can find out if I have a virus, junk, or the like. Safari freezes, dumps and has slowed down.

Mar 25, 2012If you look at your account page in iTunes and the iTunes Store there is a section for "Manage Devices". I have an iPad, the new 3rd Gen, and it shows up as an iPad2 under my devices. I think this may cause issues when syncing, downloading and playing content, or installing new apps since they are different model devices.
I only have one iPad and never had an iPad2, but I did buy one for my Dad a while back but he lives in a different city and it has never been synced with my itunes account or library. Has anyone else ever ran into this situation? And how do I correct my device list to show the correct model iPad?

Apr 11, 2012I have suddenly had constant lockup trouble with my 13"MBP under Lion (latest version 10.x). So I did a complete re-install, including using Disk Utility to erase HD, then Lion. I have complete Time Machine Backups, however Lion will NOT list my TM external HD when migrating my data (both at initial startup and using the utility)! Why not? It is CLEARLY listed on my desktop, so I know it's mounted. I don't have to re-install every program, and info manually?Â

Apr 16, 2012After deleting one of 2 admin users on my MBP (Lion), my other computers still see both users listed on the home network. Mostly it's just annoying, when I can simply ignore the "ghost" user name, but in one case my oldest imac is confused and can't connect to either users. There must be some way to delete preferences or otherwise get the network to "reset" its list of MBP users? (It's is a basic Airport network with an Extreme plus an extending Express.)Â

Jun 23, 2014I have submitted my podcast to iTunes and I was very happy to know that I have been approved to have my podcast added to iTunes. When I found my podcast in iTunes I realised that the episodes that I have in the store are in reverse order, ie. episode 1 is episode 4 etc. I have used blogger to post my audio files and have used Feedburner to create the feed link. Is there anything that I can do to make it so that episode 1 is episode 1 and that every episode that follows is in order of its creation?Â

Jul 24, 2009So I've had a 15" Unibody MBP since around November and I haven't been able to get it to work with my Hanns G 19" widescreen monitor. It should work at a 1440x900 resolution but its not even listed as an option when I hook it up. The monitor has both VGA and DVI inputs but I'm using the mini to VGA adapter (I picked up VGA to connect to a projector at school). I don't know if using the DVI adapter would do the trick or not and I'm not willing to waste $30 to find out as I'm a pretty poor college student at the moment.

Nov 3, 2009For some reason lately with my new email address I made with Gmail, a lot of emails have been sent back to me, "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender"
Part of the message says, "I was unable to send this e-mail because the domain ( gmail.com ) has been black listed due to spam or forgery."
What the heck does this mean? I promise I'm not a spammer, for this is my personal email account.
Could it be possible that someone on the receiver's end has blocked my address or something?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this issue? It happens when I send mail from Apple Mail, my iPhone, and even through Gmail.
Software :: Items Listed Twice - Black Frames Around Icons
Sep 8, 2009OS 10.5.8. While working in Quark I suddenly see duplicates under the Apple menu for "shut down", "Log out", and "restart". All of these items are listed twice now. There are also Black Frames around anything I click on. (maybe I hit a strange keyborad command by mistake? I've run the Disk Utility from start-up disk, and that found "no problems", but list and black frames still there.

Except I get Print Using > Generic Postscript Printer.When I go to Print Using > Select Printer Software.... All I get is a dialog with no printer software listed.In ~ Library/Printers/ there are lots of printer folders. Why isn't Lion software finding my printer software?
