So my sister got a new macbook pro upgrading from a white macbook. She uses microsoft entourage (its terrible) for work, 2004 edition. Anyways she wants to keep her emails- I exported everything alright, then imported on the new mac but the dates are screwed up. Even had an email from 1969. wow im confused, anybody got a fix or any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just configured Entourage and when I went to check mail, it gave any error and suggested that I fix the database. The MS site says you click the Entourage Icon while holding down the option key and it should give you the option to fix the database. When I do so it comes up and asks for a "Fix Clock Key". I'm using the new version of Office for Mac 2008 Home/Student edition.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm not changing back to a Windows user, it's just that I *need* to get my contacts onto Outlook 2007 as well. My contacts in Entourage are organized nicely, with each contact's name and e-mail address. Really simple information. I then go to "Export", and choose to export the contacts to a "tab-delimited text" file (it's my only choice). Basically, I get this .txt file. I then go to my Outlook 2007, and have tried importing both "Comma Separated Values" and "Tab Separated Values" with my .txt file. Unfortunately, while each contact's name and e-mail DO get imported, the format is completely messed up. I get this "map field" window when I choose to import by Tab Separated Values, but I've tried all different combinations, and every time, the names and e-mails simply jumble up altogether. Has anyone tried importing Entourage contacts into Outlook 2007? And if so, can you please give me some instructions on how to do so?

The messages no longer exist on the web-based servers and I heard IMAP might be in handy for transfering the messages to an online acct then transfering to gmail.
Any idea of how to do this with Entourage or Apple Mail?
BTW, they're both from the same email address, I just changed providors (hosting/email) during the 6 month period.
I am moving from my exchange server... and use entourage 2008... since i dont have exchange any more theres no need to use the buggy entourage... so in entourage i copied all my folders (mail) from exchange to local.
then i set up apple mail - added all my imap accounts (which are in addition to to my old exchange account).
If apple mail supported exchange i would simply connect to it and move my folders local - but alas its not supported yet - and i cant wait for the update.
so i imported from the import menu (using the entourage option).
It all looked good (i have a lot of mail - so it took several hours).... I clicked on a random message on of the imported folders... its blank... subject, from etc are there in the columns - but the message is blank -- tried another - blank..
I installed Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, but I really do not want or need Microsoft Entourage or Messenger. I have read that if you only uninstall part of Microsoft Office, it'll create problems with the other programs in the suite. How can I go about safely uninstalling these programs? Do I need to fully uninstall and then re-install? I made sure while installing Office to opt for a custom installation so I could un-check Entourage and Messenger. However, I didn't see those specific programs on the custom installation list. Are they maybe under a different name (like, for example, "Microsoft Essentials")? I don't know what to do. Help is much appreciated!
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem its pretty simple. When I choose "Desktop folder" as destination to import/export in my applications, the entire app freezes.
For example: If i want to open a photo which are in "desktop" with photoshop with the "Open..." option, the "choose destination" pop-up window that appear freezes and I have to Force Quit. If i choose another folder, nothing happens.

Kudos to the Community! the question is quite simple: where can I find the config files of the network/ airport?I am asking for this scenario: I upgraded my Macbook Pro HDD, the old one is in a case connected to the MBP, I did not format it, all is there, so I can easily access all the files. Well, my ports connection sucks here where I live... And it took me a loooong time to find the ports that should be open and which IP to forward and so on. I could (the long way) install the HDD again and just Screen Shot all the specs and do all over again in the new HDD, but it would be good to know how to save this configuration (I am assuming there is a file, but I can't find it...).

All of a sudden my internet got really slow. I began looking around and found that it was probably a DNS issue so I added 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 to my DNS server list and my internet began to work nice and speedy like it use to. The only problem is that whenever I added these I can no longer access my school's mail server. At this point I am completely clueless and really don't want to have to pick between e-mail access and fast internet.

I inputted the information correctly, because all of my folders are now showing. But none of my mail is loading. I am guessing the size is to big? I emptied the cache, and that did nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have saved the MS User Data from Office X prior to whiping my HD clean for a rebuild ... A new install of Office X creates a new MS User Data folder automatically when opened. When I choose the import option in Entourage X there is no listing for the current version and when I select another version, Entourage 2004, for example, only the new "Main Identity" shows with today's date. I can hit "browse" so it will "see" the original "Main Identity" and select it but after clicking OK, only the new "Main Identity" shows with today's date is shown and defeats the import.
I have also tried Office 2008 > File > Import >"Entourage information from an archive or earlier version "> and tried either option Entourage 2004 or Entourge X and have the same experience: only the new identity shows with the new installs' date. I can hit "browse" so it will "see" the original and select it but after clicking OK, only the new identity shows with today's date is shown and defeats the import."
I searched archives for a similar question, found one or two but no answer that helps me. I exported all my email accounts in Mail, as text files AND as raw message source files. Now I want to use Entourage and import the messages, but Entourage does not recognize these files. Why? They are all grayed out.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac on a MacBook running OS 10.6.2. I am having a problem with my Entourage database. For a while Entourage would freeze while opening, but then eventually open after a restart. Now it won't open at all, it comes up with a message that say "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database." So I click ok and it opens the Database Utility.
But here's the weird part: After a few seconds the Database Utility opens and comes up with a message saying I need to quit all Microsoft programs before it can run. So I do that. I even quit ALL programs except the utility. But it still comes up with another message telling me to quit all Microsoft programs. So in other words, the database utility won't run. What do I do now?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8 as a desktop and a MacBook with 10.6.8 when I travel. I want to transfer my entire Address Book from the MacBook back to my iMac. I have done the reverse multiple times with no problem by simply creating an archive with Address Book (v.4.1.2) and importing it on my MacBook (Address Book v. 5.0.3). But when I do the reverse, the only vcards that show up are the ones I've updated while using my MacBook. All the rest are gone. I know I can recover all the vcards by shift-clicking the entire list and copying them as a file. However, I want to revover all my group lists, which are too many to recreate.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Entourage 2004 DB is corrupted. The database utility tool is unable to repair it. It gives me an error "an I/O error has occurred". I tried EntourAid and that doesn't work either. When the repair starts, it soon crashes the app with an error -36.
Microsoft Word gives me an error "unable to load Microsoft Framework Library". Not sure if this is related.
Have already repaired permissions, run Onyx, EntourAid, etc.
