Apr 9, 2012We are using quick time player plugin and embedded it in the html. We are trying the play the streaming video URL in the quick time player plugin using Safari 5.1 It is working fine with Firefox, IE and even safari 5.0. Able to play the stand alone video but not the streaming video URL.

May 8, 2012Ever since I installed Lion I have had a problem opening attachments to emails which are videos. Most of them I can open with VLC and a few with WMV Player, but none with Quick Time. If they are on my iPad or iPhone I can open them with VLC and send them to others. If they are on my Macbook Air I cannot send them because the email goes without the attachment.

Jul 22, 2010My kids made a video, edited it in iMovie and burned it to a CD. When we put the cd into our macbook pro and play it through QT Player the video pauses and stutters and the audio is not synced up to the lips, and that's if and when the audio does come on. The CD is fine as it does play as it should on the pc desktop that we have. What are we doing wrong?

The clips are good, but my family is eager to watch the files on TV, & it is an ordeal & too time consuming to have to go into a video & DVD editor for everything I or my family shoot with my digicam. I noticed after i did so that every time i turn my computer off and then start or if i just restart my macbook turns on with the volume all the way off. it's not that big of a deal because i can just turn it up, but i would like to know why it's doing that so i can fix the issue. oh yeah i know that if the volume is off when you shut down it will stay that way when you turn it on again. However, even if i shut it down with the volume up it will be muted upon rebooting. any experts out there know a quick fix?

May 6, 2012The projector menu indicates that the USB port in the connected MacBook is in the "off" position. I connected the same projector to an older MacBook (Snow Leopard) and it works instantly. Is there a toggle switch in the newer MacBook that I need to activate, or mid-2011 macbook running on OS X Lion no longer support USB connection to a projector? I've downloaded the latest driver from Epson and during install process - there's already a newer version of the driver installed.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Unable To Recover Time Machine Files?
Mar 23, 2012I'm running Time Machine on a Western Digital network storage device from my iMac. It works fine. I can go back any amount of time and recover files as they were backed up then. But I also want to be able to depend on Time Machine backups to allow me to recover files if my iMac goes down. So just as a test, I tried to use the Browse Other Time Machine Disks feature from my MacBook Air. I can't make it work. It shows me a Choose Time Machine Disk to Browse window, but there are no disks in the choose pane.
People have been telling me that I have to "mount" the volume, but I see no way to do so. Clicking Go - Connect to Server - Browse, shows me that the backup disk is there; it's called <mydiscname>-backup. But when I try to connect to it I get an immediate connection failure.
I'm beginning to suspect that there is no way to restore from another computer when the Time Machine backups are on a network storage device? If this is true, people need to know it and stop using network storage for Time Machine, as it won't be safe if their principal Mac goes down.

Apr 20, 2010So I have a 15" MBP running Snow Leopard and have recently installed a Western Digital MyBook 1TB World Edition on the network to serve as my Time Machine backup drive. Most of the time, it works flawlessly and OSX / Time Machine does its thing and backs up.
Every once in a while, Time Machine says backup has been delayed because it cannot locate the network drive. This when I can easily access the network drive from other machines on the network, and also from my MBP in Finder. It's just Time Machine that somehow fails to find that drive. When I enter Time Machine preferences and look for the drive, it brings it up immediately and asks me for the username and pwd and viola ... it's up and running again.
