Ever since I installed Lion I have had a problem opening attachments to emails which are videos. Most of them I can open with VLC and a few with WMV Player, but none with Quick Time. If they are on my iPad or iPhone I can open them with VLC and send them to others. If they are on my Macbook Air I cannot send them because the email goes without the attachment.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I was unable to play the file with my quick time player.

When we put the cd into our macbook pro and play it through QT Player the video pauses and stutters and the audio is not synced up to the lips, and that's if and when the audio does come on. The CD is fine as it does play as it should on the pc desktop that we have. What are we doing wrong?

I am looking for a reliable quick batch converter that can convert the .mov movie files my camera shoots to mpg2 to burn quickly to a blank DVD to give to family members to play on a regular DVD player. The clips are good, but my family is eager to watch the files on TV, & it is an ordeal & too time consuming to have to go into a video & DVD editor for everything I or my family shoot with my digicam. I need a quick way to get these files to DVD for immediate viewing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received an automatic update for quicktime yesterday. After the install, I noticed that Finder would flash and interrupt any application. It seems like I clicked off on the desktop when I am working. I then have to click on the application screen to continue working. This happens about every 2-3 minute intervals. When I restart the computer, Suitecase always opens up. Any ideas?? I have a G5 with 10.4.
View 2 Replies View RelatedQuick Time used to work fine, but now when I click on Watch Trailer in Apple Trailers, the link opens ok, but when Quick Time opens, it gives an error that says "A necessary data reference could not be resolved". When I click on Ok, the window closes.

Quick Look has stopped working for MP4 file types. If I rename to M4V, Quick Look shows previews and thumbnails in finder. I have run:
$ qlmanange -d 1 -t test.mp4
It reports:Content type UTI: public.mpeg-4. Generator used: None. If I tell it to use -c public.movie, it does show the preview. What do I need to do to get my Quick Look working again?

I have one particular application I use that requirems me to temporarily switch my audio input and output to different sources. Once I've used the app., I switch them back to their previous state.
I use Soundsource which gives me quick menu-bar access to the inputs/outputs but I still have to set them indiviudally. I was hoping there might be a way to have one or more 'sound sets' which have different combinations of inputs and outputs and then just switch between the sets.
In the absence of any such app. (or is there one?) does anyone know how I could write an Applescript to do this?

I have a WD Passport. I installed the latest firmware, and smartware software, in the hope I could remove that dratted "VCD" icon from popping up each time I connect the smartware drive. The smartware software allowed me to change the settings so that I could disable the drive.
Now I no longer need the software, but the it seems to have installed a "quick view" icon on the task bar! (near the clock / date etc).
I looked in "Login Items", but it doesn't seem to start anyprogram on startup, and I can't drag it off the task bar.
How can I remove this? There doesn't seem to be any setting within Smartware to remove this. Curse you Smartware!
