Applications :: Rebooted Couple Of Times And Still Not Working
Jan 7, 2011
I installed 10.6.6 on my MacBook Pro 2.2 Santa Rosa model. Everything seems to have gone well until I tried to open the new mac app store. It bounces one time then nothing. I have rebooted a couple times and still nothing.
I am having a problem with my external hard drive. I was using it the other day working with some of the files on it and it shut down my computer a couple times. The second time it did this, after the computer shut down, I would turn it on and then it would go right back off until I removed the hard drive and turned it on and it was fine. Now my computer won't recognize the hard drive at all when i plug it in. The light on the hard drive will come on but it will not show up on my computer.
The hard drive is a WD 1TB Passport and it still works fine with every other computer I plug it into, PCs and macs both.I have a late 2008 13" Aluminum Macbook
My mid 2010 macbook pro when started makes a series of beeping noises the load software bar appears and that happens a couple of times before I get a nomral boot
This is not a Canon problem as other computers (PCs) detect the scanner and work fine. This was originally the easiest multi-function printer/scanner setup I ever did.The scanning is easy and worked fine for a couple of months, then several days ago it gave "scanner not available" message, tried deleting the scanner and then adding, now it will not detect the scanner ONLY the printer
I've upgraded to iTunes 10.1 and every time I open it I get the following message. I've tried accepting multiple times and still no luck. I've removed the rule from the firewall settings, rebooted and opened iTunes again.
I have a couple of movies here and i just converted them on .mp4 so i could be able to watch them on my ps3. the movies on my mackbook pro look fantastic, almost like HD! but when i converted them doesn't look as good. I guess i need to change the configuration. How should i put it so the quality wont change THAT much?
We have a Late 2006 xsrv which has always run fine. A while ago, it froze up and we rebooted, all still works fine however the Hard Drive no longer shows on the desktop, nor does it show up in the Finder or in Disk Utility. The server is running Raid 5 and when I look in Raid Utility everything shows as "Good", including the Volume, the Raid Set and the three drives. The strange thing is that everything is functioning fine on the server other than the above. The problem however is that the drive is not showing so backups cannot identify the source to run.
I am a Mac veteran and should know better but I went brain dead and rebooted system after an update while the repair permissions function was running in the background. Now my IMac will reboot and then start to load once I login but it hangs on the startup screen only showing my mouse arrow and the standard space startup background. It won't get to my desktop. Am I going to have to reinstall the system? I have everything backed up on Time Machine but I can't access it from this position. I have a project I have to finish tonight and now I'm really screwed if I can't get in it.
I had a huge struggle installing Windows 7 through BootCamp. After the first time it rebooted during the installation process, it would not power up the screen (the computer and the setup were running, but the screen was off, not black, but off). I figured out that doing the rest of the installation through emulation software (I used VMWare Fusion) would work, and it did. Windows 7 should be fully installed, and works just fine if I boot it up through VMWare. But when I try to directly boot up from the Windows partition (not through VMWare), it shows me a flickering underscore ( _ ) for a while, then when it finally (if it does, sometimes it doesn't) goes to the window that says "Starting Windows", and you can see the logo coming up, it gives me a BSOD shortly after you can only see a fraction of the boot animation.
I rebooted after a power outage, which switched off my mac. Booting up it took a long time, maybe 30 min. Since then every task takes a very long time eg. to open mail 3 min. I got disk utility to open, my boot drive comes up in red, I still havent got any info on it.
I just finished with the installation of windows XP SP2 on my MacBook Air, it all went fine.. but at the moment when I inserted my Leopard disk in order to install the drivers, the screen turned blue and the computer rebooted by itself in a matter of seconds. I've tried 3 times by now and keep doing the same.
Installed Snow Leopard (retail box) onto a last-gen Aluminum MacBook Pro (2.6Ghz model). Did a time machine backup. Put in CD and upgraded. Rebooted with no peripherals plugged in and I get a kernel panic. There's only one user on this machine so I can't see if it's an account problem. I did the same thing on both my Macbook Air and 17" MacBook Pro.
Question: Do I have to now Reinstall Leopard (fresh) Then update Snow Leopard Then restore from Backup? OR Install Leopard Recover from time machine backup Then install Snow Leopard
I don't have all day and really don't want to screw up the process. Is there any thing else that might say why this kernel panic is happening?
I'm recently purchased CS4 and when I attempt to install it on my imac, I receive the following error.I've contacted Adobe 4 times without getting any help in resolving the problem...all they do is pass me from person to person.Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?
Is there any way to monitor this and find out which program is causing it? I don't use Limewire or any other type of file sharing software. Every once in a while I'll see a slight spike (between 500-800KB/S) in bandwidth for no real reason, then my IP gets blocked. How do I find out what's going on behind the scenes?
My OS is Leopard 10.5.0. I updated my quicktime to 7.4.5, then when i rebooted, finder and spolight arent opening and crashing. Then, with appcleaner, i uinstalled QuickTime, but the problem continued. So i deleted the QTKit.framework, the console pointed it by the center of the error, so i did it. I also deleted the plists or something like that, reseted the pram and nothing, repaired permissions, verified disks and nothing!! I tryed to install the combo updater 10.5.2, but for some reason, while in the 'choose drive' part, the program freezes.I also tryed to install via terminal, but i got this:
Machine Specs: MacBook Pro 15'' 2 ghz Intel Core Duo 2 Gb DDR2 80 GB HD SATA
I need a plug-in/add-on/application that will block certain websites I want at certain times. For example, block Youtube and Facebook from 4-6PM. Preferably these settings would be difficult or impossible to change once in place, haha. I want to be strict and not let myself procrastinate during the upcoming school year and I think this is the only way to actually do it.
Any commands or programs that will allow me to automatically refresh any webpage that I am currently viewing? Say for like my emails or forums or mypsace or something.
i have final cut express 4 and i noticed that there was 2 stickers with serial numbers, can i installl it on 2 computers.and i have not registered yet does that make a difference.
In excel, whenever I try to type in a cell, I must press the first key 10-20 times before it shows up. It doesn't show up delayed, as in it shows up with 20 a's, it just shows one. Once the first key shows I can type anything else in that cell, but when i hit an arrow key or click to go to another cell, I have to hit the first letter 10-20 times again. I have to click 10-20 times to click into a new cell as well. This just started today. I've tried restarting excel a few times, but It didn't help.
does anyone know how to keep a window (from a program your not working in) in front at all times? For example if your watching a movie in a window but want to edit a photoshop file in another.
Well, I've never had any trouble modifying my site, until last night. I made some major changes to the the site, and tried to upload it, and got the message that is attached. I've logged onto my server, and there are absolutely no error there, everything is up and running just fine. I don't know why it suddenly stopped working. One last thing, I got the error message, but all of the files still upload to my server, but when I go to my website, it just times out.
