Applications :: No Header/footer Toolbar In Word?
Aug 16, 2010When I click on "view" header/footer, no toolbar appears. Any ideas?

Applications :: MS Word Problem (header And Footer)?
Mar 15, 2010In MS Word on my desktop, I seem to have lost the 'Header and Footer' option under 'View'. I checked my friends Word on his laptop, and it did in fact have it. Both comps have MS Word 2008, and my desktop is a quad core i7. (Also, I have searched the Help menu, and the only thing that comes up is the AutoText version of Header/Footer which is not quite the same - leading me to think that it's actually missing...and yes everything is up to date)
As a student I use this function almost daily and it's extremely frustrating not having it. If you have any tips or ideas please let me know,

May 18, 2009This may be a ridiculously stupid question, but for the life of me I can't figure out whats wrong!
I'm trying to add a header and footer to my pages document, however I am not able to no matter how hard I try.
I have tried to create a section and make that the footer, and read almost every related article in the help menu.
Also - when I try to insert a section, the selection in the insert menu is grayed out.
I'm not sure if this will help, but my document has no text and is just tables where I need a header and footer for the 11 pages.

May 17, 2010My mother is working on an important document with Word 2004, and it's fairly big at ~100 pages. The problem, is that people have sent through their own sections from their PC versions of Word, and their sections have [Type text] in the footer area. We cannot find a way to remove this text, and it doesn't actually show up when we reveal the footer. It prints this on every page, so we really need to find a way to get rid of it!

Is it possible to adjust the header/ footer side margins independently from the main body's margins?
I know you can adjust the margins for 'header from top' and 'footer from bottom', but I would like to have my header to go right to the edge of the page instead of remain within the 3cm from edge margins I have set for the main body.
Another question if anyone can help is how can I write in a header say, Mr.Brown on the left hand side and on the same line, but on the right hand side, write the date?
OS X Mavericks :: Why Are Header Icons And Toolbar Buttons Grayed Out
Dec 7, 2014I purchased a used Macbook Pro from ebay. Appeared to be in good working order when I first started working with it, but I have updated from OS X 10.9.2 to 10.9.5 and downloaded Open Office program, set up my mail and went through the system preferences and personalized it. Also ran disk utilities. Then, this AM, when I restarted, the header icons on the right side are grayed out except for the battery %, the date and time and notifications. Also, in mail and safari, the toolbar buttons are blank (forward, back, print, mail, bookmarks, autofil, history and downloads). I went to the disk utility from the recovery partition (repaired disk and disk permissions). I also reset parameters. Don't know what to do next. Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but I am assuming it is software (OS X) related at this point.

Jun 12, 2009First, I'm new to this group so apologies up front if I've posted in the wrong area (if so, please direct me to the proper forum.) I've also searched the forum but haven't found anything on this problem.
The standard toolbar in Word 2008 does not open automatically when opening a word document. It used to, but it no longer does. I've checked the customized settings to be sure that the toolbar should be loaded (it is) but that doesn't seem to help.
The only way to view the toolbar is to manually turn off the standard toolbar, turn it back on, click on the toolbar, and reset.
Software :: Viewing Unique Header On Page 2 Of Template Word 2004?
Jun 9, 2009I need to figure out how to access the logo image that was included in the second section of the header in a template document in Word 2004. Originally, the template was made to have two pages... with the header on each page unique. Now, the template has been changed to one page. When a document is created based on the template and a second page appears because the length of content is forcing a second page, the header on the 2nd page shows up with the one originally designed for the second page. I'd just like to find where this image is 'stored' in Word so that I can change it to something else. How do I do this?

Mar 11, 2010I once chose not to display message headers in Mail 4.2 in the menu. Now, I am unable to get them back. I get the long ones, but not the short. How can I restore it? I am also using Letterbox. I tried to disable Letterbox, but the choice "Short Message header" is still nowhere to be seen.

Jul 24, 2010I have a 24" iMac and when my mom opens up Pages she can see the icons for Inspector and Fonts and everything just fine but she can't see jack ***** on the toolbar below that - the one with the font, justification, etc. options. I can make the Fonts and Inspector icons even bigger but can't do anything with the toolbar below that. Why? And why can't I find anything at all in Settings or on the Apple site about doing that? My mom isn't even a senior - no clue how anyone over 60 could see anything.
I can change the resolution of the whole screen but that's a pretty clunky solution.
It's absolutely tiny. How do I make it bigger?

Aug 22, 2010When I click in a link that opens in a new window, it opens without the toolbar/address bar. So I have to go to menu>view>show toolbar to enable it manually. I've searched in the Preferences and other menus, and in other forums and help sites, but nothing.
