First, I'm new to this group so apologies up front if I've posted in the wrong area (if so, please direct me to the proper forum.) I've also searched the forum but haven't found anything on this problem.
The standard toolbar in Word 2008 does not open automatically when opening a word document. It used to, but it no longer does. I've checked the customized settings to be sure that the toolbar should be loaded (it is) but that doesn't seem to help.
The only way to view the toolbar is to manually turn off the standard toolbar, turn it back on, click on the toolbar, and reset.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but, I installed the Brothersoft toolbar for Safari on my Mac, and now am unable to get rid of it.
Can anyone identify this toolbar icon that has suddenly appeared on my Mac? Clicking/Right clicking does nothing and it doesn't seem to be one of my Login Items. If anyone can identify what it is so I can uninstall it?
a)What version of Safari DOES support community Toolbar? b) If I don't want community toolbar how do I remove this message? c) What is Community Toolbar?
What is the easiest way to 1) show the current record number and 2) show how many records are in the current found set? This is the same info that is in the Status Toolbar. I want to hide this tool bar but the user still needs to know this info.
I'm using Pages in iWork 09. I want a save button on top in the toolbar. I tried to customize it, but it doesn't look like I have that option. Is there seriously no way to create a save button?
Is there any way to change the dark gray color of the tool bar? Those with vision problems - even a little - have a hard time with black letters on dark gray background.
I cannot uninstall the TV Center Toolbar from Safari. I used the uninstall feature on the toolbar, and the uninstall feature in "applications" "toolbars" "uninstal" folder. I have even re-installed the application and then tried to uninstall (as per the companies instructions). A good 3rd party software to uninstall perhaps??
I've been using Safari 5 since it came out but decided I give the new FireFox Beta 4 a look see. Here's what I got after the install. I looked at the toolbar customization but I don't see how to correct this.
I have a 24" iMac and when my mom opens up Pages she can see the icons for Inspector and Fonts and everything just fine but she can't see jack ***** on the toolbar below that - the one with the font, justification, etc. options. I can make the Fonts and Inspector icons even bigger but can't do anything with the toolbar below that. Why? And why can't I find anything at all in Settings or on the Apple site about doing that? My mom isn't even a senior - no clue how anyone over 60 could see anything.
I can change the resolution of the whole screen but that's a pretty clunky solution.
When I click in a link that opens in a new window, it opens without the toolbar/address bar. So I have to go to menu>view>show toolbar to enable it manually. I've searched in the Preferences and other menus, and in other forums and help sites, but nothing.
I am using Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, which has been performing fine for many months. Now all of a sudden the icons are missing on my toolbars. All that it shows in the toolbar window, (both standard and format toolbars), is the text without the icons, with just a blank dark area where the tool icons should be, leaving the toolbar impossible to use in any practical way. No amount of selecting or de-selecting the toolbars via drop down window "view", or changing the option for "text and icons", or "resetting the toolbars in customise will change this situation. The problem has occurred in all of "word", "excel", "PowerPoint" and Entourage. I have tried reinstalling office from the original CD, but the problem persists. I have even quarantined the normal.dotm file before reinstalling office, but it simply created a new "normal" file with the same result. No icons on the toolbars. I am using OS X leopard. I haven't yet resorted to reinstalling leopard, but what else is there?!? Any clues to what has caused this to suddenly occur?
I recently started using iWork 09 & love the apps, but not the look. The grey toolbar buttons are inconsistent with other OS X UI elements & too bland IMO. Here you can compare Pages, TextEdit & OpenOffice. My vote goes for the Aqua buttons in TextEdit, OpenOffice and most other OS X apps.
I downloaded and installed a Safari Toolbar. However, it is incompatible with my version of safari, and I just get a message every time I boot safari that It cannot work. How do I uninstall it?
Yesterday I downloaded safari 5 and it was working fine. Then I tried to customize the toolbar but when I click on "Customize Toolbar", nothing happens (same with when I try it from the menu bar). Now I've been clicking around a bit and I accidentally removed the address bar and now I have to navigate via Wikipedia: Google Search URL. Does anybody know how to customize the toolbar? I have re-downloaded safari already
I have Lion 10.7.2 and am running Safari version 5.1.2, hopefully I am good so far. I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.
I downloaded the gmail extension and when I installed it immediately showed up in the toolbar, but that was not the case with the reload button, so now when I go to the customize toolbar pop-up menu Safari just crashes when I roll over it.
When I search for something in the Google-toolbar in Safari (5.0.1), it does not autocomplete the words anymore. I'm guessing I turned the auto-complete feature off by accident. I have no idea how to turn it back on. I'm on 10.6.4
My dad was saving a bunch of Word docs on his Mac - he had one large file that he split up into twenty-some smaller files, which he then saved onto both his desktop and on a flash drive. Somehow along the way (neither he nor I had any clue how) but 4 of those files saved as an alias that point to nowhere. In other words, I can't find the originals anywhere on his computer or flash drives.
Even stranger is that one of those files aliased to the Applications folder. Keep in mind these are all supposed to be word documents. They all still end with .doc, but their type is an alias. I have no clue how they were created as an alias, but they were. It's probably a longshot without knowing where the original is located, but do any of you guys know how to possibly retrieve this?
Macbook Pro (2014) when I work with Microsoft office, Word, and use the "command v" keys the entire Word doc freezes and I need to reboot entire computer. What is this?
I start Microsoft Entourage, the software opens at least 17 windows and sometimes more. When I click on the upper section of a window in Safari, or Word, the window folds to the dock and when I click on a word, the entire word is selected.
I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.7 i am working on Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.0.1 (080305).
My problem, i created one text box in a document, somehow 2 more appeared. I made the mistake of thinking that to delete the extra text boxes, i simply highlight them and delete them. Silly stupid me, nothing that simple exists and i have wasted an hour trying to figure it out. The help button does squat, barely gives you any info on a text box much less trying to delete it. Does anyone know how to delete a text box in a word document?
i'm looking at moving over to the Mac in a couple days and i just need to know the best free Word Processor that can open .doc files. 99% of my docs made in Word are of the 97-2003 variety and not 2007's .docx.
