Applications :: Any Way Of Adding Random Text To Footer?
Mar 31, 2010At the bottom of letters I write I would like to include random facts about the company. Rather than copying and pasting a random fact - I was wondering if anybody knows of a way to add random text to the footer of a Pages or word document?

May 17, 2010My mother is working on an important document with Word 2004, and it's fairly big at ~100 pages. The problem, is that people have sent through their own sections from their PC versions of Word, and their sections have [Type text] in the footer area. We cannot find a way to remove this text, and it doesn't actually show up when we reveal the footer. It prints this on every page, so we really need to find a way to get rid of it!

Mar 24, 2009I have been using MassReplaceIt to put named anchors on a couple of my web pages. I was using iWeb'08. I got a new MacBookPro (love it) which has iWeb'09 installed. '09 has converted the text on the two pages (only those two) that had the named anchors to graphics. Now my anchors won't work. Is there any way around this? What's happening is MassReplaceIt reads text, but my text has been turned into a graphic - I think.

Mar 15, 2010In MS Word on my desktop, I seem to have lost the 'Header and Footer' option under 'View'. I checked my friends Word on his laptop, and it did in fact have it. Both comps have MS Word 2008, and my desktop is a quad core i7. (Also, I have searched the Help menu, and the only thing that comes up is the AutoText version of Header/Footer which is not quite the same - leading me to think that it's actually missing...and yes everything is up to date)
As a student I use this function almost daily and it's extremely frustrating not having it. If you have any tips or ideas please let me know,

May 18, 2009This may be a ridiculously stupid question, but for the life of me I can't figure out whats wrong!
I'm trying to add a header and footer to my pages document, however I am not able to no matter how hard I try.
I have tried to create a section and make that the footer, and read almost every related article in the help menu.
Also - when I try to insert a section, the selection in the insert menu is grayed out.
I'm not sure if this will help, but my document has no text and is just tables where I need a header and footer for the 11 pages.

Nov 9, 2010I accidentally double-clicked on a file named "Domain" which was really a backup file of my Site. My problem is that I had backed up my site a long time ago, after which i have made many changes. Now when I open iWeb it takes me back to the original days of the site. I still have the desired folder in "Sites", but can seem to get in onto iWeb. Is there any way to put my latest site back onto iweb?
I haven't setup time machine, I publish using Easy iWeb Publisher, I don't have have a Mobileme account

Many months passed and I wasn't doing anything with that particular site any longer, so I nuked the pages within iWeb and have since worked on new projects.Now I need to do some work on that old site again.I have all of the created content in a folder that had been stored on my server, but I have nary a clue how to get it all back into iWeb again.

In iWeb 09, can I still maintain and build on this site even though the theme is not included anymore? Jan 27, 2009Is anyone having an issue with iWeb '09s FTP connections? I have a server running Windows Server 2003. For a while now I have been using filezilla and it has worked just fine.
Using iWeb 09', I have it configured the same way as i do in filezilla. It connects to my server and logs in fine, but when it try to do the test upload, it says it is unable to write. Now why would iWeb not be able to write by filezilla can?

Mar 7, 2009Has anyone had problems with re-publishing to a folder, after updating web pages with iWeb? What happens for me is that iWeb creates a 2nd 'site' folder within the already existing 'site' folder, duplicating all the web pages, which seriously confuses the server! The only way I have so far found to avoid this is to delete everything from my website folder before re-publishing. I'd be grateful if someone has an answer to this.

Dec 6, 2010I'm glad to have a more seamless solution with iWeb (ditching Transmit) but even though I have the 'Directory/Path' set to '/' I think it's needlessly duplicating my URL name and I can't remove it. I'll explain.
Say my site is example.com. I want to make a page called test.html. It ends up loading it to:
[URL]
In this case, in the site publishing settings pane (which isn't very intuitive to find, I'll add) under Site name: it defaults to 'example' and even if I delete 'example' then save it or publish changes or do anything, 'example' pops back in there automatically and it publishes it accordingly.
I hope I've made my question clear. I definitely have a dangerously low level of understanding when it comes to FTP transfers and domain names, etc.

Jul 16, 2008i'm trying to make a website with iWeb, and for some reason I can't move that darned menu bar on the top of all the templates. I am using the "modern frame" template.
Really, I just want to put a banner above the menu, but for some reason I can't figure out how to do it. Any ideas?
