I created a new password, which was fine for 4 days, but now iCloud again says my password is wrong. It's not. Apple has forgotten it, and I've had to create yet another one.

Sep 5, 2009My MacBook Pro is connected to the LED Cinema Display. Every time it wakes from sleep, or sometimes after screensaver, it forgets the colour profile. I have to go system preferences and click display and then it automatically uses the correct profile. This happens on both the LED display and the MacBook screen. I am running Snow Leopard, and I don't think I had this issue before upgrading. I googled and found one thread on a different forum about the exact same issue, but no answer. Apr 4, 2012Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.

Dec 31, 2008This is driving me insane. I'm a member of quite a few internet forums and I cannot for the life of me remember all of their passwords. Ever since updating OS X and Safari it keeps forgetting my login details for them even though I tell it to remember when I'm given the option! Sometimes it will remember and keep me logged into a forum when I next visit it. But then it seems to forget again after a couple of days. I'm getting rather fed up of this.

Jun 19, 2014I am trying to do a regular update to my MacBook, it tells me I need to quit Mail before I can do it. So I close it and quit it but the little dot that says its still there won't go. I keep telling it to quit which it won't and the computer won't shut down because mail won't let it.
Also I can even open Mail now and it won't go in to its normal sleep mode. What do I do?

Nov 4, 2008I don't know what I did. but I have any item in Keychain access named system I can unlock with my administrator Password from within Keychain Access. It doesn't show up on the Keychain Access item in menu bar. And I get message along the lines of. OSX requires you type password (which happens to be same as administrator password). there are only three items in it. a Dashboard advisory certificate, and the names of two airport Router items I have listed and each password for them

There appears no way to set preference for this system Key Chain to automatically open. suggestions? I think I also have a complete and Total melt down of the key chain system on my X.3.9 Drive Because I can't get keychain, accounts, Installer, Stickies, and Pacifist to open. There may be other but applications such as word, Acrobat, and all web browsers an mail/news client I have work fine. I deal with that issue after I get this fixed.
OS X Mavericks :: Mail Asks For Password Upon Launch Then Crashes When Password Is Entered
Jul 1, 2014For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent. Â
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.

Apr 3, 2010Since I upgraded to 9.1 this week, every time I try to sync my iPod iTunes pops up an error message telling me that it can't sync content from Audible b/c the computer isn't authorized for that account. If I click to play an audiobook, a login box appears, I type in my password, and everything is fine. I never had to do this before.

Nov 13, 2010I'm trying to use Safari on Windows again now that a smooth scroll extension has finally been released. However, I have now encountered another problem and was hoping someone could point me to the relevant option or checkbox to make this work. I like to make the text size on different websites different sizes using Ctrl & +. That works fine. However, unlike Firefox, IE and Chrome, Safari keeps forgetting my text size preferences, so when I close it and then re-open it, every website where I've altered the text size has gone back to the default text size. Is someone able to tell me how to get Safari to remember these text size preferences?

May 17, 2012I have my yahoo email account set up in my mac Mail. Recently I keep getting this message saying that Yahoo.ca IMAP server "imap.mail.yahoo.com" rejected the password. My password is all correct and I checked "Remeber this password in my keychain" but it still doesn't work. This message keeps poping out everytime no matter whether Yahoo is trying to receive new emails or not.
I originally thought it was a probelm from Yahoo, and I had emailed them this problem, and they said they had solved this issue from their end even though I kept telling them my password is still not accepted. The strange thing is that I think I could still send and receive emails (although not sure if I am receiving all the emails since the message kept poping out and that my yahoo keeps on going processing mode and then in the end a triangle with exclamation mark just appeared)
Another strange thing is that I have another Yahoo account on my Mail, yet this one never had simialr problem like this before. It is alsways this particular account I have that is having this problem. I tried changing my password, logging in Yahoo from their website making sure the POP setting has checked. Still didn't solve my problem
I have tried going into my keychain to verify and repair my password from Keychain First Aid. But no problem was found.I have also tried deleting my account from Mai Preference and re-added back on, still doesn't work.The first time this problem had happened to this account, I ended up deleting it from Mail and added back on and it seemed to work, however this time nothing seems to be working.

Oct 7, 2005I'm running Tiger on an iMac G5. I have had no problems with my mail account for the year that I've had the G5..until now. All of a sudden, I can't get my mail from my comcast pop account. It keeps asking for my password. When I enter the password (which I've had for over 6 years), it tells me that it is incorrect. So, I threw away my accounts and rebuilt them. Upon rebuilding, it said there was an error contacting comcast. What's confusing me is, I NEVER changed ANY setting and there was never a problem before a week ago. Needless to say, creating a new account didn't work. I called comcast, and SURPRISE!! they say it's a problem with Mac Mail and not Comcast. I verified my setting with them and they said that they were correct. The incoming is mail.comcast.net and the incoming is smtp.comcast.net - the port is set to the default of 25. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. I really on my email to get homework assignments, credit card statements, account verifications, and updates for software (garagesale updates almost daily). If you need any other info to help me, please feel free to ask. I will keep checking back - but have a lot of hwk. to get done tonight.
