So I want to get rid of mobile me... But my mobile me account, is my iTunes account name and password. So if I get rid of my mobile me, does that mean I will no longer be able to access the music I purchased?!

View 10 Replies View RelatedWorking on a 2011 Macbook Pro with 10.7.3.I"ve setup many other macs with the same build and they all have created the mobile account when logging in for the first time, but this one will not allow the mobile account to get created.I'm connected to the line that gives me LAN access. I can log in with my own credencials and that works fine.I suspect it's the way the AD account is setup on the server but I'm not an admin for that. The same account sets up fine on a Windows box. Once I log in for the first time, it goes directly to the desktop. Basicly a local account but no user directory is created. With Fast User Switching turned on I see that it's showing someone elses name there, not the user that I logged in with. i.e. It should show 'joe jones' but it's showing 'fred smith'
Can't get screen grabs because there is no access. Can't show the FInder drives for the same reason, even if I go make the user an admin from a local admin account.I've seen some fixes in the forums but nothing works. I could just give in and create a local account an leave it at that, but that is not a fix
I just used Chax to combine my AIM and Facebook accounts in iChat, but I just realized how many of my friends use the stupid mobile feature for AIM, so they all show up in my buddy list when they really arent available. Is there anyway I can hide those mobile accounts in iChat?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a MBP that I take to work with me every day. I like listening to iTunes at work and at home. I have a pretty large library so I moved the library from my MBP to a nice 500gb external HDD. So while Im at work, I plug it in and poof, Im off and running with my tunes.
I keep a copy of that library on my home server also.
Now here is where I get lazy. At home, Im much more mobile with my MBP. I take it on the deck, I have it in the basement, I bring it to the kitchen, garage, ect... I dont like carrying the external HDD around all over the place.
So recently I opened iTunes using the Option-click command and selected my home server as the location for the library. The very same library I keep a copy of on the external. iTunes gave me an error about not having a library file in that location. So I copied the library file from my external to my server and tried it again. iTunes loaded up but...
1. Im missing 50% of my artwork, artwork I spent a while collecting.
2. When I switch back to my external drive, iTunes gives me the same error from above. So I have to copy the library file to my external drive from my server and then back again when I want to switch again. (Hope that makes sense.)
I changed my mobile me password today because I didn't like it being the same as iTunes which I share with a few family members. In the past I had them the same but now wish them to have seperate passwords, is this possible? Today I changed my mobile me login password and it changed iTunes too.

I know I can use the consolidate library command, which will move the apps to the external. But as soon as I d/l another app iTunes begins saving them to the default folder again.

I recently and accidentally activated the mobile features to my account here at work. Since then, links to volumes have changed and I'm not sure what else has changed on my account. I was actually trying to setup screen sharing between my personal Macbook and my Work iMac, but failed. disable that feature on my account? Also, why are the Mobile account settings grayed out?

I have a brand new iMac running 10.7.4 bound to AD with mobile accounts to be created at login. We've had dozens of users log into this Mac with their AD credentials with no problems. Login proceeds as expected, home folders are created, etc. One user cannot log in. The login window will freeze (spinning beach ball) after he enters his credentials and the computer has to be manually shut down. After a restart you can see that his home directory has been created, with proper permissions, but he still cannot log in (spinning beach ball). However, he CAN log onto other AD bound Macs, just not this one. And he CAN log onto a bound Windows machine, so apparently there's nothing wrong with his account. There is no OD server in the mix. The computer is bound to our AD domain only. The system log shows the proper UID but indicates that the user name can't be found. But then the user folder (with the correct name) is created anyway. Later there is an entrry that the UID can't be found.

Okay, I'm planning on getting a new iMac in September (It will be my first Mac) and I want to bring over some, but not all, of my iTunes library on my old PC to the Mac. I want to know if, after I move all the music I want to to my new computer, can I continue using the same iTunes account I did on my PC (It's my whole families account), but also get any songs anyone buys on the old computer to the Mac by just logging in? Also, is it possible to send all of the music I buy on the Mac to the PC by using the same account? The reason I want to share music is because my brother and I like a lot of the same music and I don't want to have to keep burning the songs he buys on a disc so I can put them on my Mac.
So my question is, can I use the same account I use on my PC on my Mac? And will any songs that are bought on the PC using the same account as the Mac automatically be on the Mac? I'm sorry if I'm not very clear, I just can't think of any way to explain this better.
I have just tried to register an iTunes account, I put my apple Id, my credit card and billing info and then when I click continue this message "Please enter your Apple ID and password, then click Billing Info and update your payment information. If you cancel you may not be able to buy music until this billing issue has been resolved" keeps showing up no matter how many times I re-enter the information. What can I do? I don't understand the problem exactly, I think I did everything right!
View 2 Replies View Relatedon Monday, I received 2 email receipts from iTunes. Both were for a $50 iTunes gift card. I checked my bank account, and sure enough, I had 2 $50 drafts from my account.
I was out of town when it happened, but when I got home, I signed onto iTunes and checked my purchases...there they were. The thing is, no one was at home when it happened and my password is needed whenever I purchase anything. I have no idea how it happened!
I changed my password and emailed iTunes support. I chatted with them on Tuesday when they opened and they really didn't do anything but told me to call my credit card company. I called my bank and they sent me some fraud stuff so I can get my money back.
I did go back and check the cards and there's an email address on one of them...I guess to where the person was sending the cards to. Should I contact them? Apple finally sent me an email telling me to pretty much leave everything alone in case the police need to do an investigation.
I still don't know how this can happen. I'm very careful with what I do with my passwords.

Most ipod apps are small, they are HD versions very soon. If I keep my itune account and buy ipad apps, most of my ipod apps will be wasted.
I have no music, video...only apps, and they are worth like over 450$. I think if I try to sell that, i may have 50$ at least, I only picked useful, famous apps and games.
