I just got Adium today and wanted to know how to order my contacts alphabetically?! I read somewhere that you have to go to "view" and then "sort contacts alphabetically," but I have no idea where the view button is.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble sorting my itunes library. I have numerous different songs by different artists (i.e 700+ lil wayne songs). What I would like to do is sort my entire library alphabetically by artist. Then, I want each artists songs to be alphabetized. Its just way to hard to look through 700 shuffled songs from one artist.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)
I've been a Mac users for a good long time, but only recently have I gone back to using it as my primary computer again. Now, after the wonderful homecoming, the sorting on the Finder is really becoming unacceptable. Why can't it list the folders first and then list the Files? I really need to get this working to effectively target things I need to do. Has someone worked out a solution for this yet? Has Apple? You have a folder of files from A-Z numbering in the thousands, and only 4 folders inside of it that are scattered throughout the thousands of files alphabetically. How do I get ALL folders to simply list alphabetically at the top, before the Finder lists all the files? This doesn't seem like rocket-science, but I'm running out of keywords to search on, and I'm not having much luck. There's gotta be a Finder enhancer or system tweak somewhere, right?

How do I sort my Safari Bookmark Menus alphabetically..So far I have just had to highlight the bookmark and move it with the arrow to a black line that shows up in the space where I want to put it. In Firefox, you can right click the context menu and choose 'sort by name'. I don't see that option in Safari.

It seems that the contacts app has suddenly become incapable of accessing my contacts in the cloud. Its fine on icloud.com, its fine on my phone, and its fine on my ipads. However, I'm getting an error message right now which I think must be to do with an update to Little Snitch which I did almost immediately before, and which necessitated a reboot. Since the reboot, I am seeing the following

I need to delete all of the "sub-contacts" I have for someone, so that when I start typing in their name in the "to" field, only one name comes up, as opposed to all of this persons different emails.
We have switched from one email to another at my work, and the address that initially pops up is the old one. I tried deleting the contact from address book, but it did not change anything.
I'd like to add a second contacts/address book, comprised only of wok related contacts. I realize I can list them all in the original book and then add a group called work. However, I'd prefer to keep them completely separated from my other contacts. Anyway I can do that? Also, if I can do it, will the effort be duplicated on my iPhone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI decided it'd be nice to have my computer sync contacts with my iPhone over the air, so I decided to use Google's exchange sync with both. Once in a while it'll hiccup and duplicate entries or change someone's name, but it's worked well for the most part.
There is one thing that has been really bugging me though... I set up my parents contacts so their first name was either 'Mom' or 'Dad'. For some reason, my mom's last name changed to reflect her actual last name. I'm not sure what caused this, but I've managed to fix the name across the board. Despite this, when I compose a new message and type in "mom," the first address it autofills is Mom James (with her last name). My address book doesn't show this contact name anymore, neither does Google or my iPhone.
I'm helping a friend setup a new Mac and they're trying to sync contacts from their Windows laptop running Exchange/Outlook. They want to sync the contacts from there to the Mac's Address Book application. Just the contacts...nothing else. They have an iPhone and a MobileMe account. It'd be preferable if the solution was some type of free one. I tried setting up Exchange ActiveSync direct to the Mac Address Book but the Exchange server isn't 2007.
We tried setting up the iPhone with the Exchange ActiveSync and that did sync the contacts. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to bring those contacts from the iPhone to the Mac Address Book. I was thinking of running some kind of plugin (Yahoo or Google?) on Outlook to sync the contacts and then setting up the sync in the Address Book. MobileMe is out as an option there as the MobileMe sync on a PC doesn't work if Outlook is with Exchange.
How does one arrange icons from left to right a Windows. I would like the Mac disk icon in the upper left of the window followed by app and file icons to appear in alphabetical order from left to right. I know it will go vertically and then to the next row.

When I added contacts in my address book on my computer I ticked the "company" button... now I want to change ALL my contacts in the address book at once to not be known as "company".... I have 1600 contacts and do not want to do them one at a time!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a contact that is present in two separate accounts. However, the contact only shows up in ONE account. This makes me wonder if Adium combines the contact from two accounts. *note* both contacts are in groups in separate accounts. But the weird thing is, I have another contact thats present in both accounts, but he shows up as 2 contacts in adium.
