Does anybody know of a freeware program that is good for general doodling, and tablet-friendly? (eraser, in particular).

Are there any good chemical drawing software out there? I am a student who is currently studying chemistry courses in the university. For those who are familiar, I am looking for some good software which can draw nice chemical structures also to include some of the mechanisms.

I have iLive 09, recently upgraded from 08. I thought I'd play around with Faces, so I tagged about a dozen or so pics of my son's face.
It has been stuck on "KID may also be on the photos below" with the two spinning arrows for about a day. I see my CPU is running heavy the entire time on Activity Monitor with Iphoto taking most of the clicks.
How long does this usually take? or is this stuck in some bizarre loop and I'd best re-install iPhoto.. Going to let it run for another night (hope it doesn't get TOO hot!!)
I have about 13K photos when I select all and it gives me a count. That may be part of the issue.
This is my first post on the forums, although I'm planning on looking around in here once in a while, to see what people are posting.
For starters, I just wanted to tell you about this little problem I've been having with my MacBook 1,83GHz.
Sitting at my desk at work one morning, peacefully drinking my coffee, I suddenly received a rather discomforting error-message from my shiny new (about 1 month old) MacBook;
"A USB devise is currently drawing too much power and the port will be deactivated.".
My iMac says my wacom tablet is drawing too much power and won't allow it to run. This has never happened before. I've owned them both together for about a year.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for some drawing software specialized in scientific and physics diagrams. I need to draw forces, vectors, tilted planes with sliding blocks and other schematics. I don't need the tool to do maths calculations or to plot functions, data manipulations, etc. Just a drawing tool for diagrams, schematics, with the usual arrows, vectorial symbols etc.

The hub to which it is attached to will be deactivated." Now I have seen this same problem posted, but I have No Device hooked up at all. I have a 2 year old macbook pro 2.4 GHz, running 10.5 I've tried rebooting but it continues to occur.

In the last two weeks, every time I plug my Apple 27" display cables into my macbook (power, display and USB connections), I get the following error message on my screen about USB ports are drawing too much power. I don't have anything plugged into the USB ports on the back of my display.

I need to do work in a program then copy individual drawings to a word document. Inspiration has been recommended, though it is a lot for just what I need, which is basic shapes and lines. I'm a football coach drawing up plays, then I output to a word document, which becomes the playbook.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a tough one regarding an iMac G5 ALS 17" 2Mhz I am fixing. First I want to point out that I am familiar with the innards of these ancient beasts as I have fixed a couple 1st gen iMac G5 as well as iSights and Duos.
When I plug in the cord in the PSU, the 1st diagnostic LED comes on but when trying to start the computer the second diagnostic LED comes briefly on and then goes off. Nothing else happens, no chimes, nothing. According to Apple KB this is the sign of a faulty PSU. Yet, I have tried replacing the PSU and I get the same result.
Now the weird part is that if I unhook the LCD cable the computer starts normally (it chimes) with the display off. What is most puzzling is that it will start with the inverter hooked up but the LCD display cable off but will not start with the inverter entirely taken off but with the LCD cable on. It seems that it is the LCD itself that prevent the computer from starting. I thought the inverter would draw current but not the LCD itself so it's probably something else.
Anybody had anything similar happen to them? Could it be that the inverter is faly but it only draws when the LCD is hooked? Could it be some kind of short in the LCD or something that make it draw even with the inverter unhooked?

I have to say that switching to Lion has not been the joy I was led to believe. One of the most annoying of the many annoying quirks of Lion is that the right hand Scroll Bar no longer has Up/Down arrows, just a stupid and hard to see gray bar of varying length, and controlling it is a nightmare. Does anyone know anything about how to add Up/Down arrows to the scroll bars? Is there some setting. Apple, if you're listening, please restore this essential function to your OS. The lack of Up/Down arrows in the scroll bar makes Lion more like an alley cat.

Just got a new Mini with Mavericks. In setting it up I notice that applications like Preview and Safari, and probably others, do not have the scroll arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar. Is this something new with Mavericks, I've been using Snow Leopard for the past 5 years.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI get this strange message every so often, sometimes more often than other times. It says:
USB port drawing too much power. The device that is plugged into it will be deactivated.
There are only two things plugged into the USB-The keyboard and mouse. When I get this message, the mouse freezes. If I jiggle the mouse cable where it is plugged into the USB, it comes back and everything is fine until this message comes up again.
Can someone tell me where I might be able to get a good quality line drawing (outline) of the apple logo in vector format? I have attached a small copy of what I need but I need something I can scale to about 3/4' to 1" (a little bigger than it is) without jaggies.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTonight I've been transfering all my files over from my old MacBook and everytime I try to connect my IPhone 3GS by USB to my Mac a message comes up straight away saying "A device conected to your computer is drawing too much power, apple has disconected this device to prevent damage occuring to your computer"
I have tried to connect my phone numerous times while it has been conected to the power cord and also running on battery.
It also took my new Mac a good half an hour to recognise my external hard drive was connected and let me use it..
I have had this problem once or twice with the same IPhone and my old mac so im thinking it may be a problem with my phone considering it is 2 years old now?
But then again, my old mac that is nearly 4 can still connect to my phone when my new MBP can't.

I work for a small business man and use my old Appleworks drawing program to make certificates and flyers for him because it is so easy to manipulate individual parts of the text and pictures.I want to update my computer so it can communicate with my ipad, but am afraid I will loose the ability to use my files and program.
