Applications :: Using Spanish Microsoft Word Auto-correct?
May 6, 2009For some reason my auto-correct has a dictionary based in spanish. Example: when editing my resume I have put down the word Administrative , but it says it is wrong and gives suggestions such as Administrativa or Administrativo.
I have changed the spell check options to only have US english as the default setting and this suddenly pops up. I never put Spanish in my international language settings on the mac, nor have I had someone who speaks spanish use the computer.

Is this something really simple that I'm missing? I've been playing around for 20 minutes trying to work out how to stop Word adding that damn line space..

Sep 28, 2007I'm wanting to learn to speak Spanish and was wondering if anyone could recommend some inexpensive Mac software. I have a Windows version of something, but I don't have Windows on my Mac, and not much room on my HDD to install it, so I'm wanting a Mac one.
I've looked around online, and, honestly, it's a bit confusing without actually trying out the software.

Oct 18, 2007I am trying pages '08 in hopes that it will be the long sought replacement for MS word. Only one problem so far - I do lots of writing in Spanish but there is no way to access the Spanish dictionary in my Pages spell checker. When I hit <spelling> and then <spelling> the spell dialog comes up ok but only in English and there is no dictionary button that will allow me to change languages. It is not a problem with the OS X speller because the dictionary and dialogs work fine in both Spanish and English in other programs such as Mellel, Word, and even in the '08 versions of Keynote and Numbers. I love everything else about it so far but this one quirk would make it impossible for me to give up Word. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem with Pages?

If I add a Spanish dictionary to the dictionary App will that atomatically be used in spell check as well? If so does anyone have and recomendations? Mar 30, 2012I haven't had this work with Lion on my macbook pro that just died nor the Macbook Air I just got. I use accents on letters all the time and it would be really helpfu. I've tried turning off key repeat, that doesn't help. I tried copy and pasting something into terminal I saw on one of the other discussions, but that didn't help either (although it is possible I did it wrong since I don't use Terminal hardly ever). Â

Last information : it looks ok within chrome on my Imac, but the issue comes back when I try to print from chrome app...the accents are gone on the sheet.Â

So I clicked add and it gave me a list of apps to choose from - the one I chose was Safari. It then says enter the menu title (no idea what that is) so I just called it Safari. Then I chose the keyboard command - command S. When I clicked off it and tried it nothing happened.

Dec 15, 2009I have a MacBook Pro with Leopard and the latest iTunes.
For some weird reason iTunes starts to add every file twice. And I don't mean that it just keep the original, it actually adds the file two times in the iTunes Music folder.
I just added 300 Beatles Songs but now it added every single song twice...I have 600 songs now. This happened now and then before and its REALLY annoying. Especially when I need to delete every single file manually. The show duplicates just shows both files but I still need to highlight every 2nd file and then delete it.

Oct 20, 2010I am attempting to modify the given template CHECKING ACCOUNT REGISTER in Numbers. I have figured everything out except how to modify the "Category" column where a drop-down menu is given for several recurring items (Home/Gas/Food/etc.) that are to be entered in that column. I would like to find how to create such a column or to be able to modify the one provided in the template. The TRANSACTIONS table is linked to the ACCOUNT CATEGORIES table which is linked to the CHART. That is intact and working as it should, but I have been unable to alter the column CATEGORY so that the drop down items will be ones that I want to use. Having the drop-down menu insures proper itemization in the linked ACCOUNT CATEGORIES table where typos are avoided as a result. The PDF manual was of little help (to me anyway) in addressing this seemingly simple alteration.
