Apr 24, 2010So I mounted the app today and on the left is the Google Earth icon that you install in your app folder, while on the right is the Web Plug-In version of it. Apart from accessing Google Earth through an app VS. through web browser, is there any other difference? Why should I install web plug-in as opposed to the app?

Apr 12, 2012Yesterday, Safari began crashing every 45 minutes. I get a message that says Safari quit unexpectedly because of a plug-in called .MasterofDefense.tmp. I used finder to search my computer, and I cannot find this file. PlugIn Path: /Users/<myname>/Library/Application Support/.MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Identifier: .MasterofDefense.tmpPlugIn Version: ??? (???) The file is NOT in that location mentioned in the crash log. According to web searches, MasterofDefense is some game, but I have never installed any games on my machine.

Apr 28, 2010Just seen that Maps, by Google, is offering an 'Earth View' I downloaded the plug in but am having trouble installing it. I have the .dmg file which when i open shows me the plug in as a sort of Lego brick and states I must double click to install. So i double click. Nothing appears to happen, but i assume it has and go back to Google Maps which tells me i still need the plug in! Please tell me how to manually install plug ins or what could be wrong with my poor mac.

I've found the "Plugins" folder that is in the Safari application folder, I just don't know whether to put the entire folder there, or a certain file. >_<

Feb 26, 2009I was very excited like everyone to install new Safari 4 and the excitement sustained for a while. Ubiquitously, it is visually delightful meeting Apple Standards. However, I lost lot of plugins that I had for earlier Safari version. Plugins like: DivX player, Real player are gone after I installed the new version. It is not recognizing by itself if there are missing plugins and neither I see an option where I can install by myself.

If you fill in the contact form and send a message, it will say if the mail doesn't get though, use the email in the readme but i can't find the readme. I have read it's quite difficult to contact the main guy which is a shame as saft is a great little addition to safari.

Jun 17, 2010I installed Safari 5 a few days ago (the standalone update before 10.6.4 was released), and I noticed in Safari 5, the Google logo hasn't changed (it did last month). I don't get the new left sidebar either in the search results. I installed Safari 5 today on another Mac, and this is working. I already reinstalled Safari to no avail. So how can I get this to work? Below, on the left, is what I see in Firefox. On the right is what I see in Safari.

In Firefox this opens a new tab but with Safari it uses the current tab which messes with the flow of my work. Oct 13, 2009My Safari won't load google images. Google itself works, and I can search all day long without fail, all the links are fine. But if I'm using google images, nothing loads up. I have deleted my history, emptied my cache, and finally reset safari, still nothing. Google works, its just google images I can't access.
However, I took my macbook into my local Apple store and as you guess, it worked a treat (making me look silly!). So this led me to believe it must be something with my internet connection, something in my modem settings. My parents have a HP Windows vista laptop, and google images works fine for them. And they use the same wifi network.
So now I'm stumped!
I have had my 13inch Macbook since February, and up until a month ago, I could load anything in google images. However a month ago I had to have my hard drive replaced when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I apparently had a corrupt drive, so under warranty I got a new one - so the computer I am with now only has a hard drive that is 5 weeks old - I have no parental controls, no anti virus software, nothing that I could think of that might affect it?

Apr 11, 2010I've tried both of these browsers and I like Chrome more in almost every aspect except one. Because of this aspect, I continue to use Safari.
I don't know if this is the official name of the feature but it seems logical to me. Autocomplete or autofill.
Basically, when I am typing a URL in Safari, if the URL is in my bookmarks or history it will complete the rest of the address for me and all I have to do is hit enter.
For example, I have [URL] in my favorites. I type "fa" and safari fills in the rest, I just hit enter and I'm there.
