View 2 Repliesi have an issue on eBay with Safari 4. The problem I have is the dropdown menu where you sort the items. I can't get the dropdown to open up so I can change the option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get this ad every time I load the page. I figured it was a cookie problem so I searched my cookies for 'Google' and deleted all the results. I'm still getting it. It's not happening in Firefox, only Safari. It's been there since Friday or Saturday. Am I the only one?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't log in to ebay - I just get a message that Safari find the server.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Safari 5 a few days ago (the standalone update before 10.6.4 was released), and I noticed in Safari 5, the Google logo hasn't changed (it did last month). I don't get the new left sidebar either in the search results. I installed Safari 5 today on another Mac, and this is working. I already reinstalled Safari to no avail. So how can I get this to work? Below, on the left, is what I see in Firefox. On the right is what I see in Safari.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased my new iMac having made the leap from PC. Overall I love my new machine (and the iPhone and Apple TV that accompany it...) However, in a bid to recoup some of the large outlay, I was seeking to list lots of things on eBay this weekend. However, at what appeared to be almost every other key stroke/action I was returned to the home screen and asked for my login details again, and again, and again! Clicking the 'remember me' box made no difference whatsoever.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the things I like about using Firefox is the ability to select a word and search for it in Google. In Firefox this opens a new tab but with Safari it uses the current tab which messes with the flow of my work. Are their any tweaks to making Safari open a new tab when using the search in google feature or am I stuck with using Firefox until Apple addresses this?
View 1 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden I can not get onto google. I have tried it in both firefox and safari and cleared all the data. I also have restarted. Each time I try to go to it it comes up a page saying connection interrupted. Do you think something is stopping it from going there?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I get Safari to use Google.co.uk instead of Google.com as its default search plug in?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt used to be when I highlighted a word and right clicked the word, I could do a google search on it.
Now when I press google search it downloads something vs going to google on the browser.
What am I doing wrong? I can't seem to find anything in safari to change that.
I noticed this after upgrading to SL and is safari 4.0.4
Just got my first IMac. Beautiful machine to look at, but there are a few things that I have to get used to. One of them is Safari. Actually, I prefer Google. Any comments?
View 24 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else experiencing this using Google search in Safari?
I'm unable to remove the results pane to the left - This started happening a few days ago.... Weird thing is, the pane doesn't show up in Firefox when searching via Google, and it doesn't show up when using Safari on my brothers iMac.
just noticed Safari 5 is out, updates better then google chrome? or is google chrome still overall a better browser?

Previously the solution was to install Safari plugins Inquisitor or Glims but Apple have removed the interfaces from Safari 4 that these plugins used - and there is still no built in Safari Preference to set the locale of the Google search. Effectively this renders the Safari Google Search field pretty well useless - at least for UK users. If you're searching for UK-based businesses or individuals, for example, the thousands of USA results that come up first are just not relevant - (that's an example of British Understatement. by the way
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have only recently switched to Mac and was looking for a browser that had a few more options to suit my needs than safari (tried pimp my safari) and so downloaded FireFox and I love the customize google app or plug in. It's brilliant. But as FireFox doesn't use keychain (what are the disadvantages of this) I was wondering if anyone knew of an app or plug in that can customize google for safari in the same way? How I can add buttons to the toolbar. The supplied toolbar is pretty limiting. How I can improve my safari so that I can keep everything integrated or will I have to stick with FireFox?
View 12 Replies View RelatedIs anybody else getting this error? Quite annoying. Resetting Safari didn't work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThe old safari had a "clear search" option at the bottom of the list in the google bar up top. It's gone in 4.0
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to get the Google search field at the top right of Safari to use [URL]?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of changing the google search bar from searching [URL] to search [URL]?
Would like a windows and an OS X solution if there is one.
I Installed Safari 4.0.3 but for some reason the Google Suggestions drop down menu is no longer disabled and appears on top of Inquisitor. This is annoying because I prefer to use Google UK.
Does anyone know how to disable Google suggestions in Safari 4.0.3 or as a work around make Safaris default search engine Google UK?
My Safari won't load google images. Google itself works, and I can search all day long without fail, all the links are fine. But if I'm using google images, nothing loads up. I have deleted my history, emptied my cache, and finally reset safari, still nothing. Google works, its just google images I can't access.
However, I took my macbook into my local Apple store and as you guess, it worked a treat (making me look silly!). So this led me to believe it must be something with my internet connection, something in my modem settings. My parents have a HP Windows vista laptop, and google images works fine for them. And they use the same wifi network.
So now I'm stumped!
I have had my 13inch Macbook since February, and up until a month ago, I could load anything in google images. However a month ago I had to have my hard drive replaced when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I apparently had a corrupt drive, so under warranty I got a new one - so the computer I am with now only has a hard drive that is 5 weeks old - I have no parental controls, no anti virus software, nothing that I could think of that might affect it?
How can I change the google search to search google.co.uk? 90% of the time I'm only interested in UK stuff. Other wise I end up doing the search then editing the .com to .co.uk and sending again. Which seems very silly. Or loading up google UK in the first place.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've tried both of these browsers and I like Chrome more in almost every aspect except one. Because of this aspect, I continue to use Safari.
I don't know if this is the official name of the feature but it seems logical to me. Autocomplete or autofill.
Basically, when I am typing a URL in Safari, if the URL is in my bookmarks or history it will complete the rest of the address for me and all I have to do is hit enter.
For example, I have [URL] in my favorites. I type "fa" and safari fills in the rest, I just hit enter and I'm there.
Hi, I recently updated Safari on the Mac (as prompted by software updater!) Since the update when I try to sell on eBay I'm constantly asked to sign in after every page or operation and then when I go to list it crashes out? This is meaning it takes 1hr to list a product compared to 5mins?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the google searcher in safari (the one at the top of the window, not a toolbar or whatever) to search UK sites not US, just sommat thats been bugging me a bit recently, searching Amazon.com not .co.uk etc etc anybody got any hints on that? I read elsewhere on here that I can apparently do the above mod by installing SIMBL and getting that to work in inputmanagers etc. However I have an issue the .pkg file wont install.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know the PC version of GoogleChrome has an export tool but I can't seem to find one on the Mac beta version.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLike an idiot I thought I'd try switching user agents as I was messing around with iPhone optimising a few web pages. So I saw in Safari 4.0.4 on my iMac, the Develop menu, where I changed the user agent to "iPhone xxx". I then switched back to auto detecting user agent. Ever since then, the google.co.uk page has screwed up, as it always loads in mobile view, and not the classic view it used to: This is what I always get now whenever I visit google.co.uk: When I click on the "Classic View" link, I get this page, which displays correctly: Notice the extra text in the URL... which I shouldn't have to put that everytime! Strangely google.com loads up fine: I have deleted all cookies associated with "google" and also rebooted my iMac, but still google.co.uk defaults to the classic view. I tried forcing the User Agent to Safari 4.0.4, but it didn't make any difference as it still loads in mobile view! Here are the cookies I have now which relate to google.
