Aug 14, 2010Running on a Late 2008 MBP 15" with 2.53 GHZ C2D, 320 GB HD, and 9400+9600m GT. I've been having a recent issue where when I've been playing a song, and I click in the middle to get to a part that I like, iTunes skips to the next song. If I look at it closely, what happens is the cursor-thing that shows where you are in the song jumps to the point that I clicked on for about 1/4 of a second before jumping to the end and playing the next song. Yet when I let it play through all the way, the problem does not exist. It only happens when I'm around the beginning of the song and I click around to somewhere around the middle/after that.

Apr 18, 2012Occasionally when I import a CD to my iTunes library via the File menu/Import CD on Snow Leopard; iTunes 10, iTunes appears to skip a song and no information appears when I enter the search terms in the search box. This happens even though all title information appears before I click "Import CD" and all the boxes are checked. I've found that if the CD is still inserted, I can import the songs to a single playlist by dragging the titles to it. So apparently the song did import, but for some reason doesn't appear in the library list. This isn't usually a problem, but I'd like to know why it happens and how to prevent it, since I'd rather have the complete information in my library.

Sep 2, 2010Select Shuffle Mode. Pause your music, or make sure nothing is playing, then go to Minimize view.
Now hit FFW or REV. What appears in the track info box? Nothing, right? iTunes doesn't show you what song it has shuffled to. It only works if you are playing, not in pause.
Surely this is wrong? Sometimes you want to select song before playing it, right? This works fine on my Ipod. Everyone else have this problem?

Feb 22, 2008we have a macbook pro running Leopard. My wife and I have separate user accounts on the single laptop and keep the music in one central Public folder (both or our iTunes are pointed to this public folder). For some reason, my wife is unable to make any changes to song info (album art, change genre, etc.). However, she can play the music, update her Nano, import music, etc. The only thing she can't do is make changes to the song info. This isn't an issue with my account because I am the primary user account on the computer. We are both set up as Admin and I have assigned Read/Write privileges to all files. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? Tech support/program specialist has no idea.

I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.
Instead of having:

ARTIST Samuel Barber
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I want to batch rename all songs so that the Album name becomes the Artist and each "Artist" name is inserted into the "Song" name

Dec 2, 2010I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..

Jul 16, 2010I have been importing my large music CD collection and midway through, I have noticed that the first track of EVERY disc has NOT been copied to my library. The remaining tracks (Track 2 and up) were imported fine. When each CD was importing, everything looked normal and I got a green checkmark next to the first track. What's even more bizarre is that now, I cannot recreate this problem because iTunes imports the first track of every CD as normal. What the heck?! I'm going to have to re-import the first track of every disc now... Did a Google search and got nothing. I'm running the latest, up-to-date iTunes (v9.2) and Mac OS X (v10.6.4).

Apr 21, 2012I purchased an entire album on iTMS, on my Mac(Lion), and all but one track will play on iTunes, and iPhone4(iOS 5.1). I've additionally downloaded the purchased album on another Mac(Snow Leopard), and all tracks play, except the one track in question. When I go to play this song, it prompts me to 'authorize' the track to be played. I put in the correct info, and it does NOT play. This happens on each device. There were no iterruptions in any of the downloads of the tracks.Â

Out of the blue iTunes suddenly decided it was going to redownload all my apps completely unnecessarily as they're all already installed on the computer and the iPhone. It wouldn't be an issue if I just had one or two, but I literally have 100s of apps of varying sizes, including a few that are upwards of 100mb. I don't want it to continually hog my bandwidth redownloading everytime I open iTunes. At the minute I'm clicking "pause all" everytime I open it. my main priority is stopping it.

It says my machine is authorized but then when I click to play a song, it keeps asking me for authorization ID and password but won't play the song.

Jan 18, 2010I've got about 150 individual podcasts downloading and I've subscribed to about 20 , the problem is it's now stuck and won't let me "Pause all" or "resume all" on the download screen. I have a feeling if I shut it down the hard way I'll lose all those individual podcasts and podcast subscriptions that I entered, and it took me hours to figure out the ones I wanted. Is there a way to backup so it will resume all this on restart?

Oct 31, 2010I recently purchased The 99 Darkest Pieces of Classical Music from Amazon. Yeah, it's sucky MP3, but it was free and I'm not a big classical music buff. I have the Album Artist field empty, and every track marked as "Part of a Compilation". So far so good. When I go to change the Artist field of any track, to fix a misspelling or capitalization error, for example, that track is instantly dragged out of the track listing for 99 Darkest and into its own album, with the album name being Unknown Album. This despite the track still being marked as Part of a Compilation. If I restore the original spelling, the track is dragged back into 99 Darkest's list. It's not like iTunes to maintain state like that. What's happening and how do I fix it?

OS X :: Stutter In ITunes When Clicking Song To Song?
Dec 11, 2008I have a decent size music library(40+gig) on my late MB and i find that iTunes is slow to load when I open it and sometimes when im clicking around songs there is a half second pause before the song is highlighted and then starts to play. Since the program is pulling the info off the HD im thinking that if i got a higher capacity 7200 rpm drive that this would help (currently my stock 150gig only has 50gigs left) with this stutter or would upgrading to 4gig ram?

It played all songs fine before but since to upgrade the songs are jumping like they would if they were a scratched CD. The songs play fine coming from my ipod and my iphone. It's driving me crazy and I cant use my itunes anymore because of it.
