My itunes is not playing songs properly since I upgraded to itunes 10.
It played all songs fine before but since to upgrade the songs are jumping like they would if they were a scratched CD. The songs play fine coming from my ipod and my iphone. It's driving me crazy and I cant use my itunes anymore because of it.
I have no idea why this is happening or HOW I can fix it as I am a bit of a technotard.
I have song compilation albums in itunes. I prefer to seach by Artist, not album. Compilation albums often assign a different artist for each song. I don't like this, as I end up with thousands of artists, each with only one song! Here's an example:
I copy "Classical Chillout" compilation album to itunes. 30 songs show up, each with their own (new) artist name, song name, and all within the album "Classical Chillout.
Instead of having:
SONG Adagio for Strings
ARTIST Samuel Barber
ALBUM Classical Chillout
I want to batch rename all songs so that the Album name becomes the Artist and each "Artist" name is inserted into the "Song" name
I know you can use iTunes dj to "play song next" or whatever but I don't like iTunes DJ for the fact that you don't have 100% control over what songs are playing if you want to pinpoint certain songs, etc..
Is there any way that I can line up a song to play after the current song without interrupting the current song and immediately playing the song I want next?
i bought a song on itunes the other day and i realized that only the beginning half of the song will play and then it will stop for the other half and no sound will be coming out but it will still be playiny. how do i get a refund or how can i redownload the song on itunes?
I live in japan if it makes a difference, but download through US iTunes. Starting tonight, my subscribed tv shows are downloading extremely slow. the time is jumping around crazy from ETA 2 minutes to 203hours. Rented a movie on ATV and there was no lag. Not sure what is going on.
When selecting a song to play from iTunes library, I continually get an error message indicating the original file could not be found. Then asks, would you like to locate it?I'm not even able to play the songs I purchased due to this error message.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iTunes Error Message
When I download some of my music, it shows up in the User's download file in the Finder, can I delete file in the Finder folder without losing the music file on iTunes?
As the main title says I am trying to find out why Itunes adds a folder for each new song that I add to Itunes it very nice if you have a few albums but when you intend to add a few thousand songs it could becoming a House Keeping problem.
I purchased a song on itunes but only half the song downloaded. When I go to quick links and select purchase, I see the song as purchased but it wont download. It is behaving like a song you would listen to on itunes. It has the arrow with blue back round still. What can I do to get my song completely downloaded.
This is SO frustrating. I bring in my new iMac for the techs to move my iTunes over, I bring it home and have not been able to listen to one song. I double click on it and it says "Cannot find file, locate?" I say yes, it brings me to the album artwork. I am not at all comfortable yet with the iMac environment so need step by step instructions!Â
I cannot play a song on itunes by double clicking the song. I can only play a song by fast forwarding or fast backing from the original song played to the next song I want to play. I can then hit play and the song will play. what is my problem other than general ineptitude?
i use to be able for example take a .mp3 that is on my desktop and drag it into itunes and it would then be in the music list on itunes, now i cant do it, i have updated to the latest version and still nothing... i have reinstalled itunes it worked i restarted the computer and i open itunes and i can
I have a decent size music library(40+gig) on my late MB and i find that iTunes is slow to load when I open it and sometimes when im clicking around songs there is a half second pause before the song is highlighted and then starts to play. Since the program is pulling the info off the HD im thinking that if i got a higher capacity 7200 rpm drive that this would help (currently my stock 150gig only has 50gigs left) with this stutter or would upgrading to 4gig ram?
Ive uploaded around 20CD to iTunes and twice now I have opened up a CD in my iMac to listen to it and the first song could not be found. What is going on here? Its not a big deal or anything because these are my CDs so ive just uploaded them again.
Please note, if the song was available for purchase, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
When Led Zeppelin did their reunion concert in London in 2007, they played a version of Kashmir I really like - more than the original. I've only seen it on YouTube, and would love to get it onto my iPod.
I have one song that will not sync to my iphone. It is a 43min long Nike running track which itunes gave away for free last year. I would love to listen to it as I run but I can't find it on my iphone. It is checked in itunes and I have it set to sync my entire music library so it should be on there. Any ideas?
If it matters I have changed my email address that I use for my itunes account since then but to my knowledge all of the older music I bought with that account still syncs perfectly fine.
Also it shows up that it is on my iphone when I look at it in itunes but not on the iphone when it is not connected. I watched it sync saying updating that track on the phone too.
Running on a Late 2008 MBP 15" with 2.53 GHZ C2D, 320 GB HD, and 9400+9600m GT. I've been having a recent issue where when I've been playing a song, and I click in the middle to get to a part that I like, iTunes skips to the next song. If I look at it closely, what happens is the cursor-thing that shows where you are in the song jumps to the point that I clicked on for about 1/4 of a second before jumping to the end and playing the next song. Yet when I let it play through all the way, the problem does not exist. It only happens when I'm around the beginning of the song and I click around to somewhere around the middle/after that.
I've just discovered something in my Library, and I don't know whether I have a problem, or if I should care . . . ;^)
I have 16 songs showing in iTunes 10.0.1 from a 2-disk release called "Cafe del Mar Vol 13" - all songs play fine, and I have song and CD numbers for all songs, and each song has the box "Part of a compilation" checked.
In my main file system (same level as "Applications") is a folder called "iTunes Music", and in that is "Compilations" - further down inside that is "Cafe del Mar Vol 13" but it only has 11 of the 16 songs.[/iTunes Music/Compilations/Cafe del Mar Vol 13]
At the same level as "Compilations" is "iTunes Song Files" and in that is "Music" and inside that is another "Compilations" folder, and another "Cafe del Mar Vol 13" folder. This only has 13 of the 16 songs, and one is a duplicate. [/iTunes Music/iTunes Song Files/Music/Compilations/Cafe del Mar Vol 13]
Which of these is the "correct" Compilations folder? If I compare the files in each folder, I have all 16 songs that are displayed in iTunes, just not all in one folder. Should I be worried?
And should I bother with trying to "fix" either of these folders so they have the correct collection of 16 songs? If I move files around, will iTunes get confused?
Other possibly useful bits of info: 1) I have almost 10,000 songs; 2) I use the iVolume app to set the same playback volume level; and 3) all songs have been synching fine with my iPod Touch.
When I go to play a song in iTunes (any song at all, and all the files are definitely there) it just won't play. The play/pause button will change to the pause symbol but nothing else will happen. The ticker-thing at the top which tells you what is playing will say that, that song is on but the timer just stays at 0:00.
Currently running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes but this happened before when I was on Vista too. Seems to happen every time I open iTunes now...
After a bit of searching I'm getting the idea this isn't possible but I thought I'd double check here. All I want to do is play music files in folders without the damn thing importing it every time. Can this be done? I can see how it can be done for CD's, but not files on HD.
I know *how* to do this, by going to "get info", and I have done it before. But, for some reason I *can't* actually do it anymore. When I select a group of songs to change info on, it acts like its going to work but then does nothing. When I select a single item, the get info tab is completely grayed out, nothing can be clicked on or changed. I have tried checking the song outside of iTunes to make sure it isn't read only or anything and I haven't found any issues with that. None of these should have any copy protection, they've all been ripped from cd or downloaded.
The only way I have been able to change anything so far is to convert the mp3 to AAC. I really don't want to have to convert the whole library. What is wrong with this?? How do I fix it?
I the new iTunes all my songs on each album are in the opposide order of the actual album: so each time i play the album it starts from the last song to the first one...how can i make this stop?
I consolidated my iTunes library because some files were on an external and the rest on the computer and when I did this it made copys of most of the songs in my music folder. Also it didn't consolidate the whole library it still shows many songs on the external.
The actual iTunes library is right, just not all songs point to the computer hard drive.
I have about 100 gigs worth of duplicates that I have no idea how to delete besides doing them one by one. Any ideas on how to fix this?
This is how my iTunes folder looks for most albums.
I am in Garage Band and I just finished transferring a song from my cassette player to Garage Band. The question I have is how can I edit the first part of the song that I do not want so I can move it to iTunes?
Is there anyway to prohibit ichat from posting up my current itunes song? It does it even without my asking. I switch my status to available which makes it go away until the next song comes up at which time it changes my status from available to the current itunes song. Any ideas?
Anyone having an issue when previewing a song, clicking play, but then clicking on the stop doesn't actually stop the preview? The song keeps playing until I click twice, but then it just replays the song preview. This is happening on 2 computers for me.
'm new to itunes and was reading the online help manual, which says that when I click delete on a song, I should have two options. One is to remove the song from my library and the other is delete the song from my computer permanently. I would like to delte the song from my computer, but the only option is "are you sure you want to remove the song from your itunes library"
I'm using a pc and have left my songs in their original location and have not imported them into itunes folder.
With Itunes 9, every song I play gets added to the Itunes library, even if I don't want it there. I have Itunes as my default music player on a Windows 7 (64-bit) computer. For example, if in windows explorer, I click on an MP3 file that is not in the Itunes library, Itunes starts up and plays the song (which is fine), but also it adds the song to the itunes library (which I don't want). I don't see any options to change this behavior.
