Applications :: Imap In Mail Not Working - How To Do Setting

Jan 28, 2009

I am running IMAP in all 3 of my macs I access using Mail.app. The first two (call there 1 and 2) macs are running 10.4 and the issue I am having is with the third (call this 3) mac which is running 10.5. Heres the scenario

When I access a new message on computer 1 or 2, it marks it read on that computer, and then marks it read on the other 1 or 2 computer, but it never marks it read on the mac 3. If I access a new message on mac 3, it DOES mark it read on all macs. Is there a setting I have missed with mac 3?

Applications :: Setting Up Time Delayed Email?

Jun 27, 2006

I was wondering if anyone knows a good way of setting up time-delayed email?

The reason being, my girlfriend has her driving theory test about 3 days after I leave the country for a few weeks, and I will most probably be without internet access for the first few days I'm away.

At the moment, I'm sending her little mini tests every day, to help her revise, that I write myself (well, I copy them out of the book )

So I'd like to be able to send like 2 or 3 emails with mini-tests in... I'd like to specify the time and date they are delivered.

Applications :: Setting Up Yahoo Pop3 Server On Mail

Jan 1, 2011

I want to set my OH's Mail program to access her yahoo mail account, but it doesn't seem to want to play. I have set my own Hotmail account to work in Mail with no problem, but with Yahoo, when I enter the usual POP3 server info, it just rejects it. Will it make any difference that we are using a.uk Yahoo address instead of a .com one? Or is it impossible to set up a Yahoo email account in Mail on a Mac?

Anyone know how I can set a permanent Reply To header for all my mail accounts in Mail? I've found a couple scripts by searching the net, but all old stuff and nothing that works. Anyone care to take a crack at it? Applecare's official stance is that you need to type it in manually for every message. There has to be some way around this.

Applications :: Keynote - Setting Time Intervals For Slides?

May 7, 2010

I have Powerpoint on the PC, and there you are able to rehearse and save timings, i.e; say you have a project and have music in the background, you can go to the next slide depending on when you click 'Next' or whatever? Get what I mean? So you're able to rehearse timings so you don't have to control it, it's kind of like a movie. Let me know how to do this with Keynote 09'.

OS X :: Mail Setup - Ask For Password Every Time To Login

Dec 9, 2010

I just set up the Mail app but dislike that even after I quit the app if I click it again to reopen it it doesn't require me to re-enter my password. This means even if I close/quit it and walk away from my laptop anyone who uses it can just click Mail and they have complete access to my Gmail account.

I went into preferences but could not find where or how to require it to ask for my password after it's been closed. If there isn't an option then I will go back to copying an address when on a website then opening gmail and pasting it and emailing. Obviously using the Mail app would be more convenient for those types of emails but if it means my account is always open and available for anyone to read then I will go back to the longer method.

Applications :: Setting Default Reply To Address In Apple Mail

Dec 15, 2008

I am wondering how, if possible, to set the default "reply-to" address on Apple Mail. I know I can manually add it to each message I compose, but that's rather cumbersome. I'd like to be able to configure Mail so every message I send out will automatically use the same "reply-to" mail address. Is it possible?

further, in iCal i cal reorder calendars but only the ones on my local machine can be at the top of the list and not the Exchange calendar that is my primary one.

Applications :: Mac Mail Keeps Asking For My Password

Nov 6, 2008

For one of my e-mail accounts, Mac Mail will randomly give me a popup asking for the password for one of them (it gives me the option to save the password in the keychain). I've opened keychain access before and removed all of the entries for that account, and then that popup might show up once and i'll save the password and then things are fine for a while. But I've done this a number of times and that popup still shows up whenever it wants to! I've also removed the passwords from Mail's account settings, saved, and then put the passwords back in (smtp and pop). Doesn't work.

Applications :: Unable To Know About Annoying Mail Password?

Mar 29, 2009

I have 2 AOL email addresses which are on my Mail account lists, and had no problems for a few years.

I recently changed the password on one of them (with AOL) , and now when I start Mail, instead of going automatically to the account - it 'asks' me for my password, which I input manually.

The account then loads fine.

I have put in the new password in Mail preferences - but no joy.

I want to go back to when it loaded automatically.

ICloud :: Mail Password Request - While Given No Password On Mail?

Apr 4, 2012

Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.
