May 24, 2009Just being optimistic. When will they take this thing out of Beta?

View 6 RepliesAny ideas on what might be coming along (if anything) for a Mac Pro update at WWDC? I'm going to get one but am trying to convince myself that I should wait another month until the conference.
View 24 Replies View RelatedBeen reading various websites re WWDC keynote. seems like it will be centered on ipad and iphone. Whats the fate of the MBA? Does not seem likely for an update. [URL]
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been sorta not-so-patiently awaiting getting a new unibody Macbook and holding off to see if they bump the low end to 2.13 and a 250GB HDD. I expect that it'll probably be a silent update on the site and not mentioned in the keynote even if they do update them.
If we don't hear anything tomorrow, do you think they may be quietly updated on Tuesday or does it mean the unibody Macbooks won't be updated for awhile?
I'm buying a MBP and I was wondering if I should just go ahead and buy it now or wait till WWDC. What would you do?
View 24 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if today's product updates are pretty much it, or does Apple usually updates other products as well?
I'm looking at a great deal on a new 500gb time capsule
I just received that. Bought my imac in february. I wonder what the update is about. How do I find out?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running 10.4.11, and each time I run the software updater, go through all the stages...download, install, restart etc... I open the software updater again, and the update is there again waiting to be installed!
This update is that recent Safari 4 one. I've repaired permissions and tried again, but had the same result. Any ideas for a perplexed mac user?
A mate has a late 2006 polycarbonate white plastic case Core2Duo 24" iMac. Did the 10.6.5 Combo update, now Flash doesn't work in Safari but it does work in Chrome and Firefox. He's uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, then Safari, been through the Adobe troubleshooting, repaired permissions etc. Still Flash videos won't work in Safari.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis just popped up in software update for me. First to post? This update is recommended for all users of the Safari 4 Public Beta and includes the latest security updates. View 1 Replies View RelatedJust curious is any one is using this build for every day use? I have a vacation coming up and thought I might install and try it out until my retail copy ships in Sept since I have some free time on my hands.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIf there's no Hexacore at WDDC and no hint of an MP update - how significant do you think that would be for a 2010 MacPro.
View 24 Replies View RelatedNew MacBook Air or no MacBook Air tomorrow I'm glad the waiting, hope and anticipation is soon coming to an end.
If we get a new MBA tomorrow ... woo hoo I'll be able to complete the final piece of the puzzle into planning my computer set up in which a new Air would fit perfectly
If no new MBA tomorrow, that's fine, so be it. I and I expect MANY others with move on with other plans, whether it be a 13" MBP, Sony Z whatever.
I'm sure many are tired of 'wondering and speculating'. I've given it until WWDC to see what develops with the Air.
After that it's too late. Waiting for a Fall or 2011 update is a joke (imo) for a product as incredible as the Air ... sure maybe they can't do the major overhaul they want to now because of tech limitations *but* they need to do something even if it's minor.
If not, then it's clear to me where the MacBook Air sits with the plans of Apple.
Here's to hoping for a new Air tomorrow !!
After the major disappointment of the alleged upgrades to the Mac Pro this week, I am seeking opinion on what graphics card to install in my machine in an attempt to extend it's life - or any improvements that others may see fit.
SPECS:
Processor: 2 x 3 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
Memory: 10Gb 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM (Config: 2/2/2/2/1/1)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512Mb
Display: 30" DVI late 2005 (2560x 1600)
Before I get flamed for asking this, I realise that the Apple Store sells the ATI Radeon HD 5770 & 5870, but these cards are pretty old (whatever happened to Moore's Law?) and I had read on one of the Mac rumor / gossip sites that there would be a new graphics card potentially announced at WWDC 2012.If any stories are to be believed, it would appear that the end of '13 would be right for a major upgrade to the Mac Pro, and I am doing a fair bit of video these days. So I may as well spend some $$$ now to keep it chugging. I wouldn't mind flicking the 30" display and getting 2 x 27".
Is it just me or does the screen in the background of this image not look like anyone that Apple currently offer:
Its hard to see because of the bokeh but the iMac is completely different and the 24" LED doesnt look like that either?
Has anyone experienced unclear, not sharp text, on a new MBP unibody? It feels like the text display is just 'not right'. My display is 9CA3. It uses the 9600m card. I used a 17" MBP with 1920x1200 resolution for 2 years, daily, with no complaints. After working for 1 day on the laptop my left eye is painful and both eyes are much more tired than normal. On the other hand, images and movies are clear and the colors are very impressive. But, how good is it to watch a movie when the eyes are too tired?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI know there is another thread, but I wanted to make a poll so people could easily guage the problem.
If you have a post-WWDC 7200 RPM HDD in a uMBP, do you have the click-beep problem as described here:

My safari application wont update my computer keeps displaying that all the applications are up to date and then when I try downloading safari 5 from apple.com I am told in the set up box my computer(volume) does not meet the requirements. I have MAC OS X Snow leopard version 10.6.3 on a Mac book pro 13" 2009 mid year 2.26 Ghz intel core 2 duo
View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated safari (and now I did OSX, and its still slow) and performance is slow, unpredictable and randomly dies. The network is perfect though and this issue does not happen in transmission.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday a new auto-update came up and I ran it - it included a tweak to 10.7.3 as well as Safari and a few others. My Safari (5.2) got completely trashed. Will not even open any more - all it does is crash immediately upon launch. I have a Time Machine backup from about 40 minutes earlier I can recover from if needed. Meanwhile I'm lucky I have a MacBook Pro as well, and am able to get online while I am completely restoring Lion from a patchstick.Â
I'll post the crash report (I copied and saved it) once I get back up.Incidentally, I've been getting a lot of crashes in Mail as well. Always when the computer is asleep. Anyone else having these problems - or have a solution?

I've always wonder this, Does anyone know if the combo update has a security update as well?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot get Safari to update from v3.0.4 to v3.1.2 on OS 10.5.5 and I have no idea why. I get the message that says I need 10.5.2 or newer but I'm already 10.5.5. I downloaded the update from apple and I have no clue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWondered if anyone else is having the problem of Safari keep crashing since the last update??
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just updated Safari to 3.2.1 and it has gone crazy. It only loads a little of the page and then stops. What is wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Safari update three times already and it is still suggesting the update. Is anyone else having this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem when trying to update through Software Update. My Mac does not find the 10.5.7 update. And not the new Safari 4. I have tried to manually install these, but then it says its not possible to install on this volume. There is space and the computer is only 1,5 year old.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem for a while, I've taken it to the Genius bar, but still no love.
The problem: Safari pretty much works fine, except for a couple of websites, like Apple's One-to-One page and Netflix.
When I attempt to sign in on 1-to-1, an error message tells me to update Safari 3.0 and install it. The same happens with netflix - instant watch.
My Mac is fully update with Snow Leopard and the latest Safari (v 4.0.5). To make it even more weird, I get the same message when using FireFox.

He had a hard time accessing certain websites, which now that I'm caught up on info about eMacs might due to them no longer being supported by the latest flash and java. The first thing I noticed when he brough it to me is that safari was no longer installed, he tried to update it, ended up trashing it.I tried running the software update to see if it would reinstall that way, no dice. Ended up on oldapps.com and tried reinstalling safari 1.3.2, which I think is that latest version this version of OS X will support. No dice here either, so I ended up going back all the way to safari 1.2(v125), which is the only install that actually worked, initially tried going back to 1.0. The problem is now I can't update this version any further, running software update never finds any updates available and trying any other versions from old apps doesn't work.
