Sep 17, 2009I have a issue with iTunes 9: basically every time I download a new episode of a podcast it creates a new folder instead adding the episode to the existing one.

Nov 10, 2010I just tried downloading OS 10.6.5 and partially into the download, it disconnected and failed to complete. I was wondering if the partial download is saved somewhere. The last time this happened to me, it caused a big issue when I tried to finish downloading and install later and I ended up having to reinstall OS X. So... I would like to delete any partial downloads if they exist so that the next download is a fresh copy.

May 4, 2009I have downloaded a podcast which the itunes store carries. It is an earlier episode than one available on itunes store.
It is in MP3 format. When I added it to library it appears in my "music" library, not the podcast directory.
I have even placed the file into the folder containing the podcasts downloaded from itunes and changed the "genre" setting to podcast but it will not appear in that list.

Jan 11, 2011So I listen to a couple podcasts on the regular and the iTunes store is not updated, basically a day behind. Anyone having similar issues or heard about this at all? FYI the two podcasts are the BS Report by Bill Simmons from ESPN and the Dan Patrick show. Not the biggest deal as I can stream them directly from the podcast websites via safari, but of course I can't get them in my iPod/iPhone till I get home.

Mar 26, 2009I transferred files from an old computer, incl some audio files. The files were just sitting in a normal folder (some time ago manually copied out of the iTunes Music folder on the old Mac) and named sth like "Song_x.mp3" where x is a running number. I selected all and dragged them onto iTunes on the new Mac (10.5.6). To my surprise some of them ended up in the Music folder, some in Podcasts. In fact all of them had originally been podcast downloads, but why does iTunes not recognize some of them as such? Or the other way around, what makes iTunes think that a certain file is a podcast?
There were no XML files or anything else with meta or subscription data among the files I copied, so the info must be stored in the MP3 files themselves. How? Special ID3 tags? Which ones? How can I edit them? Ultimately, I'd like to have all those files in the Podcasts folder under the same Podcast. I tried this nifty utility:

But it creates a new subfolder in Podcasts. What can I do to convince iTunes that those "music" files should really go into the same Podcast folder with the rest of them?

Sep 15, 2009I upgraded to iTunes 9 and then downloaded some new podcasts. ITunes is putting each new podcast episode into a new group in the thumbnail view. In Finder, all the episodes still remain under one folder though.

Sep 8, 2010When i'm listening to music on my Mac Pro I 'randomly' get the message:'to access this podcast, you need to log into 82.136.33.201'Like i say this is when i'm listening to music and not trying to open a podcast. It happens randomly (about every half hour or so) and is usually in the middle of a song. It never happens when a song's starting and i've never been denied access to any songs (or podcasts for that matter).I've also got the same music collection on my MacbookPro and don't have this problem there.I put '82.136.33.201' into my browser and came to LBC Podcasts site. I believe i've never downloaded any LBC podcasts and searched their podcasts list to make sure.
I've had this problem for a few years now, my macbook pro recently not booting up, being the reason for me playing music on the mac pro more, hence needing this problem sorting. This problem has persited over many itunes and os updates. For the record i'm using itunes 10 and OS X version 10.6.4Apologies if this problem has been covered here before. I searched the forums and on google and couldn't find an answer.
Applications :: ITunes / IPhone Podcast Not Sync Properly
Aug 2, 2008Ever since iTunes 7.7 and iPhone 2.0, podcasts aren't syncing properly. I have mine set so only those that's never been listened to before gets synced to the iPhone. Since the updates, this sync has been inconsistent. Sometimes, it behaves as expected, but other times, podcasts that I've listened to on the iPhone retains the blue dot on iTunes after a sync. Thus, the podcast is also labeled "new" again on the iPhone after the sync. Not sure if iTunes 7.7 or the iPhone 2.0 update caused this since they both came out around the same time. iTunes 7.7.1 is installed and still the same inconsistent behavior. Anyone with non touch iPods seeing this? Trying to figure out if it's an iPhone/touch issue or an iTunes issue.

Jun 21, 2009I'm having a problem with iTunes trying to sync stuff that is no longer in my library. I can get it to stop warning me by clicking the "Don't warn me again" box, but I'd like to figure out the problem, so I can make it stop happening. Recently, when I updated my iPhone to 3.0, that resets all the warnings on the phone. Which is fine. But then, the first time I go to sync, I get this. Yes iTunes, I know you can't find that file. I don't even subscribe to that podcast AT ALL any more.
Now, I can simply check that box, and it will stop warning me about this. But, I'd like to figure out the root of the problem, so I can have this stop happening. It does this for 2-3 podcasts, and a small handful of songs. I would just like to know how to clean this crap out of my library, so it can stop thinking that stuff is there, when it really isn't.

Mar 12, 2009The first fourteen episode of a podcast I subscribe to (Sundays Supplement, yay!) are only available via download from the website. I want them to appear in my Podcasts library.
In my iTunes folder there's a path ~/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts/Sundays Supplement
Containing all the subscribed shows.
So, I d/led all the .mp3s to this folder. No joy. Restart iTunes. No joy.
Applications :: ITunes 10 Podcast Sync Bug / Playback Position Is Not Synced Correctly
Dec 16, 2010basically the bug makes it where the playback position (where you are in a podcast) is not synced correctly between iTunes and your device (iPhone 4 in my case).
Scenario 1: Download a new podcast episode on your Mac/iTunes. Listen to 20 minutes. Sync to iPhone. When you listen to it on your iPhone, it starts at the beginning...not 20 minutes in like it should.
Scenario 2: Download a new podcast episode on your Mac/iTunes. Sync to iPhone. When you listen to it on your iPhone for the first time, it starts randomly somewhere in the middle...not at the start like it should.
This bug didn't exist with iTunes 9. The bug appeared in iTunes 10 and still exists as of version 10.1.1 that was released a couple of days ago.

Any ideas on how to get movement on this from Apple? Already reported it as a bug online as well as posted in the thread on the discussion forum. This bug is PAINFUL for heavy podcast listeners.

Nov 11, 2009I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.

Apr 8, 2012I have a mac, and my mom has a PC. I have been on her account since I was pretty young, so It's a shared account. It's under my email and apple ID, but my mom is on the same account, on her own computer. I want to have automatic downloads so I can use it for my iphone and ipad, but I don't want her song to end up going to my devices or laptop when she downloads from her own computer. is there a way to either turn off automatic downloads for just one computer, or get her a new account, but letting her transfer all of her music onto the new one?

Oct 17, 2010I've been having a terrible issue for the past serveral months. I have a MacBookPro and I do bunch of app updates every week or buy apps and music. Howerver, it seems almost everytime I download apps, it gets stuck in the "Downloads" section. It starts downloading than just sits there stalled 1/2 way. I'll have to maybe pause the download and re-activate 4-10times before it goes all the way through. I have no Idea how to fix this. I thought maybe it was the wireless so I plugg directly into the switch and still same issue.
Anyone have thoughts on what I can do to reslove this?

Dec 5, 2010Just found this while browsing the iTunes movie store, you can now buy HD movies!! There is only a very small number of HD films available at the moment and they all seem to be reasonably priced. Can't wait for the HD library to be expanded.

Jul 12, 2008I noticed it yesterday nite when I was downloading the 2.0 firmware. at about 50% complete, my ethernet showed an error and the whole thing went to 0.0 kb. at that time i thought maybe it happens so with the firmware download but the same thing is happening with podcast downloads. I know for a fact that resume used to work earlier. now, if the download is interrupted, it goes back to zero.

Dec 24, 2010I have 4 computers linked to my Apple ID and numerous IPhones and IPods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I purchase a song, and successfully download it, using my computer. The only way to get it to the other computers is by transferring it via my IPhone or IPods. It seems as if I've downloaded something once from Apple, then they don't let me download it again onto a registered machine using the same Apple ID. Therefore, I transfer music/app content using my devices. Isn't this what everyone does?
Now, Mac app store is coming! How the heck am I going to download content onto one computer and then transfer it to another computer (Apple says the 1 time purchase will be good for all your computers). Do you think Apple will allow multiple downloads of the same software to any computer associated with you Apple ID? If this is the case: Why not allow us to do the same thing with our ITunes purchases? Anyone care to chime in and letting me know if I'm off base, or have any suggestions, etc.?

Apr 18, 2009my hard drive was wipped clean, and I lost everything. So, I wanted to get all of my TV, Movies and Music back that I bought from iTunes that was not on my iPod. They gave me all of it back. All 872 files. So, now I just had to go to Store-Check for Available Downloads. And I did. Then I entered my password and it said Checking for Downloads... After a while, it came up with an error message saying that it was unable to check for downloads. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again. I checked and both were good so I tried again. It didn't work. Then I tried again and again and still, nothing.
I rebooted my computer, uninstalled iTunes, restarted my router and still nothing. It won't work on my laptop and it also won't work on my Dad's desktop. So I called Apple and they had me do a DNS flush, still no luck. Then after a while, they said it wasn't iTunes so I should call my internet provider (Verizon Fios) They did all of this stuff, change the readings of my router to avoid 2.4 GhZ thing (I don't know what that means) and they also brought me to [URL] and had me optomize my speed and I did that and still no luck. The guy eventually said that it wasn't my router so I should contact Apple. So know I am here. If anyone could help that would be great. Especially if it's solved by Sunday night because I have a 10 hour bus ride on Monday and I would like to have something to watch on the way there.

Jun 22, 2010I am having an issue with iTunes (9.2) and a movie that I rented from the iTunes Store. Around a month I go I rented 'Borstal Boy' when it was the 99p Film of the Week. I then transfered this to my iPad to watch on the train, which I did. I have obviously synced back after this. Now everytime I download an app, or podcast etc, 'Borstal Boy' is automatically added to my download list and starts to re-download (1.08GB). If I cancel the download it automatically adds itself back into the list next time I download anything else. If I leave it to download and try to play it (to force it to recognise that it has been watched), it asks me to confirm that I accept I have 48 hours to watch it once it starts, then it says that "it is authorised to play on another computer or device". If I delete this, it will then just try and re-download. stop this from constantly trying to download? I've watched the film, and don't want it anymore.

Jan 28, 2008I'm trying to get rid of an offending "TipsSmart" (no spaces, I hate that) in the title. I can bring up the info window, and I can change the Album name, which does in fact change the name of the relevant directory in the iTunes library. Unfortunately, when I go back to look at my iTunes subscriptions the name of the podcast doesn't change. In fact, the name of the podcast is comprised of text that's not contained in any file in my iTunes library. I can't figure out where it gets the name so I can edit it.
