I'm doing a picture book for the first time. All has been going well until I found some pictures that are in my library, but do not show up in the picture bar when adding pictures to the photobook. Seems that they just stop at a certain point almost like I've filled a capacity of some kind.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am opening iPhoto, and when I go to my iCloud folder the albums are their, but there are no photos in the album. My mac mini is all up to date and so in iPhoto. The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

I want to have all my photos show up in my iPhoto library. They always did. However, a few weeks ago (while traveling and adding a lot of photos), I began to not see all my photos in my library. In fact, when I look at "Events" there are greyed out boxes that have the date photos were taken, it indicates that there are 0 photos, and there is a shades-of-grey icon that has a palm tree and horizon. I had never seen this before. Some of my photos from my travel ended up in my library just fine. Others are in limbo. I found the others in My Photo Stream, but I can't figure out how to add them to the library, where they belong.
When I show Package Contents from Home>Pictures>iPhoto Library, all the pictures are there. They are just not showing up in iPhoto. I have quit and restarted iPhoto. Do you think my iPhoto app is corrupt?
I have experienced a problem after I updated to SL last night.I made a fresh install of both SL and iLife 09 on my mbp unibody late 2008.
Afterwards, I replaced the my fresh iphoto library simply with my old iphoto 09library from time machine (no migration tool, only copy pasts).
But now I recognized a problem that I see no iphoto library in my Desktop and Screensaver Menu in control panel. I cant set iphoto library photos as screensaver cause I cant see them
Does anyone have a solution for it? or does anybody face the same issue?
My DVD player application is not showing the picture. Yet it is playing the sounds of the movies and also i can select the main menu options.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have created an iMovie project with iMovie 08. On the project window I could see my pictures as I have imported, in the perfect order and with the correct orientation. I just installed iLife09 and I opened the project on iMovie09. The project window shows pictures in a random order, the orientation of some pictures are wrong (upside down, portrait etc). But to my surprise if I play the video or move the mouse over the pictures it shows the correct picture on the preview window.

Since iPhoto '11 auto-creates Events based on the time period the photos were taken, it is inevitable to get some into an Event you don't want them in. I might take 15 pictures in the morning of the sunrise, then take some pictures at the baseball game, and then another of something that catches my eye sometime during the day, and then some more photos at sunset.
I want the sunrise/sunset/sky pics in one event, the ball game in another, and the solo picture in no event, or an event called "Misc." If iPhoto '11 lumps them all into one Sunrise Event, how do I go about separating them out?
I usually keep my pictures organized myself, but using a Mac for a little over a year I decided to give iPhoto a try. I added all my photos, then I thought I'd check out faces. On the faces welcome screen there is a picture of a girl and a boy. The girl is labeled "Lisa". When I first saw this I thought no way is that Steve Job's daughter, but after a quick Google search I thought again. I have an actual picture of Lisa Jobs and the picture of "Lisa" from the faces welcome screen below. What do you think?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my Macbook Pro for only about 2 months, and I'm relatively new to this Apple world. I've had no problems with using iPhoto and uploading photos to other websites... UNTIL last night! I downloaded Picasa for Mac (I've been trying to find a good photo sharing website that doesn't cost me money. I use gmail, so this seemed reasonable.)... and I swear, something has happened. I'm fairly certain it is connected with downloading the Picasa plug-in.
I have searched high and low in every corner of this Macbook, and my picture FOLDERS are nowhere to be found. My photos are still in iPhoto, and the APPLICATION shows up in my Pictures folder, but no folders with the photos themselves. Does that make sense? The photos are in iPhoto, but not stored in any folders anywhere on the computer. This is rather distressing. Has anyone heard of this happening before??? Or does anyone have any advice for me??? I can't share any of my photos anymore until I find a way to fix this! I keep trying to upload photos, but they are nowhere to be found when I do so!
I have a fairly big photo library in iphoto 09 and I am wondering if there is an option to save information like location, description, date etc to the actual picture file. The reason I ask is because when I went to export some pictures it didnt save any of this information whatsoever and with 4000 photos thats a lot of work to go add all that information back to. Anyone else have experience with this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI added about 20 new contacts and edited about 10 other contacts on my iPhone since the last sync. I just hooked my iPhone up to iTunes, went to "Info" and checked the sync contact field. Then I synced it, but no matter what I do, the new contacts dont show up on my Address Book on my Mac. It asked me for one duplicated entry, where I had to choose one and I choose one. It even says Sync Okay in iTunes.

I have once tried to start managing them in iPhoto and attempted to import it on an old MacBook Pro with 2GB RAM. It was about 2 yrs ago on an old version of iLife. The performance was very bad - everything was extremely slow and I abandoned an idea at that time. Now I have MacPro with fast HDD and 10GB RAM and was wondering if I should try this again using iPhoto 09? Doe anyone manage that many images using iPhoto here? How is the experience?
View 19 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, when I upload pictures onto my Mac from my camera, it makes duplicates of the photo, sometimes even 2 duplicates. This is very annoying as I have to go through my library deleting the duplicates. Is this a known problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to iPhoto 8 and noticed the contents of the library where not stored in the 'pictures' folder on the 'home' folder as it was on previous versions. However the iPhoto file (in the 'pictures' folder that is) increases in size when photos are added.
Are all your photos embedded in that file?
If not how do you back up your iPhoto library? AND how do you access photos individually outside of the iPhoto app?
I didn't find the folder hierarchy very intuitive in previous versions but at least it was all there in folders in the primary 'pictures' folder.
I need to invert (mirror) a bunch of scanned photos. I can easily do this using Preview but when I drag the edited photo back into iPhoto it changes back to the original photo. How can I keep the edited pic from changing back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've upgraded to iLife 09 and ran into a problem with some jpg pictures that all came from the same source.
When I double-click on certain photos (all landscape view) to enlarge them, they expand out, and then go black. If I click on the "Name" button it recognizes faces behind the black but I can't see anything.
I've rebuilt the library and repaired permissions. It doesn't help to reimport the pictures or to rotate them around.
I recently changed my hard drive in my macbook, I managed to download my photos on to the macbook but they don't show up in iphoto
I can see them if I go to pictures > iphoto library > originals, but not if I just open up iphoto
I have tried File > import to library, but all I get is a message saying "the following file cannot be imported.(The file is in the iphoto library folder)"

I created another iPhoto library on my external hard drive. With photos from 2007-2008 Deleted them from the main iPhoto. Then in 2008 I carbon copied my computer to the external hard drive. I ended up with 3 iPhoto libraries. I wanted to only have one on the external hard drive and today after not enough research I drug the iphoto icon on top of the one in the user folder on to the iphoto icon. The photos are not showing up in my iphoto library when I open the iphoto on the external HD. I do a rt click and open the iphoto package and the photos are all there with all information How do I get them to show up when I open the external hard drive or am I fried?
I take lots of pictures of mountains and often from more than one directions. I'm good at recognizing peaks, but it has become to large to remember them all. Do you guys know of a way to display a simple
caption for each picture so that I know what I'm looking at? I thought this was a simple feature that ought to be include in the first version of iPhoto, but obviously I am wrong. Anyhow, i'm using version 6.0.6 on OSX 10.4 i.e. Tiger.

I use to have a MacBook Pro (17" if that matters) with OSX 10.5 on it. Back in August '08 I bought a iMac (24") because I had to give the MacBook Back. When I set up the iMac I did the install that allows you to transfer your settings and files to your new computer before I erased everything on the MacBook.Some how I lost a bunch of Pictures I took and had on the MacBook. I just can't find them... i didn't have iPhoto on the MacBook but do on the iMac.
I thought I had lost the photos until one day I pointed the screen saver to my photo folder. Now I can see my photos in the screen saver slide show... but can not see them in iPhoto or in the Photo Folder.I have hope that they are somewhere on my computer but where and how can I get them into iPhoto?
I did an extensive search for this topic before posting, so I guess it's safe to ask. Are there any places where you can download other iPhoto book themes? I would really like to have more variation with the books. Or if there isn't any place to download new ones from, is there a way to make your own? I know there are Keynote themes and iDVD themes, but are there iPhoto book themes? Or are they way too complex compared to iDVD and Keynote?

There are 20 pages in the standard book. I'm looking to get an extra large book. Is there a way for me to delete some of the pages or do I have to use 20? Don't think I'll find 20 pages worth of photos of Cancun!

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn iPhoto 06, in the finder, if you went to the iphoto library folder, you could select the photos in the original or modified folders. I'm using iPhoto 08 on my iMac and I can't do that anymore. For example, when I'm in Photoshop/trying to upload a photo to a webpage and I want to open a photo thats in the iPhoto Libraries Original folder, it won't go any farther than the iPhoto Library, there's no arrow so I can't get to the different folders in the Library. When I click on show file in iPhoto, it will show this location, but other than that I can't get at it. I'm running the latest version, just checked to see if there were any updates and there wasn't. I've taken screen shots to try and explain. the second one is when I try to get at it through the finder and the first one is when I click on "Show File" on a photo in iPhoto.
