I have made a book in iPhoto, which I can export as a movie to include in iDVD. Where can I edit the duration that a page is shown during a slideshow? With a 'normal' iphoto slideshow this is made possible by settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to burn a DVD from iPhoto's slideshow.
From reading a thread here, I export the Slideshow to iMovie. Which is made into a .mov flie. Then I add some stuff and edited the movie under iMovie. But then I couldn't find a way to burn it unto a non-computer playable format. So I export it from iMovie to iDVD.
So far seems alright.... ready to burn the DVD and all..... but here's the problem:-
1) The oginal photos are around 500MB, after I made it into .mov file... it's like 800MB. After I edited it under iMovie (Just some extra text and all) it became a whopping 9.5GB!!! Too large even for a blank DVD...Have I done anything wrong?
2) Picture quality on iPhoto was excellent.. but when made into .mov the quality was awful...... Anyway to improve the quality?
Ive created a slideshow on iPhoto, of a recent vacation. Ive configured it with music, etc. Can someone please explain to me how I can burn it to a DVD?

However, I cannot figure out if this is possible. I also tried to file transfer it to her via iChat file transfer, but no luck with this either.
Do either of these two methods (regular email or iChat file transfer) enable me to send a slideshow to someone? If not, is there any other way I can do this?
I simply find it very hard to believe that there is no way whatsoever to send someone a slideshow, especially another mac user with iPhoto.
In regards to creating a slideshow using iPhoto, is it possible to integrate multiple songs from iTunes into a slideshow using iPhoto '08? What about the newest version of the application, iPhoto '09?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a slideshow for my dad's 60th birthday. I have the pictures loaded and in order and I have a play list from my itunes that I am using. I want to shorten the lengths of the songs though. I don't want the whole slide show to be to just one or two songs. Is there a way to play songs for a certain amount of slides or to make a song play for 1 minute instead of say 4 minutes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a slideshow in iPhoto and adjust the duration for individual slides so I can get them to be more in sync with the music. Problem is, the seconds counter won't change in the "Adjust This Slide" menu. I'm able to click the arrows to increase/decrease seconds, but the value never changes. I've made sure that I don't have the "fit slideshow to music" option selected, tried it with different slides, tried with different slideshows, turned off all the options in the slideshow settings menu, turned off the ken burns effect, added more songs to the iTunes playlist for the slideshow, changed the slideshow format, restarted iphoto, rebooted, and toggled every other setting I could find, but still can't change the slide duration.

I would really like to have more variation with the books. Or if there isn't any place to download new ones from, is there a way to make your own? I know there are Keynote themes and iDVD themes, but are there iPhoto book themes? Or are they way too complex compared to iDVD and Keynote?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm surprising my girlfriend with a 2 week holiday to Cancun in Mexico for her christmas present and I thought it would be a nice idea to get loads of pictures of the resort and cancun itself and make a hard back book in iPhoto to give to her. There are 20 pages in the standard book. I'm looking to get an extra large book. Is there a way for me to delete some of the pages or do I have to use 20? Don't think I'll find 20 pages worth of photos of Cancun!

Everything is different from the music to the way the pictures are changed and the timing. Is there a way I can burn it from iphoto (the slide show) to a dvd? If not why is it not the same on idvd?

In iPhoto 09 I've created an album of images I would like to use as a slideshow and send that slideshow to iDVD. So, I select all the images, press the slideshow Play button and the slideshow plays. I can change the theme etc, but can't see a way to save this or share to iDVD whilst retaining the slideshow settings.
Am I being really really stupid or is the Slideshow in iPhoto 09 a "view only" from within iPhoto and can't be saved and exported?
I think it may have been possible in 08 but I'm not sure.
Ultimately I want to create 3 x different Slideshows using 3 of the new 09 themes and send them to iDVD, but can see how to save/export/share the slideshow whilst retaining the settings I choose.
I have created a slideshow containing some photos of me and my fiance. Now I need to save this slideshow as a file. I tried to look at the settings and other places to figure it out but unfortunately couldn't do it.
I need this for a little slide in our wedding and it would be much appreciated if anyone have an idea about it.
Is there any way of putting captions below each photo in an iPhoto Book? I can't see any way of doing this in iPhoto (I have 09). The only way I can see is to put a caption below the photo using Photoshop or Graphic Converter, for example, and put that photo in the Book. That is a bit tedious. Typing directly into the Book would surely be easier.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been working on creating some books in iPhoto, and I'm running into all sorts of issues with Apple's "smart" page formatting. When I choose a page layout, iPhoto automatically changes the layout based on what type of photos you put where. For example: Say I choose a 2-photo layout for one page with 2 horizontal photo placeholders side by side (and large blank spaces above/below). If I drag a portrait photo to one of the placeholders, the arrangement automatically changes to 1 squarish portrait size, and one long landscape photo. If I drag another portrait photo onto the other landscape placeholder, the page automatically becomes a full bleed, 2-portrait page. This is 100% consistent and predictable - however this info appears nowhere in iPhoto or in Apple's support pages. Or anywhere that I can find.
Problem: It gets really complex with multi-photo pages. I'm using a few 6-photo pages, which the default template is: 1 big portrait, 1 regular landscape and 4 quarter size landscapes. I can't sort out the logic for the auto-formatting of this page. If I drag a portrait photo to one of the small photos, sometimes it changes the page into two normal size landscape photos and four half-frame portrait photos. This looks great when arranged on a diagonal, but there's no way to do that on purpose - and the iPhoto "magic" arranging is seemingly inconsistent here. (Often it stacks the landscape photos on one side of the page with 4 small portrait photos on the other - which looks chunky.)
<brief rant> Further infuriating is that the various full-bleed books have totally different formatting options. And "undo" does NOT undo magic iPhoto's magic format changes. </brief rant>
Help: I've googled the bejeezus out of this, and searched here for hours. Is there a helpful website out there, anywhere, that have these logic strings revealed? So that users can arrange photo books to look good on purpose? I can't understand why apple doesn't allow an "advanced" mode where the format box shows all the options, and have a toggle for "no magic auto formatting."
Note: I'm currently running iLife 11 on a up-to-date new MacBook Pro. However, I had the exact same issues with the previous version of iPhoto, so I believe the magic code to be universal.
I'm doing a picture book for the first time. All has been going well until I found some pictures that are in my library, but do not show up in the picture bar when adding pictures to the photobook. Seems that they just stop at a certain point almost like I've filled a capacity of some kind.

My problem is as we went to Seymour in Victoria Australia, I type in Seymour and I'm given a dozen USA possibilities but I'm offered a search for my Seymour option. I take this, starting in Sydney and I drag the pointer to Seymour in Victoria (It says Seymour on the map) but in my book it changes the name to Mitchell. It does this for a number of stops. I could probably cope with one but when you go to 50 towns and you're showing off your clever Mac and all people go is I've never heard of Mitchell wheres that and I'm sure you can guess what my answer is, I don't know I've never been there. Particularly when the photo has Seymour Railway station on the photo.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my MacBook to my tv to play a slideshow in iPhoto. I've got just a regular old MacBook and got a mini-DVI to video adapter, as well as a male-male s-video cable to connect the computer to the tv. It gets all connected and on the tv I go to the setting to view it and all I get on the tv screen is the blank desktop, no icons or anything. The only thing that will show up on the tv from the computer is when I go to the display preferences to change the resolution setting. Now, I know the resolution of the computer doesn't totally match that of the tv but past that and the fact that I have them physically connected right now... Why isn't anything from the computer showing up on the tv??

However, whenever I try to do so, the program insists on lingering on the first slide for a full thirty seconds before going on to the next slide. This shouldn't be necessary to make the music fit - all subsequent slides are at just over 5 seconds, and if all slides were just slightly longer than that, it would easily fit. Even if I delete the last slide, it simply makes the subsequent slide lasts 30 seconds.
